  1. Do you understand how the K-Gun worked? The K stood for Keith, as in McKeller. A dominant TE was a vital part of that offense, and we don't have it. Second, it required a gifted quarterback in Jim Kelly, who was able to call his own plays. JP has yet to prove he can handle that consistently - few QBs ever have. Third, it relied on having a big-time all-purpose back in Thurman Thomas. Willis can run, but he's questionable out of the backfield and is not a great blocker. Finally, it required the best offensive line in the business, and one in great shape as well. We're not there yet. SHowing a few minutes of the no huddle every game is a decent idea. The K-Gun is not.
  2. If Roethlisberger's career ends up like this season, he stops being a first round hero, but he really can't be a bust. He'd just be a freak.
  3. It's not like there was a tiny, slim chance they might have pulled it out. If there's a minute left, you can pretend you might nab two quick onside kicks and hail marys. It's going to the be the last play of the game either way. It doesn't fugging matter.
  4. Cutler had some promise, but a lot of rookie shakes. This is Shanahan's plan to get to the playoffs?
  5. Eric Johnson is a free agent. I think he's a pretty decent option.
  6. As we used to say on USENET...<plonk>
  7. And we do get John McCargo back. I'm not saying he's gonna be a world beater, but he's a quality lineman.
  8. There are three 10-2 teams in the league, and two 9-3 teams. And we play ALL of them. Including two games against New England. So far, we're 5-2 against all other teams. Hardest freaking schedule EVER.
  9. how much better is a low-percentage meaningless touchdown over a high percentage meaningless field goal?
  10. thus fantasy-ONLY.
  11. 37 yards rushing and 3 TDs are the fantasy-only side of the numbers. The receiving yardage tells a different story.
  12. That was NOT the situation to go for it. The defense is playing well, and there's lots of time left in a close game. 4th and 10 is a very low percentage play.
  13. I can't figure out what our troubles are against the run, because it seems like there's too much talent in the front 7 to let it happen. Schobel, Spikes, Crowell, and Fletcher are unquestionable, starting-caliber players. Triplett, Williams, and Hargrove aren't playing badly. What's missing?
  14. http://www.weather.com/weather/wxdetail/USNY1071?dayNum=6 GIve it to me...
  15. Yup. Here's the link to prove why the Giants and Manning have been frustrating: http://www.giants.com/team/coach.asp?coach_id=5
  16. The jury's not out any more; it was a great draft: Whitner: Hit McCargo: Injured/Incomplete Youboty: ?? Simpson: Hit Williams: Hit Ellison: Hit Pennington: Hit Merz/Butler: Well, you know.
  17. What I want to know is what the teams were thinking that drafted #2, 3, and 4 in that draft.
  18. I knew it was that bastard, Shaud Williams, holding us back all this time!
  19. Andy Kaufman.
  20. Probably only signed him so that Belichick can pick his brain about our defensive schemes for 2007.
  21. Here's the cost: Henry and a 2003 1st or Willis and a 2005 3rd.
  22. No, but I will post about how good Wali Lundy is doing this week. Marv, what were you thinking???!!??! ....yeah.
  23. If you thought Randall Cunningham was marginal, how about Bernie Kosar?
