  1. The obvious plan is to get younger at WR. They are targeting a WR in round 1 and will likely move up to get him. They may sign a FA or two for camp competition, but otherwise, no major FA signings at WR should be expected.
  2. Great move for the Bills. I still expect a bargain signing similar to the Floyd deal post June 1 but they can roll with this.
  3. This is a solid move in my mind. Is there even another safety on the roster? Rapp is at least a known quantity and he knows their scheme. They are not done with this position so let’s see what they have in mind, but if people envisioned somehow capturing lightening in a bottle again with Hyde and Poyer replacements, I think they should adjust their short term expectations.
  4. Very well said. Thank you.
  5. I support taking a shot at a guy who can develop into a long term backup, but it would suicidal to count on a late round rookie to be the primary backup. They need a competent veteran behind Josh.
  6. Too much to invest in receivers when you have no QB. I agree. This does not work for the Bills. The correct path is to get younger and cheaper at WR in the out years of the Diggs contract.
  7. Even so, if you are Denver, better to take the cap pain now rather than suffer through another year of the anti-leader and mediocre player that is Russel Wilson. They need to start building their team.
  8. They will compete, but will not achieve any dominance or sustained success with either their woefully over classed head coach or their very limited QB. The pattern of the last two years, late season collapse, is the sustainable one for the Dolphins. I do not blame them if they make this move that could well be their best option, but let’s not fool ourselves into believing this puts them ahead of the Bills.
  9. Or, please hold your breath …
  10. Unfortunately, trading Knox if that is even possible opens a significant hole in their roster. The contract is a problem, but that overpay does not change the fact that they need someone with his skill set.
  11. The Bills had three coaches who have been being groomed by McD. Washington, Butler, and Babich. He deferred the decision a year after Frazier left. No doubt all three of those guys knew the score. All there were more than competent coaches. All three showed at least some leadership potential to be part of that. McD ultimately chose Babich. Washington got his DC job. Butler did not. This is an example of outstanding organizational management and development. There is literally no other way to interpret it. The fact that Butler chose to react the way he did to the disappointment of not getting this critical leadership role supports the decision to not give him the job IMO. Good luck to him. He is a good DB coach. Not everyone is cut out for leadership.
  12. And can't get out of the way of one either.
  13. Further evidence that the Jets are a total s... show and will continue to be.They are likely to be hyped to the max again this year, but they will crash and burn just as hard.
  14. Ray Lewis was charged with murder and he is a local hero, team legend, and in the Hall of Fame. I would not ever expect the NFL or the Ravens in particular, to really act in a socially responsible manner. Will be some hand wringing and posturing though.
  15. Losing Butler is unfortunate, but had to happen when he did not get the top job. McDermott has been grooming three different coaches for the DC role and chose Babich. The others are bound to be disappointed. I take his expressed butt hurt with a grain of salt considering, although I am sure Tyler Dunne will in touch very soon.
  16. Great. More money to get the same stuff i am getting now, except in one app. Thieves.
  17. In his case, the apple fell miles away from the tree. His father was very good at his job.
  18. Really no surprises here but good confirmation: - Saleh is a terrible HC - Hackett does not belong in the NFL - Rogers was really running the organization and still is - Rogers is an arrogant d bag. The Jets will continue to be also rans whether Rogers comes back or not. The preseason hype last year for this deeply flawed team was unwarranted and will be again.
  19. His personal reason was that he is still pouting and did not want to go.
  20. He would be a better choice than Fangio, one of the most over rated coaches in the NFL. Sadly for Frazier, I suspect this is not a serious effort by Miami. One part competitive intelligence gathering, and one part satisfaction of rules.
  21. He is on a multi thread one note crusade.
  22. Floyd was a great pick up by Beane and he was a key player for the D through 2/3 of the season or so. He had 1 sack in his last 6 games, none in the postseason. (So 1 in 8) That disappearance is concerning if looking at him for a bigger contract.
  23. Yes. What’s more, I think McD knew that was going to be a problem given the coaching and QB he was facing. Hence the strategy to limit Chiefs possessions. This was correct in my opinion. Did you really want to see KC have the ball 3 or 4 more times? Blowout City. I do not believe the Bills offense as constructed and down Davis as well ever had a chance to keep up with a scoring track meet with KC. Two weeks ago it might have been different with much more confidence in D.
  24. Hell of a way to make a point, calling someone stupid. How old are you? Ty Dunne has been fired by the Buffalo News, fired by Bleacher Report, and now peddles a third rate blog. He has no credentials with any NFL team or media organization. He is the definition of failed journalist. For what it is worth, I had no respect for him before his McDermott screed. Excellent reputation in “NFL Circles” ? Do tell.
  25. Spend 5 minutes over at Fin Heaven or whatever they call their fan message board and you will lose all inclination for pity and only loathing will remain.
