  1. This is one of the few times of year where fans can have unabashed enthusiasm for "what might be". The Bills could very well land Mario Williams, there's no reason fans should take him off their wishlist at this time.
  2. The X-Files was one of the first shows on TV (for me) that consistently awed me with the storytelling. Being able to seamlessly move from a monster of the week episode to a dense mythology/serialized storyline was cutting edge at the time. It took what Lynch tried to do with Twin Peaks and laid the path for Chase to follow with the Sopranos. Despite the fondness in my heart for this show and what it did for television as a medium -- you are ABSOLUTELY correct. The seasons after the first movie should be erased from history.
  3. This is a good point ... I missed that when I first looked at it. It does make a bit of a difference as a bad last season can leave a sour taste and injure the legacy of a show.
  4. I'll count 'em both.
  5. St. Elsewhere was '82 (yikes!).
  6. Some great ones included on here! This board rocks, despite what Crayonz says about you all behind your backs.
  7. They're all bastids! The lot of 'em!
  8. Or my life
  9. I'm pretty sure God has a great sense of humor.
  10. Yeah, it's kinda gross. But it's HUGE in Canada.
  11. The movie comes out in less than 3 weeks ... you'll be bombarded with enough Hunger Games info in the next few weeks you'll look back to this time in your life with longing
  12. I'm in search of some good Noir movies to watch over the next couple weeks. I'm fairly well versed in the classics of the genre (Double Indemnity, Sunset Boulevard, Naked City, all the Chandler stuff etc) but I'm sure there are ones I'm missing. What are your favorites of the genre? My top 3 would be: 1. Double Indemnity 2. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (sacreligious I'm sure) 3. The Big Sleep
  13. I was surprised that wasn't included as well ... though I guess maybe it didn't make the cut because it was based on an existing book? (Just guessing, I really don't know). Interesting choices! I'd love to hear why you made your picks (if you care to ramble about 'em). I think the matchups are actually quite interesting. The inclusion of My So Called Life (one season!) and then matching it against the Wire is the only match-up that doesn't seem to make sense. But all the others are cool. They didn't go for the obvious matchups (like pitting Twin Peaks against LOST for example).
  14. The Bills need him to go after Brady, Manning and RG3 when they all end up in our division.
  15. It's March which means it's once again time for everyone to start thinking about their brackets. But, for those of you that love TV like me, I thought I would share this with the Wall ... Here's the article with the bracket Vulture is using. The first round match ups are: Sopranos vs Six Feet Under The Shield vs NYPD Blue Breaking Bad vs Friday Night Lights Twin Peaks vs Battlestar The Wire vs My So Called Life X-Files vs West Wing Buffy the Vampire Slayer vs Deadwood Mad Men vs LOST Admittedly, I think they are leaving out some worthy shows (24 and ER spring to mind) and their seedings are kind of rough (poor Friday Night Lights, never got a good spot on the schedule from NBC and now are forced to face off against Breaking Bad in the first round!). They have the analysis up for the first match up -- Sopranos vs Six Feet Under -- but I think we can do our own debating.
  16. It's true. And the solution to this problem won't be found in one player or two. Don't get me wrong, Mario Williams would go a long ways towards shoring up the Bills pass rush problems. If the front office was willing to go hard after Williams, he could do just the trick. But I just don't see it happening (though I hope I'm wrong). And now with Avril being Franchised, the list of impact pass rushers available is down to one. I have no interest in signing any DE who's on the wrong side of 30 (guys like Abraham or Carter) or one year wonders like Mincey (though he'd be worth an interview out of sheer desperation). With only one impact DE available, and a very weak FA class of 4-3 OLBs, the Bills are going to have to get creative with how they add sacks in '12. I think the best way to do it, given the Bills' operational handicaps, is to add a couple mid tier guys at both DE and OLB and compliment them with a first day rookie.
  17. This is the truth. I still have my season tickets despite living in LA. I only get to make it back for 2 or 3 games at most (usually closer to 1). But it's never posed a problem in terms of selling the tickets.
  18. Two things the public should never see being made: Laws and Sausages.

  20. Googlebot set me up! I swear! (stop being good at researching)
  21. I don't disagree with you at all. I don't think the Bills are going to make a move for RG3 or Luck for exactly the reasons you stated. What bothers me is what that says about the Bills as an organization. They're dinosaurs operating as if it's business as usual at OBD -- which means we can expect a lot more losing before things get better. And they won't get better until the front office, including Ralph, is gone.
  22. I know it's hypothetical, but the answer to this is YES. Cam is THAT much better than Fitz -- even as a rookie. If he were on the Bills roster the Bills win at least 1 or 2 more games. Think about this ... Fitz had a full season as a starter in the Bills offense and was able to work out with his WRs over the lockout in Arizona. Cam didn't have any experience in the system, had a lockout, and STILL out played Fitz on every level imaginable. I realize Fitz is the Bills QB and he will be the starter in '12. I've never said anything but. Fitz is average to below average as a starting QB and the Bills have far more serious holes on its roster that totally lacks talent. But there is nothing that says you have to have a perfect team BEFORE you draft your franchise QB. In fact, that logic in terms of team building is, in my opinion, untenable. It's FAR easier (and leads to success quicker) to build around a QB than it is to try to build a complete team first in the era of the salary cap and free agency. The Bills have yet to learn this (they have never drafted a QB with their first pick ... that says something). The initial part of your post was accurate, it seems that every year there is a can't miss prospect who bombs. Fans are always going to be infatuated with the "newest big thing" in the draft -- that goes double when it's a QB. But just because sometimes players bust, doesn't mean it's foolish to think this way. The HIGH SCHOOL game has changed so much over the past 10 years that there are more QBs coming out of High School who are already polished passers than ever before. You see it every Saturday in the college game. This isn't 1985 anymore, every year there are more and more QBs coming out that are ready to play from day one in the NFL. Plus, with the new CBA, rolling the dice on a QB and busting hurts your cap FAR less than ever before.
