  1. This is your job for today; Try to make any fan who feels good about bringing in a low risk/high reward player for a year feel like crap about it.
  2. If only you were the GM of the Bills, we'd be in so much better shape.
  3. i hope so. if he's as good as John Brown, Cole Beasley, Emmanuel Sanders, or even Mack Hollins....we should be in good shape.
  4. You and I see sports (and probably life) differently. You asked your questions. Here are mine; 1.) Is my team either working towards or putting themselves in direct position to win a title? 2.) Is the GM MUCH smarter than me? 3.) Do the moves they make/don't make make sense? 4.) Do they admit mistakes quickly and move to remedy them? And a personal one for me; 5.) Am I able to move beyond the "you are either a champion or a loser" mentality of sports, and enjoy that my team is damn good?
  5. Where do you disagree?
  6. Tired, lazy take; Spencer Brown is a top 5 RT Khalil Shakir is a top 5 slot Taron Johnson is a top 5 Nickel James Cook is a top 7 running back Josh Allen is a top 3 QB Christian Benford is a top 10 CB (probably higher) Greg Rousseau is perhaps the best run stopping DE in football And that's not to mention O'Cyrus Torrence, Tyrell, Bernard, Dalton Kincaid, Dawson Knox, Ed Oliver, etc. We didn't stumble into the AFC championship game my friend.
  7. We see sports differently. The Bills' goal is of course to win a super bowl. But that's hard. Should they move on from McD? That's a legitimately good question. I tend to think yes, but I'm also fully aware that wholesale changes can be dangerous. None of this is easy. But I think Beane is a top GM in the league, and his teams continually compete at the highest level. The Bengals haven't been to the playoffs the last two years with an elite QB, two elite receivers, and a DE who every Bills fan wants. Each year is different, so I don't see your "running it back" theme. They completely uprooted the team last year, rebuilt their entire receiving core. And they were the 2nd best offense in football (behind the Lions who we beat). The Cooper trade was a clear "go for it" move on the level of the Rams bringing in an aging Von Miller for half a season. No GM can win a title by himself. So much has to happen to be the 1 team out of 32 that is left standing at the end. And the idea that the Bills or Beane are failures because they haven't found that perfect storm of elements (which includes luck) is absurd to me. To use each championship run (like the Rams or Chiefs) to nitpick and say "Why don't we just do that?" completely dismisses the nuances, intricacy, and specificity of each team's unique situation, and the opportunities in front of them. My guess is that as long as the Bills have Allen and Beane, they'll figure out at least 1 title. And the rest of the league will scream, "Why don't we just do what the Bills did?"
  8. I am not on board with you on the draft. Beane, imo, gets cherry picked for his misses and rarely celebrated for his hits. Yet fans semi-blindly are under the impression that teams like the Chiefs knock it out of the park. CEH was an awful first round pick, and if Beane would have done it, he would be flamed relentlessly. How's Felix Aundike Uzomah working out for them? He's shaping up to be their Kair Elam. And Skyy Moore in the 2nd?? And trading a 3rd for Kadarius Toney. They hit on Trey Smith in the 6th just like we hit on Benford. They jumped us for Mcduffy. And they were smart enough to take a center we didn't need at the end of the 2nd. Good on them for Bolton. And of course there's the Worthy trade, and the jury is still out on that, although of course that's looking good for them. But I don't think they draft any better than us. The two first round whiffs alone are egregious.
  9. I'm happy to admit that superstar hunting can be effective. It can also be disastrous. Can you admit that not paying 30 million a year and a 2nd round draft pick for a guy who hasn't gone over a 1000 yds in 3 of his 6 seasons and doesn't run routes well might be good business?
  10. And I'm guessing you forgot that the Chiefs traded away their superstar to remain financially responsible and a well rounded team...and guess what...they won 2 more titles without him.
