  1. I hear ya wwovince, but you have to admit, this is a HUGE game for the Sox. Everyone (Yanks fans included) expected you to take Game One behind your best pitcher. If Schill got rocked like this (and even worse, if he's hurt) that puts all the pressure on Pedro to win at LEAST 2 of his starts. And who knows where his head is at.
  2. I think Schill is just more hurt than they are letting on...
  3. Wow, Moose is loose! Oh, I know BF, I was playing only the top 10 hands but I kept getting em cracked. Just a bad run was all:) I was trying to spark your poker jones.
  4. That's messed up on many, many levels
  5. I had this convo with Millbank last week, but I think the reason why Matsui is overlooked is because he didn't turn out to be the "Godzilla" powerhitter everyone expected. Instead, what he is is an increadibly sound player. He hits for average, runs very well, is great in the field and is very, very patient and clutch.
  6. UNREAL! MATSUI IS INCREADIBLE!!!!!!!!
  7. Holey Moses! What the hell is up with Schill?
  8. two more times through the heart of the Sox lineup... Nice to see Mo' arrive. It will be interesting to see how he reacts if he is put into the game tonight. I have always had a theory about athletes. Namely that they play better when they are either sick or having personal problems. Prime examples are MJ (whenever that man had the flu he would drop 50 points) and Brett Farve (MNF after his dad died). I think it is because they are distracted that they just "play" and don't over think things. I hope Mo' can be included on this list...
  9. BF I'm getting KILLED in 3-6 hold 'em right now. I need help.
  10. They need more than that (obviously) but I have been saying all week Game One is a MUST WIN FOR BOSTON. An absolute must win. They are expected to win this one with their ace on the mound. It would be HUGE if the Yanks can steal Game One.
  11. WOW! SCHILL IS RATTLED!
  12. Matsui is just clutch. Absolute clutch...
  13. Schill is throwing lots of pitches....not that it matters since he is a stud but it's nice to see.
  14. Thank you.... Great start for Moose. Time for Schill to match
  15. Tiger, you're right. I forgot about Jabari. I should have put our starting secondary. I am excited to see what both Jabari and McGee will do with a little more expierence under their belts. Of course it will take much longer for Jabari to get that expierence.
  16. McGee is faster than anyone else in our secondary.
  17. Yes. A new GM almost ALWAYS means a new coach (99 percent of the time). And Ralph doesnt like paying people not to work. Wade Phillips knows what I am talking about. So if a move is made it would be a promotion from within sorta deal, which to me is a lateral move. I don't see it happening till 06.
  18. That's my whole point. There isn't a single GM that's worth his salt that would come into a situation WITHOUT being able to choose his own coaching staff. And since MM is here for at least 3 of those 5 years, it seems entirely unlikely that RW would can TD without a viable replacement. Modrak is a possiblity, but how could RW justify that move? Afterall Modrak has been involved in every key personel decision. It would be more of the same.
  19. Umm... We're through the toughest part of the schedule. Will TD ever be fired? Probably. Just not this year or next. That's all I am saying. MM's contract virtually assured TD another 2 years in the big chair.
  20. One thing people on this board tend to forget is that Ralph LOVES Drew. He says it over and over again. He is enamored with him. The decision to get Drew was as much RW's call as it was TD's.
  21. What I am talking about is that RW will not be able to find any replacement GM who wouldn't want to hire his own coach. Thus, MM and TD are LINKED. If you brought in a new GM, he will want to bring in new coaches. And since it's so early on in MM's contract, RW will not want to do that. TD and MM are here all year and all of next year.
  22. There are several reasons why this WON'T happen: 1) If you fire TD, anyone you bring in to replace him (any GM worth his salt at least) will want his own coaching staff. So that would mean that you would have to fire MM too. 2) MM is only 4 games into the longest, richest rookie coaching contract ever signed at One Bills Drive. There is no way that RW is willing to tear that up so soon. One thing that has always been consistent about Ralph is his unwillingness to pay people for NOT working, which is precisley what he would have to do to MM and TD if he terminated their contracts so early. Don't think so? Just ask Wade Phillips what he thinks. The truth of the matter is that TD and MM are going to be here for this entire season and all of next season as well. You don't have to like it, but you might as well accept it.
  23. What perplexes me is that I can't tell if it's the player's fault or the scheme. In the Jax game it seemed to me to be a scheme problem since they were playing far too soft of a zone and giving up tons of yards. Yet Nate screwed up and didn't bat down the pass...so which was it? Then in the NE game it seemed like they were playing too tight, jamming the line and STILL not getting pressure. Then Coy Wire was getting burned. Yesterday on that final drive it seemed like Gray was playing a zone scheme like he did in Jax and they gave up chunks of yards when they really counted... So I don't know who to point the finger at on the defensive side of the ball.
  24. I hear ya. I was shocked to read that. In college we played a similar type of scheme with our DL and our record was 1-9. lol
  25. The problem (at least from what I have heard) is that it's the arm Lawyer leads with on EVERY tackle that is broken. Even if they cast it, there would still be a significant chance that he would re-break it and MM isn't willing to risk Malloy's future use of his arm and rush him back to the field. I think it's the smart, even if unpopular, thing to do.
