I have it to and beat it this weekend (well, not 100 percent completion, but finished all the storyline missions). It is crazy fun.

I heard that too. And I also heard that he was under "orders" from Lucas not to disclose his work on the film. Who knows, it is Lucas (very paranoid). I am just pumped for this movie:)

Even if Selig hadn't changed the rule, the AL still would have had Homefield. So stop hanging your hat on that. Besides, the Birds had 2 games at home and lost them both. Homefield didn't play a role. They just faced a redhot team who exploited the Cards' banged up rotation. Roger's feat is impressive no matter how you look at it. And you cannot honestly say Bonds doesn't deserve the MVP award. I don't like the guy, I think he juices, but no single player in baseball had the impact on EVERY game that Barry did this year. Pujols and Rolen are special players, but teams pitch to them. People don't pitch to Barry yet he still gets crazy numbers.

I don't care where the Bills are ranked. The ranking seems fair to me. But read what was said about the Jets. Completely writing off the loss as the result of a "short week" and not giving credit where credit is due is not very objective or fair reporting in my opinion. That was my point.

As a fan, all I want to see is constant improvement from one game to the next. It felt so good on Sunday to see the Bills play well again. It was something that had been missing since the Jacksonville game last year (that's a LONG time to wait!). The realist in me knows the playoffs are a long shot and perhaps unreachable. But I am also well aware that how a team FINISHES a season is a great indicator as to how that team will play in the next season. So if the Bills can go 6-2, or 7-1 or even 5-3 through the second half of the season I will be very happy and the outlook will look good for next season. But the fan in me says, the Bills aren't KO'd yet. If they win on Sunday night I feel they will be in a very good position to make a serious run at a wildcard. Nothing is more important in football than confidence (NE is a great example of this as they are the most confident team in the league). And *if* the Bills can win in NE it will cement all the confidence they have built over the past 4 games making them a very tough team to beat down the stretch. So it's a constant battle in my head between the realist and the fan. That being said, I am just looking forward to watching the Bills play good football again on Sunday. If they play well, everything else will sort itself out.

Absolutely, if they weren't the fans here wouldn't be nearly as passionate as we all are.

How can we get our #1 pick back?
CosmicBills replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good analysis. I have said it for a while now that I think Philly is the perfect place for Trav. Philly needs a bruiser like Travis, and they are going to have a very low pick (if not in the 30s then 28 or 29). In that instance, TD might very well be able to pry a First rounder from them, but he would definitely get a 2nd rounder if they do indeed pick in the high 20s or 30s. Either would be good for the Bills because 1) it deals Henry out of the conference (a big plus) and 2) a low first rounder or second rounder gives the Bills the chance to select a very good player for not that large of a cap hit and get something for nothing essentially. -
Its not the ranking that I have a problem with. Just the fact that he bashed the Bills by implying that the only reason the Jets lost was because they had a short week and gave no credit to the Bills. Which is unfair since the Bills almost beat them in the Meadowlands and dominated the game from begining to end.

I know, I was just messing with ya since you and I have been having our negative vs optomist argument lately.
-
Yeah, I'm not worried, I just think it's funny. Maybe Prisco really = ICE ?
-
Yeah, ESPN is a bit more realistic. At least they bring up how the Jets are in trouble losing Chad for 2 to 4 weeks. CBS just gives them a "mulligan"
-
Check out what they say about the Jets and Bills: 23. Bills (up from 26) If they can continue to ride Willis McGahee, the Bills just might sneak up and win eight games. The defense is solid. 5. Jets (Down from 4) A short-week loss is never a real surprise, especially on the road. So we give the Jets a mulligan. Again, no credit given to the Bills for how they played. Instead it was more a factor of a road game plus a short week. http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/powerrankings http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerranking

How can we get our #1 pick back?
CosmicBills replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even if we drop the game to NE and drop the game out in Seattle, the way the schedule wraps up, we have a good shot at going 9-7 at best and 7-9 at worst. There is absolutley no way 7-9 will be bad enough to be in the top 10. Not when there are 12 other teams right now with the same (or worse) record as the Bills. Lighten up buddy -
What ability would that be? They haven't stopped anyone from running on them yet. Seeing how they gashed your run defense (like every other team so far this year) last time with Henry, I am betting Willis and the Bills' O-Line are feeling just fine about the prospect of piling up good enough numbers on the ground to control the flow of the game.

