Teams adjust. Teams will find Mac Jones weakness. Like all QBs there going to adjust and have to find something to learn and improve. Just like this year Allen cover 2 or tampa 2, he's adjusting and improving on it. Getting good underneath routes. It will go bad (tampa 2, cover 2) vs teams will wear  there d out by going 15 plays or such as well using the clock.

Yea it's the natural progression. As soon as there is enough film on him or any other player.  That's when we know for sure  if they can hack it. The ole, everyone has a game plan until they get punched in the face"  quote -  Mike Tyson.

ha ha so funny that-that is a great quote coming from Mike Tyson of all people from back in the days.

I haven't been watching the sports' shows much. This take is reasonably fair, if correct. I don't think Mac Jones has the option of not taking what the defense gives him. Intelligent game manager is what he is. If he is asked to make the wow plays, more often than not I suspect he will fail.

Yea. This is not college anymore. Those windows close up quick in the NFL. I honestly do not understand why more coaches do not have their young QBs take it slower.

Don’t watch the GMF segment about the upcoming game.

They showed just about every negative play of ours this season. Brought up Belichick’s dominance of McDermott without bringing up Brady at. Brought up how nobody runs against the Patriots without bringing up how the Titans just ran for almost 300 yards a week ago.

If Bills play a clean game they win this game by 10+ points.

After i read this post, i actually went back and watched that segment. That was not at all how it went down. They were being realistic about the game and the state of each team at the current moment. Michael Robinson said he was still riding with the bills, that just Josh Allen had to stop throwing picks and take what the defense gives him..something all young QBs don't do (funny that is what Mac Jones does, but gets kill for it) The other host, Peter Schrager was just making a statement saying if have to beat the Pats to end all of this...

Yes, Jones is playing a smart, limited game and they are winning. Jones has looked good. The nauseating part for most non-patriots* fans is that the guy is being painted as an all time great when he hasn’t shown that he can do anything other than check down and avoid turnovers.

He has shown more than just check downs, but i get it. The media is over doing it. I swear they are trying to make up for all the crap they gave BB over the Brady issue. Not going to lie, when i seen Rex Ryan praising BB i felt someone was messing with me. But i get it, If anyone turned into Boston sports radio 98.5 around 2. You would love it, they dear anyone to call in given Jones too much credit so they could rip them (the callers) apart for it.

Maybe I can help. Jones isn't tearing up the stat sheet. So many want to always emphasize the stats. In this case, his stats or lack of are deceiving. The young stud QB has lead his team to 6 consecutive wins. That is a feat in itself. He has done everything asked of him and more. He looks every part of a winner. He's poised, makes great reads, limits turnovers, and is pretty accurate. I think Kay's statement is accurate. Hope that helps.

I mean the concept is pretty simple. Don't go out there and make mistakes as oppose to your counterparts. I mean i get it. The media is not helping, but people were kiling him during the draft. So if he went out there and started throwing it all over the place and created a bunch of INTs, they would be killing him. He's actually playing smart and they still are killing him.

Cripes...our "little one season of success."

I'm so glad I'm not a Pats fan.  Teams can actually win too much for their fanbase's good.

emm...depends. I mean i get a lot from the fan base here to be extremely bothered by the national media, and feeling disrespected. (still haven't read anything yet)

i mean it really is a "what have you done for me lately" kind of thing in sports as far as how the national media is going to look at things. It seems like a lot of Bills fans(not everyone)  can't deal with that. (BB and the patriots were getting killed right after Brady won a SB, from the offseason to  their 2-4 record by the national media...then it got turned around).. As i said, win(not just the NE game...) and all that goes away.  I guess.

I haven't really seen that much improvement, so we'll have to disagree there.  But he was playing well from the start.  His game this past Sunday wasn't that different from earlier games.  Since the Bills weren't playing, I was checking out one of the Pats boards during that game - at halftime, a pretty fair # of fans were dismayed w/ how Mac was playing.  Over the course of the game, he threw what should have been 3 easy picks, including an easy pick 6 in the red zone that the defender just dropped (which would have changed the dynamics of that game).   He rebounded in the 2nd half, but his biggest play was the 10-yarder to a wide open Bourne, that Bourne made a spectacular TD run out of.

