  1. By the way, speaking of annoying ads - does anyone else hate those Bud Light commercials that really seem to market it like it's a flavored bottled water?
  2. Remember, that even if we come back and win, we have to beat the Fish in Toronto, The Jets in the Meadowlands, the Broncos at Mile High, and THEN the Patriots at the Ralph. Last I checked, none of those teams are 3-8.
  3. Did Bobby April look at the offense and the defense and decide it wasn't worth getting out of bed this week? Because I can't really blame him.
  4. What happened on that non-offside? Duke Preston was theonly one who thought the play was starting?
  5. Okay, Lynch is a good player.
  6. What's it called when a defensive end tackles the QB for a loss? I've never seen that happen before.
  7. This is the most praise a RB averaging 2 yards a carry ever received.
  8. Two first downs on a drive! I guess that time out is so the offense can catch their breath.
  9. Are the announcers watching the game? The 49ers are doing well because Sean Hill has had 15 minutes a dropback to find open receivers, not because Gore is averaging two yards a carry.
  10. And that's why I wasted my time yesterday figuring out our exact playoff scenarios.
  11. More: Trouble brewing.
  12. If the Bills go 11-5, they'll be fine. It's not a mathematical guarantee, but it's extremely unlikely that we have anything to worry about. If we go 10-6, we're almost certainly up crap creek - the amount of help we need is almost unreasonable. So root against the Pats and Jets and Dolphins because it's always fun to see them lose, but the playoffs are coming if we take care of our business.
  13. Look, if Plaxico had seriously worried about his safety, you'd think that he would have learned how to use a gun well enough to NOT SHOOT HIMSELF.
  14. It would certainly be another disappointing season, but I think it's enough to keep the plan going for another year, as frustrating as that may be.
  15. People have been praying to Christ for years to help the Bills. Are you sure it's not time to start taking a serious look at Satan?
  16. With the Cowboys suggested, I wonder if JP might not be best served going to a good team with an injury-prone QB for a year or two. Then, he can come out as a UFA again in 2010 or 2011, with some very solid mop-up work on his resume to grab a starting job somewhere. Dallas could offer that. So could Arizona. Maybe even Pittsburgh. Take the journeyman job, and play for a breakout season in his 30s. It worked for Kerry Collins.
  17. And the Cassel era begins in New England.
  18. I don't know enough about college sports to say - do you often rest your starters? This isn't a career where you play until you're done; these are kids who are mostly not going to play pro football, and may only have one or two games left playing football. I don't know if you so cavalierly take one away from them.
  19. Florio at PFT speculates: Did he have a license to carry a concealed firearm? If he was carrying an illegal gun, there's a 3.5 year mandatory minimum. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/11/29/...-years-in-jail/
  20. The guy couldn't stay on two awful defenses. I'll bet he doesn't even know who plays quarterback for his old team.
  21. What a moron. At minimum, the Giants can put him on the non-football injury list, which means they don't have to pay him. They certainly could sue him for his signing bonus back if this is career-threatening. But really, why waste the effort? Cut him immediately, and end all speculation. You're poised to repeat as Super Bowl champs. Get rid of the cancer and forget it was there.
  22. Yes, he's not stupid. But since the other 31 teams aren't either, he's not getting a $20M contract offer and he'll happily stay a Bill, rather than hold out or test the market down the road.
  23. Miami has a better cold weather team than we do. It's embarrassing, but it's true. They'd run all over us, Chad's noodle arm would not be exposed, and our defense's speed would be neutralized.
  24. ? Anyway, I think that Fred Jackson is not really a hot commodity around the league, just a guy who's popular with the hometown fans. He'll get a great contract for a guy who was playing in what, the AMerican Indoor Football League? at a million or two a year, and play with us for four more seasons.
  25. I'd take Holmgren in the role Parcells has in Miami. He's not a great gameday coach, but he can build good teams and has a great eye for building a staff.