Come on Ice. In a post where we aren't talking anything negative or positive you have to throw in that cheap shot? And, you are wrong on that. There is no way the Bills draft in the top 10. -

Well, you have to figure they are going to spend their money to assure that Abraham stays a Jet. And we have no use for Jordan (who will want to be a starter whereever he goes) or Becht or really Ferguson. That leaves McKenzie and Ellis. Ellis will come with a large pricetag and the way Kelsay has been playing we may be better off leaving him in the lineup (with his very cap friendly number) than overpaying for Ellis. So the only real name I see on this list is McKenzie. However, the Jets will indeed be hurting after losing the names on this list! -
Your not looking at this game correctly. That line shows it. Three weeks ago I would be with ya on that point. But this team is no longer about Drew first. The team has bought into the Mularkey's scheme and this is a run first team. All Drew has to be now is another cog in the machine, and that is where Drew excells. So I hope BB spends his time scheming and focusing soley how to take away Drew out of his game. Because Willis will eat his lunch if that's the case. Just be thankful that BB knows more about your opponent than you do.

McKenzie would be nice to add, especially if the bills lose JJ -
You don't think the line will be 3.5???

Does anyone know who is a FA next year? I haven't seen a list yet. Just curious. -
You are right. Same works for Buffalo though with McGahee. If the Pats are going to load up and blitz Drew all day, Willis will make them pay. And if they bring Harrison down in the box, I like the matchups at WR one on one for the Bills against a depleted secondary. Basically, what it will come down to is mental mistakes. If the Bills of old show up and are flag happy, the Pats will take the game. But if the Bills continue to play mistake free (as they have been for the past 8 quarters) then I think the matchups (on paper mind you) favor the Bills. The Bills O match up very well with the Pats. Moulds and Evans will be a handful for the Pats MASH unit. But I expect that Mark Campbell will have a big game. The Pats are going to be forced to come up with some schemes to take away Willis and Moulds which will leave lanes open for Mark. I don't think anyone here is marking this game down as a W for the Bills. But I don't see how Pats fans can either. It should go into the "too close to call" catagory for both teams.

Uh, I lived in Boston and drove by the stadium every day on my way to work in Providence. I bet I know the area better than you. I was just pointing out your statement on Welcome to Boston is about as thoughtful and intellectually honest as your posts regarding the matchup. It's going to be a good, close game. And the line will be 3.5 (guessing there).
-
It is Foxborough, but saying Foxborough is Boston is like saying Rochester is Buffalo. It's much closer to Providence. So close in fact, that visiting teams spend the night in Providence before the games.
-
You may want to rethink the title of this thread. Welcome to Boston? Since when do the Pats play in Boston. It should read: Welcome to Providence!

How about the play with the Abraham pummeling
CosmicBills replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What is at issue here is whether Abraham was infront of Tucker or not. A chop block is not legal if it is from behind or from the side, engagment does not matter in those instances. Whether they teach you to do it or not, it doesn't change the legality of the play. Denver teaches their linemen to chop block (legal or not) and they have been the most fined unit in the NFL for the past few years because of it. The problem is that the refs do not enforce the rules in the trenches. It's been said you can call holding every play if you wanted to, but refs don't. Should they? Of course not, it would slow the game down tremendously. But you can't cripple a man by holding him...you CAN cripple a man with an illegal chop block. Thus the refs should call it more often than they do. Right now the NFL is relying on a policy of fining these players rather than policing the action during the game. It's something they need to address. Was Tucker's play the most egregious chop block ever? Of course not. It was borderline. I started this discussion just to point out that Abraham, while clearly commiting an infraction, was justified in doing so because of how dangerous that sort of block can be. Not just in a legal sense, but in the sense that it can jeopardize Abraham's ability to walk, play or provide for his family. Was Tucker in front of Abraham? Some say yes, I say no. I am opperating from memory (didn't save the game tape) albeit I watched the play several times yesterday. Those who have the tape have said he was indeed infront of him. I did not see it that way.
