  1. We're not one of the most exciting teams in the league at this point. Deal with it. We'll be better than advertised and surprise some people, but we're not one of the best teams in the league, when most people here are shooting for 9-7.
  2. Green Bay's on the list about a half-dozen times, so we can't really complain there. They're a team that just barely missed the playoffs on tiebreakers.
  3. Yeah, it snows in Buffalo. And the Bills thrive on it. If we were playing Miami at home in September, and suddenly a cold front blew in over lake Erie bringing with it an unseasonable six inches we'd be thrilled. It's football - you want the weather to be as bad as possible when you're at home. Packers fans don't complain about being called the "Frozen Tundra"
  4. Anyone remember this Simpsons?
  5. Well, he might be right, and he might be wrong, but the vast bulk of analysis seems to say that Willis is better than a marginal first-round prospect. Doesn't prove anything, of course, but I do think the burden of proof is on the contrarian - as it was on Marv, who was proved right. Will Coyle?
  6. At least this one's at home and not in New England.
  7. That game's in Buffalo - unless that's what you meant.
  8. You have to figure the Chargers will look bad if they have Turner on the roster next season - he'll leave to a big FA deal in 2008, and the fans will be angry that they let him go 'for nothing' when they could have had even a 2nd round pick. The price goes down when demand drops, and there's not a 'keep him' option, really.
  9. Yeah, down three key players at key positions (four if you count Robaire Smith, , but you don't see anyone talking about how terrible the Titans offseason was, h ow they're probably just getting ready to sell the team, how they're going to compete for the number one overall pick. Blah blah blah.
  10. Back when we were a zone-blitz team (it was between our '46' era and our 'blitz-blitz' era), I imagine that the DEs were forced into coverage every now and then - and Schobel would have been starting throughout. Could he cover? Does he have the speed to control a large portion of the field? That's what you have to figure out if you think he could make an LB.
  11. Isn't Alan Hale the Skipper from Gilligan's Island?
  12. Which 15 states is crack legal in?
  13. I was going to take Tony Hunt, but I can let that stand.
  14. SOrry, I've been busy and haven't been able to stay on top of things. I'll be here for my Bears pick, but it would be awesome if someone PMed me when I'm one or two away, if I haven't been posting.
  15. Samson Satale, C, Hawaii
  16. Hey, if we could have landed Whitner back there, I'd have no objection to getting Ngata at number 8. Similarly, if we could have gotten Whitner in the 3rd and Ngata in the 4th, then we might as well have traded up to #1 and drafted Bush. Atholon doesn't get football.
  17. Confusion reigns in the Cleveland war room, but Romeo Crennel has walked to the Mic - the Cleveland Browns select: David Irons, CB
  18. so, CB or LB, kids?
  19. Three out of four picks. That was fun. See you in the funny pages. Also, I think Mel Kiper and Peter King would talk about how great this Browns draft is, but I'm not convinced that at least one of those three (Quinn, Bush, Tyler) won't bust.
  20. With the #38 pick, Cleveland selects: Michael Bush, RB Louisville
  21. With the #37 overall pick, Chicago selects: Trent Edwards, QB Stanford
  22. With the #36 overall pick, Cleveland selects DeMarcus "Tank" Tyler, DT NC State
  23. Ben Grubbs, OG
  24. For what it's worth, Pack, you got lucky. The Browns came very close to swooping in in the early twenties.
  25. I vote the Broncos take Jarvis Moss. Here's a Mock with that. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/sub/mockdraft.html
