Oh, fug off. What do you want, a copy of Marv's week one game plan?
-
No. We should have traded the #8 pick to the Lions for the #9 pick and their second. Then the #9 pick we could have traded for the #10 pick and the Cardinals second. Eventually, we could have taken Whitner at #32, and had 24 second round picks! Too bad Marv is senile!

I think it sums it up pretty well if you're a Brady Quinn fan: Holcomb can't hit the big passes when he needs to, and survives off meaningless underneath stuff. JP can't complete passes, but can go deep.

What a sh--head.

Would You Rather Go 8-8 With Holcomb
silvermike replied to Buffalo Baumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's entirely about making the playoffs - I want the plan that gets us into the playoffs, the soonest. It was fun going 9-7 in 2004, but who really cares, we didn't get in, and it's just another failed season. So an 8-8 season is mostly likely roughly equivalent to a 4-12 one in my mind. The question is what sets us up better the next year: playing Losman. That means we'll know to cut him and get somebody new. -
OFFICIAL 2007 bills madden ratings
silvermike replied to billsfan182's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Boy, is Madden ever a victim of ratings inflation. The Bills are 29th overall, with an overall score of 85. Now, to begin with, 85 shouldn't be 29th overall, that should be playoffs. Meanwhile, the patriots are 3rd overall - with an overall score of 89!! Four freaking points separates the vast majority of the league. Are they just hedging in case somebody surprises them? Not wanting to piss off fans? Seriously, might as well rank everyone the same. -
1.) Bannan's gone. Denney and Kelsay distinctly average, but not distinctly terrible. Aaron Schobel and Larry Triplett are solid D-linemen, and they're backed up by a top-notch LB corps. 2.) maybe 3.) no 4.) Losman is obviously the question mark. 5.) Here's the third round: http://nfl.com/draft/drafttracker/round/round3 Add two or three of those players to the Bills. How many wins does that equal in 2006 in your mind? 6.) Better than last year's.

As far as I have heard, there's no bad blood in the negotations, no threats of long-term holdouts or any of that usual nonsense. So I'm guessing the remaining details are fairly techinical, and he'll be in camp shortly.

I wonder if SDS can report the relative stats for this Bills and Sabres sites.
-
It's the agents playing it ultra-safe. They want to make sure they don't take a cheaper contract than the guy right after them. Donte Whitner doesn't care if he's gonna make $25,000 less than Sims, but it's a big deal to the agents.
-
I think these guys' position on the list say a lot about what this stat is worth. When you run some kind of analysis, and you get these results, you have to conclude your study is measuring something that is largely unimportant.

Why does it cut to a camel?

I guess Ralph isn't so senile after all

ESPN started as the CNN of sports, and then somehow degenerated into the MTV. What we need it the C-SPAN of sports. It shows the games, it shows the highlights, it keeps you informed. Not "athletotainment" or anything like that. -
REGGIE BUSH CONTEMPLATING SITTING OUT
silvermike replied to MartyBall4Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Time to pick up Deuce McAllister in fantasy football. Bush could !@#$ himself over pretty badly here - say he doesn't sign until the day before the season starts. Now he's a backup. Too late to learn the system, McAllister has a couple of good games, and he's on the bench for the season. -
Status of our draft pick signings
silvermike replied to bills_fan_in_raleigh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ellison and Pennington have signed. There have been no reports of any impasse in further negotiations. -
These "Official Madden" ratings make no sense. Look at the RBs - Priest Holmes is a 98, Larry Johnson is a 72. Jamal Lewis is a 97! Kevan Barlow and Michael Bennett rate above Mike Anderson and Steven Jackson. Travis Henry is a 90, Willie Parker is a 71. The only possible explanation is that these are the Madden 2005 numbers, based on people's 2003 seasons, plus guesses for the '04 rookie class. The site needs to check back in a couple years.

I like "Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is a conspiracy." But maybe only because I do believe in coicidences.

Worst Bills of the last 15 years
silvermike replied to JimBob2232's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you have to restrict the list to starters - I mean, yeah, Antonio Brown sucked as a wide receiver, that's why he was frequently inactive and never made it past 6th on the depth chart. You might as well put Rick Strom in as the worst QB. So, of players who were at least nominally starters: QB: Billy Joe Herbert, Rob Johnson, Todd Collins RB: Jonathan Linton, Shawn Bryson FB: Tim Tindale WR: Bobby Shaw, Josh Reed, Russell Copeland, Jeremy McDaniel TE: Sheldon Jackson, Bobby Collins, Lonnie Johnson OT: Robert Hicks, Jerry Crafts OG: Bennie Anderson, Mike Williams C: Billy Conaty DE: Erik Flowers, Chidi Ahanotou DT: Tim Anderson, Ron Edwards OLB: Gabe Northern, Sam Rogers ILB: Brandon Spoon, Carlton Bailey CB: Chris Watson, Mickey Washington SS: Ray Hill FS: Raion Hill K: Jake Arians P: Rick Tuten KR: Antonio Brown (where he did, in fact, start) PR: Chris Watson HC: Mike Mularkey OC: Joe Pendry DC: Walt Corey (not that bad, but vs. Cottrell, Phillips, and Gray) DLC: Chuck Dickerson OLC: Carl Mauck -
Jason Peters is worse than Aaron Merz? Shows how much these are worth.
-
The problem with his all-Cap team is that it's basically cheating - going around the league at putting in guys who had a breakout year and are still on their rookie contracts. Yes, Lofa Tatupu is a great player with a cheap tag. It's impressive to draft him, not pick him out. This would be interesting if he only included players who are on their second contract.

"Great. There'll be nothing but love on this board if we have the worst record in the NFL next year while Bledsoe is one game away from a SB." Of course, there'd be nothing but love on this board if Bledose led us to within one game of the Super Bowl. Or within one minute of winning the Super Bowl. Or anything but a title. There's nothing BUT love on TBD.

who will start day 1 for the bills
silvermike replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are there really any position battles besides QB, and maybe #2 WR? It's the depth that counts. -
NFL rule you would change first...
silvermike replied to bluenews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
a.) One point for hitting a goalpost on a missed field goal b.) 5th down. c.) Metric measurements for down and distance d.) Two bonus yards awarded for completed passes by non-QBs e.) Ball is live after one bounce on a forward pass (5th down only) f.) Eliminate the position of "Offensive Tackle" g.) One blitz per four downs h.) Legalize "dirties" -
Yes, you're right. The Bills organization is actually too stupid to have a training camp this year. And god knows they don't have a website to post such information. http://www.buffalobills.com/team/camp.html
