  1. Yes, very good. 90% of what is posted here in the next few days will be outrageous overreaction. More time for other things.
  2. Nice to hear some realistic and objective comments on a day when the the vast majority of threads and posts will be the opposite. Yesterday was very disappointing, even if it should not have been a surprise. (although I have to say I was surprised) Of all of it, I am most concerned about Hackett. I am starting to be in the camp of those who have been saying all along that he is in over his head. He could well be. I place the totally ineffective and unimaginative offense displayed yesterday squarely on his shoulders. This is concerning. Unless this changes in a hurry, he will likely get taken to the woodshed again next week by Sexy Rexy.
  3. I am sure the Skins will do everything possible to keep him. He is their best defensive player, and the team will be out of the cap jail they have been in the past two years and thus will have money to spend. He is not hitting the market. Even if so, I agree with other posters here saying that going after Orakpo or another premier type free agent is probably not the right move for this team. Stay the course.
  4. He was a favorite to replace Jauron at one time. Not sure which would have been worse - him or Gailey.
  5. 1. Interesting that several fans lament the loss of Urbik. 2. They seem to have given up on the season. I guess we know what that is like. Debating whether they should lose for draft position. Sound familiar? 3. It could get ugly for the Steelers at the Big Ketchup Bottle if the Bills can get an early lead.
  6. It seems like many Bills fans have more confidence in the Steelers than the Steelers fans have, possibly because the Steelers fans have had to watch their team play each week. The Bills should dominate line play on both sides of the ball - they are simply better. The Steelers blitz is hardly fearsome anymore, based on their 8 games so far. Rapelesberger is always a threat, but they do not have any scary receivers, and no running game. It is always possible the Bills throw the game away somehow, but this is a game they absolutely should win.
  7. I get your points - just do not think it is silly nor particularly ballsy to believe the Bills might win, Bills fan or not. I really do not care what the ESPN talking heads think, but I find it silly that they put no more thought into it than they do. I realize this is how it is until they prove it, but come on man. Go Bills!
  8. Silly? Pittsburgh is 2-6. Have you watched them? This game is at least even. Although it is on the road, this is not the same Steelers of legend and lore. They actually suck pretty bad. The Bills are are a team on the rise and the Steelers are going the other way. The Bills SHOULD win this game. That said, yes, rookie QB, maybe rusty, on the road etc. They need to prove it, but anyone looking objectively at both these teams with a bit of knowledge would conclude the Bills are the better team right now. A 20 point Bills blowout would not surprise me in the least.
  9. Overall, mostly on point. Clearly the QB issue is the biggest, not only in the lack of production from the WRs but also in the amount of sacks given up. Thad was a sack machine in the games he started, making the OL look much worse than they are because of inability to read the defense and get quick throws off to hot reads. That and the Jets game where EJ got mauled are the biggest factors in the OL sack totals. I do not recall any against the Chiefs. The Coaching grade is very fair, for the reasons he states.
  10. Far from "stinks". What I see is a team within a play here and there of being 6 and 3 instead of 3 and 6. Definitely heading in the right direction. I expect that by the end of the year the true potential of this team will be on display. Have not been able to say that for a long time.
  11. It is certainly your prerogative not to watch. Not sure we watched the same game, however. Feel free to go away if thats the case.
  12. The difference being RG3 tried to play with it and Shanahan let him.
  13. I am used to seeing nonsense posted on days after losses, but this has to be in the absolute top ten. Congrats to the OP!
  14. Yes it was. Not only that, the DB went full force into his knee. Nobody walks away from that hit. It does not make him injury prone. The suggestion is non-sensical. Jim from A is on a crusade.
  15. Bills only touchdown comes on either a kick/punt return or a pick 6. They win turnover and field position battle and short fields lead to 4 field goals. 19-17 Bills, despite only 250 yards in offense. Those who are going - loud and proud. Make Alex Smith wet himself. Go Bills!
  16. Manuel and Lewis are not even close to the same in their performances this season. Clearly not in talent level. Many of those blitz formations and secondary reads that Lewis has routinely missed Manuel was picking up. His command of the offense and pocket presence were clearly better. he needs to be back ASAP if the Bills are going to salvage anything out of the season. Sunday may be very ugly no matter who starts of the backups. I do agree with that.
  17. He is pretty sore at the very least. May just be an extra day of rest for his ribs. As inconsistent as he has been, I hate the thought of starting Jeff Tuel against the Chiefs.
  18. This is exactly right. The Bills D played well enough to keep this close throughout. They were dominant to start the game. Turnovers and penalties and general ineffectiveness of the offense lost the game. The Saint are a better team, but with an offensive performance to match the defense, the Bills win. This will come.
  19. This has always what it has been about. With any other agent involved, the fact that the Bills had the Tag available and used it, would have prompted a negotiation leading to fair contract somewhere in the middle. There were any number of ways that Byrd could save face in that situation - Higher guarantees, more years, etc. When a player and his agent are committed to a take it or leave it posture, and willing to take on the potentially negative consequences of that, then no negotiation is possible. Hence the hold out from camp, and hence the half hearted effort to get on the field and make a difference. The worst thing the Bills could have done was buckle under to this tactic. Very bad for business long term. The net result of this is Byrd is proving himself to be a selfish, uncommitted player. Good luck on the highest paid safety thing next year. I would not trade him now unless the return were foolishly high, and that is not likely to happen.
  20. Valient effort though likely in vain.
  21. Lame indeed. The Saints, like anyone, are beatable. The Bills secondary is getting healthy at the right time and it looks like Gilmore will be "club free". I think the Bills D can keep them in this. The Bills should be able to run on them. Thad will need to play well obviously - no turnovers - and the Bills will need to create some breaks. Tough matchup, but winnable, and no real reason to expect a blow out.
  22. So, 4 games is enough? This is non-sensical.
  23. You misunderstand. The future of the Bills depends on finding along term solution at quarterback. They need a full evaluation of Manuel's potential for that role. Thad Lewis is not the guy. Anyone who thinks so is dillusional. Manuel needs to play. If he is not the guy they need to back to the well.
