You are like the Dolphins who beat the Pats every year, no matter how bad they are... that's all you are, a lucky one timer

You realize you are playing this same "lucky" team trying to win the division this year right..after only 18 months of being on top after 20 years before that?

Pats are old news and got lucky in a storm... if ya make into the playoffs, you will be an easy out... very easy out

And please tell me what are the bills? See the pats weren't suppose to compete in the division this year with a rookie QB but here they are

And oh I see..everytime the bills lost it meant the pats got lucky and won enough to catch up to the bills and move past them, got it!

Just so I have this straight, Pats fans aren't worried about Allen but Bills fans should worry because your QB "zipped" a pass?

Oh we WILL destroy little brother NE this weekend. The Bills are by far more talented than the Pats and the Bills will serve notice this weekend, barring a complete dismantling of our team by COVID rules.

    It…won’t….be…close…

Yes cause they did the samething to all those other teams they lost to right?

You implied that Jones has been deemed "good," and we're just not acknowledging that because we're rival fans.

I think the hype on him to this point is what isn't valid, or realistic.  I think my take is unbiased, and it's actually the take that is most consistent w/ the scouting on Jones coming in.

Time's gonna tell on this one.  I know that after initially being concerned about Jones, I no longer have any worry about him at all.  I think at best that he'll be a marginal starter.  He's exactly what scouts said he was going to be.

I explained what I meant and the purpose of that statement. Enjoy the rest of the thread.

The bolded is hilarious, and typical of what I've seen from Pats fans online.  So many are convinced he'll be as good as Brady or close to it, based on the fact that his stats are better than some of Brady's 1st year stats.

Jones is such an average prospect right now.  He gets more time than just about any QB in the NFL, and he's hyped through the roof for completing game-manager kinds of passes under almost no duress.  When he is pressured somewhat, we see what we saw on Saturday - less accuracy, crucial picks, and a QB who looked lost halfway through the game.

Personally, I'm happy about the hype.  He'll never play well enough to match it. Could he still pan out & be a solid starter?  Of course.  But he could just as easily end up as a career backup.  He'd be floundering in NY or Jax, or almost anywhere else.

You too have no idea what that statement meant....that statement was not comparing him to tom brady...it was to say that rival fans will discredit everything about a team in their division before conceding anything in favor of that team.

POINT: when Brady was here, i am sure plenty of rival fans rather had in front of a car before coming to the realizing he was good.

edit: I am wrong to generalize. SOME rival fans.

What was Belichicks excuse for throwing the ball 3 times in the first meeting?  Was that the excuse?  Or the reason?  Oh yeah…. He didn’t trust the noodle.  He’s smart. Enjoy the rest of your time with BB.  When he’s gone, you’ll be back to the basement.  He’s a helluva coach.

Yup he is a helluva coach....if they are to go back to the basement, it's better to have at least tasted victory than to not know what it's like at all.

Jones is bad under pressure, as well.  He can't really move in the pocket, so it's fairly easy to sack him if you can get back there - which is the biggest challenge against that line.  The line is one of the best in the league, imo.

Yo..i can't with your evaluation of this guy, It's generally so off base. He is not as mobile as other QBs obviously, but there is plenty of film where he has either moved up in the pocket or ran out of the pocket, got rid of the ball, or made the following play after throwing an Int. or sacked good. Please stop with these non factual post about the guy. This has to be how it was when Brady first started out on forums such as this.

its not about what ifs. Its about the claim that your offense did enough. They did a very small amount.

I'd say the same about the Bills-Pats game last year. The offense did not do enough to win. They required a stop by our defense to at the very least avoid OT. I would not pretend the offense kept that game out of reach for the Pats.

That was never my point and i think that was never the posters original point or where ever you got this idea from. They did enough to score more than the Bills. Offense job is to score points, defense job is to stop the other teams from scoring points. That is what took place. You are arguing semantics just cause you do not want to concede the fact how the bills lost the game, or concede anyone's statement on how the bills lost the game if it's not pro-Bills.