He's a good QB.  As I keep saying, right now, he's playing like the scouts predicted: most pro-ready and ready to start on day 1, but lowest ceiling.  I've seen comparisons to Garropolo, Dalton & Alex Smith, which I think are all fairly accurate to this point.  He's a game manager.

I have already mentioned his improvement from week 1 to now. To add he is running the 2 min. drill as oppose to the beginning of the season where they were content with just running the ball and settling for whatever the score was at the point.

His best throw was his first TD to Bourne over the defender in the back of the end zone to where only Bourne to get it. Then his sec best was the bomb to Meyers past the defenders miss time jump. Meyers said after that, he was not expecting the ball to come to him because he was only suppose to clear out the defender for Jones to hit whoever underneath. Jones said him and McDaniels talked about going for plays like that, if it looks right to him.

and he is only a rookie but somehow people feel they know what his ceiling is, ok.

But I thought all their best players were injured?

    Huh?

Come on man...you are trying way too hard and it's not working. JC Jackson was not the pats best player or best corner last season. where do you see me saying otherwise. It's not the same roster...hence the record now this time compared to their record last year at this time. I don't know what else to say to you.

  9. Patrick Swayze, I don't know why but for some reason i always have to watch "Roadhouse" when it comes on. Doesn't matter what time of the day or how many days its been on. I always have to watch it.

feel like Peter Griffin saying "Roadhouse" all the damn time!

Everyone forgetting about the chiefs I see …

I still think they benefited greatly playing the packers without Rodgers that time. Although their defense looked better against the cowboys (it's the cowboys) they are definitely alive and kicking, still have questions about their defense.

to me until otherwise...i say the Chiefs n the Bills and if you want throw the patriots next, cool. But i gotta go with the Chiefs n the Bills because both are the division champs and are still very much alive for SB contention until someone beats them outright.

At least the takes by @Ghost_002! And @PatsFanNH have balanced and reasonable takes.

Come on, the Pats performance is directly correlated to the (head) coaching. There is little evidence to say that the Pats** team is better than the Bills.

looking better and playing better yes, but overall a better team. No, i don't think the pats are better. But it's great to see what these two games will bring. Because it's gonna answer ALOT of our questions. Are the Bills back on track  and ready to contend for the SB or Is there more they need to figure out. Are the patriots really among the elite or did they just benefit from injuries and weak overall rosters from other teams and still need some tweaking themselves.

for me if all things are equal.....i think or thought the pats ceiling for this year was a wildcard game and the bills win the division. But these next games for them overall, not just with the Bills will definitely tell me the deal.

    And now Gilmore is gone.

Ok. what are you saying? He is gone and they statically have the number 2 defense.

I wouldn't much stock into that game and it's the only game of the year where the Pats defense has allowed a 300+ yard passer and those type of numbers.

Also worth noting it came before their current 6 game win streak and even with Prescott having that type of output it still took overtime to barely win which tells you how scary good this Pats team really is.

I think some fans do not understand that teams don't play the way they do now or later in the season as they did earlier in the season. Coaches are still doing a lot of "figuring out"what works and doesn't work, besides injuries and stuff of that nature. BB has already been known to use the first few games as "preseason" to figure out what works and doesn't work for his teams.

So is our defense...still ranked #1 in the NFL in a wide array of categories, including only allowing a ridiculous 4.6 yards per play.

Although the loss of Tre is going to hurt.

I do not think i have said otherwise about the Bills defense. You made reference to last season patriots defense which isn't the same as this years defense and guess who is statically right there with the Bills defense? Patriots. It's literally one and two right now as far as defensive rankings are concerned.

  14. 3 hours ago, Generic_Bills_Fan said:

Still a fairly soft secondary though…they couldn’t cover diggs with their two best dbs last year.  I think being unbalanced is actually going to work out in our favor for once…they seem to be beating up on teams like the browns and titans that rely on consistently being able to get that 4 or 5 yard rush when they need it.  If we don’t get brown or Feliciano back I will def be concerned though don’t get me wrong. I think we’re really underselling how whack our offensive line talent has been most of this season and reinforcements are coming

Two different defensives from last year and Gilmore was injured in both Bills games, so the bills never faced their best secondary last year, they faced whatever they could put out there last season. Especially the blowout game. They were so done with injuries and Covid that by the time the bills played them again, they were using safeties as linebackers because they didn't have enough linebackers left.

