  1. I heard Fat Mike went into a restaurant and ate everything in the restaurant and they had to close the restaurant.
  2. JP Losman is getting better numbers out of Peerless Price than Vick did. That says something.
  3. He is an expensive player going into a contract year. I don't think his value is as high as we think it is.
  4. Unless you're watching every game, QBs are going to get rated on stats and wins, and nobody's going to care about how sh-- your LG is and how much your special teams put you in a position to win. Manning has arguably the best RB in the league in Barber, arguably the best TE (probably more like top 5), a solid offensive line, two reliable wideouts, and a superb defense. And he STILL just barely makes it work.
  5. Oh yeah, Mex, this is the way to get what you want. Whinge about the HC and all your key teammates. Publically. And talk about how great some other team is. Mora should suspend him for this, or at the very least, bench him for the first series next weekend.
  6. That Canadian Free Press article is fairly spooky. If the author didn't seem to be such an incorrigible crackpot, I'd be kind of worried. I guess I am anyway.
  7. Please, please, please, please be joking, Beerball.
  8. Marvin Harrison is 34 this year. Tarik Glenn is 32. Dwight Freeny is going to be a UFA next year. It's not slamming shut by any means, but they're not going to be as dominant in the regular season as they have been. Even this year, teams seem to be catching up to them quite a bit. I don't think they'll miss the playoffs anytime soon, but they're reaching the later years of their team's sweet spot.
  9. Yeah, the Colts window is closing. They might have to overpay if they think it'll push them over the top.
  10. For the record, when I said "Three White Boys" I didn't mean that we should sign a non-white replacement. It's just a way of saying that the three have a really similar profile. More broadly, I don't think anyone is against white players at all - but the team has a preference for this one specific mold of player during the Donahoe era - and it wasn't successful.
  11. I screwed up reading PFT. It is a second.
  12. Traded for a third, which doesn't sound terrible. I'd be pissed, until PFT points out this: his base pay for 2007 and 2008 is $5.5 million and $6.85 million, respectively. I'd like to think we can do better for that money.
  13. I stand by my all-o-line draft day, but otherwise, here would be my rundown: QB: Assuming we keep JP and Nall, we only need a consistent backup. Might as well be Holcomb. RB: Willis might be in his last year next season, but I think we have a legit shot at re-signing him. But we should know before the draft, and if necessary, take a 3rd-4th round flyer on a possible replacement. If not, a 1st round RB can almost always start. WR: I actually do like our receiving corps. If anything, we don't need a rookie, we need a big veteran. Don't draft one. TE: I think JP can really use a reliable, pass-catching TE. Royal is an excellent blocker, we need a catcher. Kevin Everett hasn't been stepping up. FB: If there's a mauler out there on day 2, I wouldn't say no. LT: Um, yeah. Urgent need. LG: Reyes can stick around a bit. C: Fowler needs someone to push, at least a little bit. RG: Urgent need. RT: If Peters shows signs of being an LT, draft one over here. DE: Unless we have a top-5 pick and can land a true stud, I'd be inclined towards FA here, to find someone distinctly better than the Three White Boys. DT: Williams and McCargo are as good as anyone we're likely to draft. Add a veteran journeyman to solidify the rotation. LB: Aging corps needs some new blood - and we have to re-sign Fletcher. CB: If Nate goes, replace him (Asante Samuel?) . Otherwise, bring along McGee and Youboty. S: All set. So, positions where I'd consider a draft pick are RB, TE, T, G, C, LB, CB. Sound okay?
  14. Willis has not been our problem this year. If he were Walter Payton in 1985 - yes, we'd be better off. He's not the best running back in NFL history. But to seriously argue that Anthony Thomas is better is just ridiculous. He has 37 yards, and half of them came on one carry. His average is .2 yards less than Willis's. This isn't to say that every one of Willis's carries is better than every one of Thomas's, but quite simply, the sum is better under every metric.
  15. The Bills have one good receiver and three pretty okay receivers. Plus a special teamer and Andre Davis. "Near the best in the league" is a stretch. As far as top-4 goes, you have to include: Arizona: Fitzgerald, Boldin, Johnson, Walters. Indianapolis: Harrison, Wayne, Stokley, Moorehead St. Louis: Holt, Bruce, Curtis, Looker Miami: Chambers, Booker, Welker, Hagan Seattle: Jackson, Burleson, Engram, Branch Philly: Stallworth, Brown, Lewis, Baskett Cincy: Johnson, Houshmanzadeh, Henry, Washington I'd trade our WR corps for any one of those.
  16. We have six picks. We should draft: LT, RG, C, LG, RT, LT. Because you can't have enough offensive line prospects. :-D
  17. Sabres beat the Red Wings, in Detroit, that very same weekend. And the Red Wings are one of the best teams in their league, not one of the worst like the Lions.
  18. WOhoo! Better than Miami!
  19. We're a decent ways away from being the worst team in the NFL. This shouldn't mean for a minute that we're a good or even an average team, but we have plenty of company down here. We're distinctly better than Miami, and Oakland is by far the worst team in the league. I'd still like our chances versus Tennessee or Houston, and the Detroit and Minnesota games show we're roughly on par there.
  20. I think that's unfair to Bernard Berrian and Lauverneuous Coles.
  21. We had a drive with 125 yards of special teams? 72 yard kick return, 53 yard field goal?
  22. They must have changed it since they reported to the cable company. I'm not impressed that we can't keep our market share in Binghamton.
  23. I would say that it's more difficult to make a tackle in the open field (e.g. for a defensive back) so that it's not fair comparing DBs to DEs. But still, if Clements is that far behind McGee, that's a problem. London Fletcher is a beast...
  24. Realplayer won't let me log in.