  11. 10 minutes ago, What a Tuel said:

The fact that the bills got stopped at your 15 yard line on a game winning drive means your defense did enough to win. If they did not, then your offense would have been outscored. So while yes, you did end with more points, there was some chance at the end that you may not have. Hindsight is 20/20. If you didn't know the outcome of the game, would you think your offense scored enough points 14-10 with Allen driving down to your 15 yard line with 2:00 minutes left? I'd guess not.

At the bold, yes and also the offense because it was the offense that put up those points the bills were trying to overcome..(both sides did their job) And you just got done saying it's not about "what' ifs" now you are using "what ifs" !?!? Yes because BB is the coach that has gone through this many times and won championships and division titles in these same scenarios (offense driving to score) also that's why you play the whole 60 minutes of the game, case in point. last year in their first meeting. Cam Newton and the Pats were about score late in the 4th to win the game, but fumbled the ball back to buffalo.  My point, you never know what could happen.

That’s not really what I was saying but ok fair enough if you’re gonna go the ‘a win is a win and nothing else matters’ route 😂 pats did not do nearly enough on offense to win that game but our execution was absolutely terrible was my point…I’m not impressed at all that they won a game only running the ball when it only led to 14 points and crossing midfield 3 times I think that’s getting wildly overblown.  I will say though that I am more worried about the rematch then most because of that…you don’t see bill getting surprised like that often and they still won the game so I’m at least partly with you I guess lol

Respectfully this sounds insane. They scored more points than the Bills-so clearly the Pats offense did because the Bills couldn't tie or best the points that were already put up. You don't have to be impress by it. Cool. That doesn't matter and you're telling me the BIlls dont get surprised like that, that often. Then what was it when you lost to the Colts basically the same way?

5 minutes ago, What a Tuel said:

Its not "what ifs", its the notion that the Pats dominated the game. If you are not implying they did then my apologies but your words seem to be saying they did. They did not, but yes the bills offense came up short on a potential game winning drive. It was a close oddball game. I am anticipating a different type of game next sunday.

I am not implying that, but to say the pats just got lucky in that game is crazy to me.

Wait, I thought we were talking about what happened in the game? Now you want to just talk about the end score? Pick one. Your offense without that long run was not anything special enough to warrant "The bills waiting to the 4th quarter to adj. to what the pats were doing to them on offense"....

ok..it was nothing special but yet they did wait that long to adjust. Ok i wasn't arguing how good the pats offense was...so this is a mute point, and truly doesn't matter because through out that whole game the Bills didnt do enough to win the game..i mean i dont know what else in that game you wanna discuss if it ultimately resulted in the bills losing...i mean you will just be playing the "what if game" at this point. And cool. the pats offense didnt do anything in the 2nd half, apparently didn't need to.

Belichicks…that’s my point.  He was sure we would not be able to move the ball through the air into the wind and we did it with ease in the 4th quarter.  If he knows we’re going to have two legitimate chances in a row in the red zone late to win the game he completely reworks his whole gameplan imo.  We absolutely sh*t ourselves execution wise in the red zone there I think we win that game more than half the time.

ha ha what???? The bills didnt win the game, good job you got down to the redzone BUT DIDN'T SCORE because of his defense...he wasn't in vegas betting on how many times the Bills will make it into the redzone. He played to beat the bills and did. I dont know how it's Belichicks fault" the bills lost is some how looked at as a negative toward BIll Belichick's game plan in that game.....wow

We aren't afraid of this bud. You are right, our offense didn't get it done from the 15 yard line at the end. But you weren't doing anything to us on offense. One long run and 2 field goals.

    1st Drive

    2 carries 7 yards (punt)

    2nd Drive

    3 carries 5 yards (punt)

    3rd drive

    3 carries 69 yards (td)

    4th drive

7 carries 40 yards (field goal)

    5th drive

    3 carries 4 yards (punt)

    6th drive

    4 carries 25 yards (punt)

    7th drive

    5 carries 17 yards (punt)

    8th drive

13 carry 59 yards (field goal)

    9th drive

    2 carries 6 yards (punt)

Afraid of what? Who said you were? Yup they didnt score again, and guess what NEVER DID THE BILLS and lost. I mean do we honestly understand how the end of the score works and what took place in the game for the score to be what the score was?