  11. I think Beane goes for it every year. Again, we were in the AFC championship game last year. He spent first round capital for a wide receiver and traded for a big name (who did not help) at the deadline. Btw, Cooper was coming off a much better season than DK. You mention the Chiefs...what big name did the sign early on that opened their championship window? The Rams are one of the few stories (in 50 years of fandom) where I've seen that tactic actually work. And the Eagles got Saquon. Great move. He didn't cost 30 million and a 2nd round draft pick. DK is a very good player. I don't think a great player. And I don't believe he's the difference between the Bills and a title, especially considering that they'd have no money (and one less draft pick) to fix the defense.
  12. If rinse and repeat gets you to the AFC championship game every year, keep rinsing and keep repeating. Btw, see Diggs, Amari Cooper, Emanuel Sanders, and draft picks like Cook, Shakir, and Kincaid for weapons. The DK deal is a bad one and would have handcuffed the Bills on both sides of the ball for years. But he's a star that you've heard of, so that means "going for it" in your mind. We went for it with Von Miller. How'd that work out for us?
  13. What a waste...huh? Having the ball at the end of the AFC championship game and one Dalton Kincaid drop away from a super bowl. How dare he put that kind of trash team together.? If only Allen were on 1 of the other 29 teams that are worse than the Bills, he'd win a title for sure.
  14. Yes, his plan was not to give 30 million dollars a year to a one trick pony (it's a hell of a trick though)
  15. The big story here is that Muki broke the news!
  16. Pure conjecture on your part.
  17. Cherry picking past drafts is silly. Every single GM passed on both of those guys twice. I don't see you giving any credit for Shakir in the 5th, Benford in the 6th, Spencer Brown at the end of the third. I could go on...
  18. Appreciate it. Fascinating that this wasn't reported anywhere else I could find. Gotta hand it to Ryan Talbot. He can get the scoop at times. As for Ngakoue. I'd be extremely surprised.
  19. Where did you see that the Bills released Morrow? And why on Earth does that mean it's to sign Ngakoue? This all seems like what you hope will happen.
  20. He ran in the 4.3's coming out of high school. I saw that 40 time coming out of college and wasn't sure what to believe. But he was not deceptively fast on that TD. He was actually fast.
  21. That team has aged well in Bills fans' minds, and I'm not sure it's deserved. It was not a done deal that they would have beaten the Bengals in the next round. That team wasn't great. After losing in OT to Tampa Bay, they were 7-6. They took brutal losses (Titans, Jags, Colts, Pats, and the opener to Pittsburgh). Devin Singletary was the feature back. Knox was the tight end. Cody Ford, Star Lotulei,, Dane Jackson, and a washed Mario Addison were starters. Jerry Hughes was our other DE. The player from that team I miss most is Emanuel Sanders. But they weren't a juggernaut. They were just on a heater to end the season. And they had the same Achilles heal that this team has. Good QB's can dice them.
  22. Totally! That was the Diggs staring off in space while McDermott played therapist year. Man, I'd take that pick 6 against Lamar again. I'll take either the Colts or Broncos to open. Just as long as the Bengals don't sneak in. Also, the Colts will probably have Richardson ready to go.
  23. I don't mind that Denver lost. A couple of reasons; 1. It locks the Broncos in to the 7th seed If they can win in K.C. next week. 2. It will be a preseason game for K.C. and a must win for Denver 3. Denver will have to play hard. Bills will rest (if they beat the damn Jets) 4. The Broncos aren't very good. I'll take the rookie QB with minimal weapons in a playoff atmosphere in Buffalo any day. 5. I want to avoid the Chargers
  24. Michael and his marry men did quite well in Chicago. And Tom and his band of marry men got plenty done in New England. The "it's all Josh Allen" narrative is getting tiring. Take Lamar off the Ravens, Mahomes off the Chiefs, Goff off the Lions, and Hurts off the Eagles and let me know how their superior men fare.
  25. They play in Chicago and Green Bay every year. They'll be fine.
