(OT) Who is the Basketball Player in the Coke Ad?
CosmicBills replied to CosmicBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really? I thought he was a streetball player. Hmmm, maybe I was duped! -
Anyone know who the basketball player is in the new Coke ad that has been running for the past month? It's the add where the player, while holding his grocery bag, puts a spin move on the street ball player and dunks on him... I think he is a famous street ball player, but I am not sure. Anyone know who is is?

Supposedly 6 episodes worth...

It's also interesting to note that unlike other characters who have been offed, we didn't SEE Araz get shot. It is possible (not likely, but possible) it was made to look that way for Jack's benifit. Don't be surprised if she is still alive.

OT-Girl in the Old Spice Commercials
CosmicBills replied to HtownBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So no one knows who the Old Spice girl is yet? -
What's the little quote thing that goes with it?

I'm Sawyer "Other people are suckers, and you use that to your best advantage. You are always two steps ahead of everyone else, which is helpful, because they are usually coming to kick your ass"

Many Bills fans are also fans of the Yankees and Syracuse Orange. This may have been the worst year for these fans ever. Just recap the heartbreak... 1: Bills: Start 0-4 only to mount a ferocious comeback. All they need to do is beat a Pittsburgh team resting its starters AT HOME and they would be in the playoffs. What happens? The Bills go out and lay a friggin' egg in one of the most embarrassing losses in recent NFL memory. 2: Yankees: Finally land ARod. Have a great regular season. Go into the playoffs as the underdog to the Sox, but get up 3-0! Things look great as no MLB team has ever made a comeback that large. What happens? The Yanks collapse and not only do the Sox make history overcoming a 0-3 deficit...they also win a ring 3: Cuse: Loaded with talent. Top 10 team. Can't beat any good teams all year. Still, they manage to pull it together and win the Big East Tourny for the first time in 13 years. Things look good heading into the tournament. What happens? They go out and lay a friggin' egg in the most embarrassing loss in the NCAA tourney this year. They lost to a team coached by a darn morning DJ!!!! This just sucks.

Does "I plea the 5th" = "I took steroids"
CosmicBills replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But did you really expect anything different? Again, even if they are lying (and we all think they are), no one can prove otherwise. -
Does "I plea the 5th" = "I took steroids"
CosmicBills replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. I am not condoning the players. I am just saying there is nothing illegal they can prosecute them for...even if they ADMIT to using steroids. The only way they could prosecute is if they perjure themselves (AND they have evidence...simple hearsay won't hold) or if they had evidence of Steroids in their possession. But it gets better. This won't stop. Baseball is just the beginning. Now that the media and Congress knows it's a hot topic, the NFL is next. We will soon (within the next 2 or 3 years) be reliving this with NFL, NBA and NHL players. -
Does "I plea the 5th" = "I took steroids"
CosmicBills replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kasper, you just proved my point: Possession and distribution is illegal. Taking steroids is not. It's splitting hairs but its the crux of this argument. It's like the guy walkind down the street high on Cocaine. He doesn't have any cocaine on his person, he is just high. As long as he isn't driving a motor vehicle, he is not breaking the law. Now, he broke the law when he purchased it, he broke it when he possessed it, but you cannot prove he did any of those things. All you know is he has coke in his system. That's the problem with the Roid hearings. They can't do anything to the players. They cannot arrest them (unless they perjure themselves...which will be impossible to determine since there is no evidence that any player ever took roids since MLB didn't have a testing policy). So if the goal isn't to arrest the players, what's the point? Get the guys who make and distribute them? That can't be the case because if that is what they truly wanted to accomplish, this would be a closed door session without the press and all players would be granted immunity. -

CosmicBills replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a great question actually. There is no way the athletes will go and admit anything (for reasons I stated above about there not being any evidence to prove otherwise). If they did admit it, it would damage any of their future deals (endorsments or even current contracts with clubs that may have steroid clauses). If Congress REALLY wanted to be accomplishing something, they would be using the players to go after the suppliers (i.e. find out who supplied them with roids etc) so they could make arrests. But if this is what they wanted, they certainly wouldn't do so IN OPEN HEARINGS. They would do it closed door, offer the players immunity and seal the testimony...that's the only way the players will (pun intended) play ball. Like I said, it's a witch hunt. This accomplishes nothing other than get a few senators and congressman face time on a "hot button issue". It's a joke. -

The thing is, even if they say yes...what are they going to do? The answer is they can't do anything. Taking steroids is not illegal. Selling, distributing and possessing steroids is. Not taking them. This is just congressional posturing. These hearings are a joke. No player will admit anything, even if they say "No"...what's the Congress going to do? How can you prove they did? Simple heresay won't work. And since baseball has never had a testing policy, it's not like they can fall back on any sort of tests to prove them a liar. this is a witch hunt. -
OT - Off to Vegas for the weekend
CosmicBills replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with ya. I think Bama is a bit overrated. But this is the game that has the most potential at blowing up my brackets. If Bama does get on a role, they can make some noise...I just don't think it's going to happen. -
Were these scripts inspired by the Star Wars universe or the actual SW scripts? Any interest in reading mine? It's not Star Wars...but it is an action/adventure script.

We've all been there. There's nothing like the inflated sense of self that alcohol can bring. Alcohol: ain't it great?

bruschi has a hole in his heart?

Is this the same sort of thing Holyfield had a few years ago? Didn't he come back and win the title after being diagnosed with it? So maybe there's hope for Teddy. -

Bet (a very SMALL amount) on U-Dub Milwalkee over 'Bama (12 over 5). They may have a win in them... I also like Pitt over Pacific (9 over 8) NC State over Charolotte (10 over 7) Of course, when it comes to the tourney, no one knows anything -
I just finished a draft of a new script and am looking for a good reader or two. Is anyone familiar with script format? More importantly, is anyone interested in reading a draft and giving some good, honest criticism? I have a couple people in the biz waiting to read it, but I don't want to send it out to them until I am confident in the product...and currently I don't think it is (only a second draft). But it's difficult to find people who 1)like to read and 2) can give honest critiques of a work. So, if you are that person and feel like helping me out, let me know. It would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the blatent LAMP post!