I appreciate your belief in him, but he doesn't play against Dak or Brady.

And man, was Brady off that game.  I don't know if it was nerves or BB knowing him so well - but that game is probably a blowout 9x out of 10.  The Pats scored 17 points - saying he went "toe to toe w/ Brady" kind of glosses over that.

He really hasn't proven anything, except for efficiency & accuracy in an offense where he's not asked to do much, and that is designed specifically for what he does well.  He has faced almost zero adversity in the NFL to this point. And he is protected as well as just about any other QB in the league.  I can't believe the time he has in the pocket when I watch some of those games.

You are wrong, he has improved. Each week they are given him more and trusting him more with the offense. If you really were to look at him from week 1 to now. He is a different QB; from his reads to what they are asking him to do. He has always been accurate and efficient. And again, he is not the focal point of the offense. Not because he lacks ability, it's because they are bring him along slowly. It's the same approach they have had with all their QBs.

They would do the same if Trevor Lawrence was their QB. You are right he hasn't faced any adversity yet, Monday will be a great test. And i remembered you speaking of his pocket protection before. The Oline has gotten better, but in the first few weeks the line was crap and he was getting killed. And i also remembered you saying "he doesn't roll out" or they do not design roll outs for him. I know you seen they had two for him last week versus the Titans again speaking of how much more they are given him and trusting him with the offense. (notice you haven't seen much trick plays these last few weeks...)

In the Titans game the running game was not effective and he was fine making plays and throwing the ball. And there were times he was rushed. He either was able to dump it off in the flat or hit Meyers in the middle of the field right before the sack got there, or even audible to another play. Again speaking of his progression as a QB in that offense....things they couldn't get Cam Newton to do.

Can we wait to see how they look with Brown back, or do we need to judge our OL missing it’s starting LG and RT?

Feliciano is a slight upgrade, but Brown is massive in what he does for two positions.

    HC - Pats

    QB - Bills

    OL - Pats

    RB - Even

    TE - Even

    WR - Bills

    DL - Even

    LB - Bills

    CB - Pats

    S - Bills

    ST - Even

I think this is pretty accurate, but i think New England's backs are better.

Post to which I responded: “ Didn't you guys just beat a Saints team without their starting RB and starting QB(along with other injuries)? A game in which Allen thew 2 picks?” sure looked like down playing a Bills win from here

Didn’t say that in the post to which I responded.

Go back and look at my post.  I quoted the posts I regarded as taunting/trolling.   Take it to heart and back it down or don’t, I don’t care.

I suggest you look at the posts of your fellow Pats fan @PatsFanNH who can come here and disagree and argue and is not taken as taunting or trolling.

Again... "If the narrative is going to be well the pats played a injured Titans team. The same narrative can be looked at for the win on Thursday against the saint for the Bills, right?" So i can't point that out, I mean it's a football conov.?

And this goes to the whole "trolling" thing....where do you see me being overly negative about the buffalo bills, negative at all to them? I been here for over a year, where exactly have i been negative at all toward the bills? Where have I called anyone out of their name here? and I have seen posters here call @PatsFanNH a troll as well...

I don't even remember coming in here after any bills lost and saying anything. Actually no i did. It was after the pitts game and i said "fans shouldn't overract, about losing the steelers the bills will be fine...."

I mean i figured i was following rules...*shrug my shoulders*

It's more just obnoxious now than anything.

Like it was w/ the Cowboys for a few decades. You guys are the new Cowboys. The media hypes up everything about you.

In the media, it's a Patriots world, and we all just live in it.

Which will make a win next week that much sweeter.  Nothing like ruining a lame Patriots narrative that pundits love to create.

You know what ends all that if it bothers you that much.....win a SB, plan n simple. That's not a diss, since me posting here is being looked at as "trolling" for some reason. It's just saying....you as a fan want your team to get the benefit of the doubt. Win a superbowl. Media will endlessly gush over the bills too....

IMO Bills are still looked at as a SB contender (and it's true). I haven't heard nobody say otherwise. Nobody in the NFL is dominating right now.
