But it's what makes you (and Bill) hilarious. Then again, I'm sick in the head. -
RD 1, Pick #10: DB Stephon Gilmore - South Carolina

This. Well said. I'd love to see them trade up to grab Glenn or Martin at the end of the first round here ... they can grab a WR in round 3. -
I'm not a draftnick so I can't put forth a full mock. But that said, here's what I feel the Bills need to come away with from this draft (in order of importance): 1. Starting Caliber LT 2. A 1st or 2nd round WR 3. LB help (talent in the 4-3, regardless of position) 4. DB help (regardless of position, CB, FS, SS) If they can nail those 4 key needs, the draft will be a success imo. Everything else would be gravy. Just for the record (not that it means anything), my wish list for the first round pick would be: Kalil, Blackmon/Floyd, Barron, Gilmore/Dre -- though I know not everyone (maybe not any of them) will be there at 10.

Which other top 10 pick will suck?

And neither team has made the playoffs or won a Lombardi trophy ... RBs in the first round are a waste no matter how good they are. -
I wanted to catch it at Sundance actually but I missed it. I've heard a lot of mixed things on it around town here, mostly on the negative side though. I'll still check it out at some point though. I'm just beginning to suspect that the found footage angle has run its course in horror. I think the only way you can do a found footage now and have it feel exciting is to switch up the genres -- like they did with Chronicle. They did a found footage movie about a super-hero. That made the super hero genre feel fresh again in some ways.

Yup. Saw Blair Witch opening night with my brother. I remember hearing people talking before the movie started about how the movie was a real documentary. I laughed, trying to figure out how they could actually fall for that. Then the movie proceeded to scare the hell out of me. So the joke was on me. Though, the second time I saw it -- with the novelty worn away and just focused on the storytelling -- I found it to be incredibly boring. The novelty of the "found footage" genre was so profound it covered up the (imo) boring story. So no matter what you think of the movie, you have to give them credit for being ballsy and creating something unique in the genre. I saw the Strangers on dvd -- I'm not a huge fan of the genre, so I'm a bad judge on these things. It was okay to me, but just seemed like I had seen it before.

One of my buddies wrote it so I lived and died with it throughout all its various stages. I finally got to see the final product at Sundance this year and it made me incredibly proud. It's a great little film. As for a netflix recommendation to the thread: Workaholics ... don't think this has been mentioned but I discovered it at the end of its second season and quickly became addicted. A new season starts in May I think on Comedy Central.

If you liked Attack the Block, make sure to check out Grabbers when it's released here at some point this year. You'll dig it.

You're quickly becoming a must read poster for me ... -
I believe based on my occupation, I'm MORE than irrelevant. So keep your mitts off my missus!

This made my head hurt but it belongs in this thread. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=nQOyJUDTKdM

That's a good call ... I'll make that change.

That is FANTASTIC! Happy Birthday!

Good stuff in this thread.

Yes, I'm bored. But I'm also curious. Now, it could just be because of the industry I work in or the state I live in, but it seems to me that more people than ever are openly proclaiming that there is other intelligent life in the universe outside of our solar system. I remember growing up at a time when believing in ETs was tantamount to wearing a sign on your back that either read "Delusional" or "Please wedgie me now" depending on your age. But within the last decade we've seen NASA announce the discovery of hundreds of new planets outside out solar system (with the numbers rising by the day) and it seems more and more people believe we're not alone. Heck, even the Vatican came out recently and said that there is other life out there in the cosmos besides our own. Is that a sign they know something we don't and are trying to get ahead of the game? Or is it just the Vatican's way of trying to stay relevant in light of humanity's ever growing understanding of the universe? So now I turn to my constant source of knowledge and wisdom: Off The Wall. What say you? Are we alone in this universe? I understand the temptation will exist for this thread to become an unending string of one-liners. And I'm certain that at least some of those will be downright hilarious. But still, I'm hoping to get honest responses from the people out there.

Now? It's ALWAYS been that way. The only thing this country loves to do more than building up a hero is tearing one down.
-
Starting at about the 1:25 mark things get REALLY interesting.
-
This was the first thing I looked for too. It's comical now.

Thanks! I had to ask around, but it appears you are correct, good sir. A chunk of the animators on the show worked at one point on Samurai Jack. We're also one of the few shows that does all our animation in Los Angeles rather than Korea. It's crazy to see the work that goes into those episodes from the artists' side of things.

EVERY fanbase is fickle. Even our own beloved Bills. The Bills haven't sold out every game during this miserable 12 year stretch, attendance has ebbed and flowed as it does with every franchise. You don't need to dig to find the reason. Winning puts butts in the seats. Always has, always will. But to assume that in a city of 14 million people, the second biggest market in the country, that there isn't a fanbase here is not only shortsighted, it's false. The NFL of today isn't the NFL of the 70s or 80s. There are people lining up out the door for season tickets to a stadium that won't even be finished until 2017. Not only will LA get a team, I think they'll get 2. And both will be successful.
-
You're right. There are no loyal sports fans in LA. It's not the home to the greatest NBA franchise of all time -- and they share a stadium with an up and coming NBA team in the Clippers. There are also no real fan base for the Dodgers which is why the franchise sold for a paltry 2 BILLION and change. And forget about USC (which has had a more professional team than some NFL cities -- literally and figuratively) or UCLA. Yeah. There are no sports fans in LA. :wallbash:

Oh god, we'd get trampled. I will say that the name Sammy made it into one of my episodes though his name got chopped to Sam the last I heard ... alas, he was not a hamster (or a gerbil) but rather an 11 year old kid who gets captured by a villainously psychotic robot hell bent on wiping out a group of LARPers. Kinda like Googlebot.
