Can someone explain to me the Pats strategy?

Or is it...filling holes that are a need on your team and you are utilizing free agents to do it, the way the NFL and the player association designed it. Also Same thing everyone else in the NFL is doing. .. -
You are proclaiming these are dumb moves, either by saying they payed too much or the player isn't worth it, here again Mar 15th with nobody having played a down yet.
-
It's not even that....They never had an issue ever putting a line together, They have won SBs with patch work lineman during their first 3 SBs. For the fans who think it's all about Brady gonna be really upset come this season.
-
Sounds like you are trying to talk yourself into these arent good moves...it's Mar 15th so that must mean their roster's complete?

Not even 8 mill he is getting that some fans wanted to jump around and think the pats were being stupid about. -
Cam About To Re-Sign With New England

BB should make a move that is completely different than his philosophies of the past, but the big question is will he do it. I have nooo clue. Of course nobody does..He keeps it tight lip around this time and he doesn't talk to media in the offseason. regardless i am sure he will not "mortgage" the future on anyone he feels isn't worth it. We just gotta wait and see. I have come to realize in sports in general. Its how fans pervious some of these athletes and don't know them at all. There should be nothing wrong with having a personality as long as you haven't broken a law or beat your wife or kids, etc. Who should truly care how a QB acts. His performance on the field is all that needs to be judge. With all athletes, but some fans just can't differentiate the two. -

Cam has not been an issue personality wise in NE..I die laughing when someone tries to make this claim all the time. The coach loves him, the players love him. He's been great with the media. The fans have no issue with him beside his play. He has been fine. The only problem is his play. -

If they draft a QB, Cam plays a few games until the QB is ready. They are still eyeing the situation in SF. That's been their main goal all along. Besides maybe a D.Watson or a R.WIlson for obvious reason, they aren't interested in anything else out there for QB unless someone really shakes loose and becomes really cheap. (wishful thinking on their part) I know Trey Lance or a that Jones kid from Alabama keeps being attached to the patriots but I have no clue if BB would trade up to get Lance and I also hear that getting Jones at 15 is too high for him, plus i would like to see a QB that could get out of the pocket if they have to. Jones isn't that type of QB. for me i would of been fine with a bridge QB for now, Mariota (but I am hearing the pats don't view him as a true leader), Jimmy G...to be honestly i just want to see a QB who could actually get the ball to a receiver at this point. So yes, having to watch Cam at any point this season is not what I am looking for. Also i would like Sam Darnold too, but I know damn well Jets won't trade him to NE. -
Cam About To Re-Sign With New England

Yup as of right Mar 12, 2021 he is their starter, teams do not officially start playing to September 9th so do with the info you have as you will. So who is thinking hard about this? Cam was terrible last year, but won them 7 games. In a league where QBs are starting to get north of 40 mill. and as i said before there are backup getting paid more, I am trying to see where 8 mill is financially hindering and who said I wanted Cam back? I fully understand what this move means. But *shrug shoulders* -

its really common sense if you actually thought about it. They got a backup. No more no less. -

That is true, but that has nothing to do with the money. 8 million is pennies and doesn't hinder them getting another QB or any player the bills should not want them to get that is the point. And no team should want to see their backup QB. They were able to win 7 games with him, could of won a couple more so this isn't as bad as you want it to look like. So? As i said to NoHuddleKelly12. 8 mill is pennies (especially with other teams paying more for their backups) and doesn't stop them from adding more players. This is less to do about nothing while the free agency period has not even started yet., plus the draft and people are jumping and acting like the season will begin next week. -

he is getting 7 or 8 mill for the year everything else is tied up incentives.....he is brought back to be the backup/security blanket not the Pats starter. -

Plans to come back to this thread when it because obviously they are signing him as a backup and not the starter. -
Yea, like most. They would be upset that their team lost. No different than any other place with fans. Like how would you react if Allen won you four and had a fallen out w the bills organization, left, came back with another team and beat the bills.
-
Ha ha Yea all those SBs Brady won in NE was 52-10. Even the last SB were the pats shut out the rams and Brady didn't throw a touch down. Yup it was all Brady. Wow.
-
I am calling bullsh*t! I live in NE and the patriots/Brady vs BB has been the only thing dominating the sports stations here, both stations and in small groups of people talking sports. Even casual fans having been talking patriots since TB is back in the SB.

Is it time for Gronk to come home?
Ghost_002! replied to BuffaloRebound's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is not going to play any place that Brady is not. When the Pats tried to trade him a few years back. He threaten to retire if traded away without being able to play w Brady. -
You realize they do not have to go out and get the best of the best at the skill position right. That is actual one way you can tell if a coach is actually good. Because he gets the best out of his players. If you wanna take the hate off for a second and just look at it...Isn't that what he does quite a bit..get the best out of his players? See this past season...with that roster they had no business winning that many games. If they were to upgraded they couldn't do better...i mean it's only a naturally look at things. And of course it can go left as well I am not saying it's all gonna work out, but i expect it to be better than it was this past season.

Went to a SB and lost with McNabb. Check Andy Reid's playoff record before Mahomes. Again right back to the Schottenheimer comparison... great winning percentage but not all that great in big games. BB coaching tree doesn't lessen his achievements or his status so what does that have to do with anything? If his assistants were stupid enough to try to act like him and think it would work, that is on them not him. Bill Parcelll didnt go or win another SB after BB left, so.? But BB coaching tree does have Bill O'Brien, who as a head coach with the Texans had a decent record and do we keep forgetting Brian Flores with the Dolphins now? I am not taken a shot a Andy Reid but it makes no sense to start taking golf swings at BB and his coaching after one season into his rebulding...and why does he need to be penalized for have Brady for 20 years? Fans don't penalize Don Schula or Bill Walsh for having Dan Marino and Joe Montana, Tony Dungy for having Peyton Manning. BB has a SB game plan inducted into the HOF.
-
They had opportunities to win 9 this year had things bounced a little different for them...and with teams continually to crap on themselves for no reason (see the Pittsburgh Steelers) It's not to far fetch to think so. But I am not putting a number on how many wins. I am just looking at them being more competitive than their were last year.

Because of his injury he can want whatever he likes, but again. He was inquired. he is not going to be that expensive to obtain and the Pats have the cap space. What are you not getting. They have the money, plus he is damage good according to you so why would the pats or any team want him? also I never said no other teams wouldn't look into him, but again doesn't mean the Pats can not get him...it was already mentioned and i heard this on the radio-if he does shake loose, BB knows if he truly wants Jimmy G he can obtain him and Jimmy G would come back here because he feels he owes BB for getting him his big contract. That doesn't mean that will absolutely be the turn out, but there is a good chance he could go back to NE if both sides are that interested. and your mistake is you are thinking like fan; BB is not going after any "Allen Robinson" or "D. Watson" type of players. He clearly knows their asking price and draft capital is too high. Anything they could get on the free agency market and in the draft is better than what they have.
