I think that trend will continue and be even more pronounced than it is now. Thinking about buying some acres myself.

The Costco frozen burgers are great. I like the grass fed ones. I always have some in the freezer and there’s a strong chance that’s what I throw on the grill tonight. Wish I had more time to cook tonight, stupid work getting in the way 😡! -

Ever spent time around the burbs of Chicago? It’s a PITA to get into the city. I used to spend a lot of time in the outskirts of the city and I think a huge number of Bears fans would welcome the proposed venue. And I think it would draw year round (throw a top golf nearby, etc) -

Still miss seeing people trying to climb the muddy hill on the way out of the stadium. Good entertainment. Was unfortunately the highlight of many games for about a decade 🤦🏻♂️ -

Maybe they will and have been waiting for the hammer to drop on Ariza 🤔 -
I can also vouch for Fortunas! Haven’t been in years, but have eaten there probably 5-6 times and it’s been great every time. Probably the highlight of the American side for me! I also second visiting Niagara on the lake if you were to tackle the Canadian side.

Pretty crazy to think about. Have to pinch myself sometimes. We deserve it though. Whatever the ultimate outcome is, it sure is fun watching him play QB for the Bills

Ours always travelled well too. Would also come out of her carrier and lay on a lap or even the dashboard, look out the window, etc. Took her on quite a few road trips from Ohio to WNY when she was younger. She’s an old gal though now so she stays at home when we travel. Where in Montana? I’ll be in Whitefish / Glacier next week.

Cannabis consumption on track to overtake alcohol
billsfanmiamioh replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in Off the Wall
I don’t see anyone here advocating for operating motor vehicles, boats, heavy machinery, etc while under the influence. Obviously your work puts you in situations where you are much more likely to encounter people doing just that. It’s certainly a problem. And resources need to keep being devoted to detecting intoxication in real time. However, I don’t feel like that’s a good enough reason to not allow medicinal or adult recreational use in all of the general public. Im starting a course next week that is entirely dedicated to the negative effects of medical cannabis. They certainly exist. I should have some more perspective after the course, but there really isn’t much high quality evidence that shows people who regularly consume cannabis are prone to psychosis. It definitely needs further study, but at this point most of the medial and scientific community assigns a relatively low risk profile to medicinal or adult use. Certainly much less risk than opioids or alcohol. I remember one study that was pretty robust (think it was a double blinded, randomized controlled trial) that we went through that found it’s extremely rare to psychosis as a side effect and it was really with a lot of other factors involved. I’ll try and find it when I have some time. And I don’t really get your argument about “self titrating”. I think almost every state that has a medical cannabis program requires a patient to have an initial and continuing relationship with the clinician (usually doc, few states allow pharmacists now I think) who recommends medical cannabis. This includes entire health history, medications, risk factors which may make cannabis a poor candidate, etc. They work together with the patient to find dosage and delivery that’s appropriate for that person. It’s a pretty individualized process. Call me crazy, but in some ways I’ll take that over some pen happy doctor with a RX pad paid for by a big pharmaceutal company. I like to engage in constructive debate with alternate viewpoints, and I’ve said there’s certainly things to be concerned about with medial or recreational cannabis use. I just think the “world is going to come to an end because of weed” argument is antiquated and based mostly in fiction. -

Yeah I’m sure if he has 15 other bottles of hot sauce in the fridge he wouldn’t be able to tell it’s just Tabasco with a Diggs label slapped on it. He’s probably glad you cleared that up for him 🙄 -

I didn’t even get past the website to see the study was published in the Lancet. I see it was a case control study which inherently will have some bias and probably wouldn’t be considered “high quality” evidence. I’ll read it when I get some time but I’m guessing it will have some pretty big holes in it. -

There are companies currently working on breath detection devices. Able to detect some of the metabolites formed after use. Lots of challenges to overcome but I think a couple are getting close. I bought some stock from one of them, figured it was worth taking a flyer on. -

There’s nothing biologically that would cause someone who has taken LSD to have “enhanced” effects from using cannabis (at least what is known at this point). They are totally different signaling systems. THC activates CB1 and CB2 receptors of the endocannabinoid system. The mechanism for receptor systems activated by LSD still aren’t well understood. A lot of the negative societal associations with cannabis stem from flat out bad info that gets turned into old wives tales. Cannabis is not without negative effects or risks, and it’s not some magic cure to everything. But in our pill popping, RX drug addicted society what is? Cannabis already is and has the potential to be a very beneficial medicine for people with a wide variety of ailments. As the field becomes more legitimized and more research is able to be done, we will hopefully learn more about how to best use it. We’re only scratching the surface. A legal and regulated market with oversight, testing, and product quality control dictated by scientific principals is an important part of the process. -
Was in town for a night last week and finally got to try nine eleven. Wow, they were fantastic. Great quality wing, hot and crispy, plenty of sauce and great blue cheese. Got hot and medium and both were awesome. Hot is not too hot, so the chili heads might be disappointed but I really loved the flavor. I think nine eleven now sits atop my rankings for traditional, mild/med/hot wing. Also timed it on a perfect night too. Not busy, walked right into a couple seats at the bar and probably only 20-25 minutes for food. Polished off about 5-6 blue lights and about 15 wings, what else could one want!? Bar bill still at the top of my “alternative flavor” list. Will be hitting it after the game next Saturday so will get a good refresher there too.