The bills never factoring into their game plan is the bills fault?

Huh, then whose fault was it?

    6 minutes ago, Generic_Bills_Fan said:

The bills never factoring into their game plan is the bills fault? Lol this is that classic ‘hindsight is 20/20’ type example for me…I saw that game as belichick ran his own team straight out of the building and got lucky honestly…they dodged so many bullets. If anything I think McDermott overadjusted for the wind offensively at least…josh was throwing lasers into the wind in the second half which we didn’t trust him with in the first half for whatever reason.  I’m actually more worried about the rematch than most because I think we caught belichick with his pants down in this one and that will not happen again

What bullet? The Bills didnt score when you needed to...the last play of the game Allen had to rush the pass because he was going to be sacked allowing the Pats like 4th string corner to break off from Beasley and deflect the pass? The pats lead the whole way? The bills waiting to the 4th quarter to adj. to what the pats were doing to them on offense is pretty telling of how ill prepare they were coached up to be.

We had a nice collection of 20 offensive plays where if we made one of them we win that game.  That was nowhere remotely close to an easy win and I for one am not at all impressed by the pats gameplan in that game.  They crossed midfield 3 total times.  I think belichicks entire gameplan was based on the fact that we wouldn’t be able to move the ball through the air into the wind and he badly miscalculated and he was sweatin it out in that 4th quarter for sure

They won the game solely running the ball, they knew the weather was going to be a factor and the bills which were the home team never factored that into their game plan. That says a whole lot. You think some of those misses and drop passes the weather didnt have anything to do with it? Any way you slice it if you are to be objective, the weather had a lot to do with how both teams played. And as i said, seemed to me only one team prepared for it better than the other.

He's literally the most overrated player I have seen in decades.

He has more time in the pocket that basically any QB in the NFL.  Even w/ that, he gave the game away with 2 crucial picks early yesterday.

Yay for him - he made a big throw to Harry late.  Too late. He had already given the game away.

There is as much chance that he becomes a career backup as there is that he's playing for NE in 5 years.

All your opinion and you are welcomed to it. Reality is...no Pat fan is in fear over the bills QB being better in good or bad weather. Schemes and play can help neutralize all that stuff. It's been like that  since the first pro football game was ever played.

The best roster/player/ team doesn't always win.

  18. 16 minutes ago, Success said:

Well, you're juggling the goalposts all over the place here.

My only point was that the wind hurts the rook much more.  Because he has a weak arm.  So, NE basically HAS to establish their run game, and get a lead.

If the Bills take a lead, and Mac has to throw?  Much more limiting for that team.  Allen can throw all game, regardless of conditions.

Mac threw a ton of yards in garbage time, yes.  Good point.

Not moving the goal post..your premise...they way I took it was. NE fans need to fear Allen's big arm compared to Mac..which in general why do fans need to fear any QB when BB is the coach.

So i replied..but you are talking about the weather. You have no idea how bad the weather is going to be and how it's going to affect either QB.  Allen does throw pics no matter the weather.

And You honestly have no idea how Mac can play n how he is going to play. I can see fans are going to be so locked in on the windy game in Buffalo and use it as a negative against Jones, again.

"His noodle" arm, "I can't wait to see how he responds being down 14"

Well in the indy game He threw for almost 300 yrds..2TDs and the last TD the ball was zipped right into Henry before the defender could get there.

But hey...its much better to down size him..

So, it doesn't matter what New England does on offense?

    I don't think you're thinking this through.

So if BB slows Allen down or gets his defense to make Allen throws one of his usual picks you think that won't decide the game? Since it's looking more and more like Allen gotta do everything for the Bills..

And I know some here don't think much of Jones..but if Cam Newton moved the ball on you guys today. Mac won't be able to?

He had almost 300 yards and 2 TDs after throwing two pics in the first 1/2 against the Colts in indy.

So he can surely move the ball enough against the bills In NE..where the coach makes them practice outside in bad weather to be ready for it.
