NFL POWER RANKING BEYOND THE CHAMPS
CosmicBills replied to MartyBall4Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can argue all you want, but last year there wasn't a team close to NE's level. Not one. Sure, they lost their coordinators, but they still have a great D, the best QB in the league, and one of the best offensive schemes in the business. They get the most out of their players. What players did they lose? Bruschi hurts...other than him they didn't lose anyone who isn't easily replaceable. Law? Brown? Andruzzi? Bah. Who in the AFC East can/will beat the Pats? Certainly not the Bills or Dolphins (far too many question marks). Thats 4-0 in the AFC East for the Pats. The Jets will be better this year, but the most they will get is a split. Baring a major injury or two during the season, there is no doubt the Pats will win the AFC East again this year. Who in the AFC can beat them in the playoffs? Maybe Indy...that's about it. But the only way they win is if they play the game in Indy. Deny it all you want, but the Pats are going to be very good once again in 2005. -

I don't know about improved, but they are still the best team in the league...by far. And they will be until someone proves otherwise. -
NFL POWER RANKING BEYOND THE CHAMPS

I think Buffalo is more of a reach at 15 than Baltimore is at 4. As a fan I am pumped about the season and hope the Bills will do well and make the playoffs. But as a realisit, with a first year starting QB (even if he turns into another Kelly eventually) who will certainly struggle, a total mess on the offensive line, and no TE...well, that doesn't sound like anything more than 6-10 to me. The Bills should be further down the list. -
May Movies: Summer Season Begins
CosmicBills replied to Mark Vader's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I personally am anxious to see Crash. Great cast, good writer. Of course I love the big blockbusters too: SW, Batman, WOTW, and Kingdom of Heaven (although I am nervous about that one...). -
EW a few weeks ago said that some mysteries will be revealed before this season's end. And that is one of 'em. I put the others that will be revealed in yellow. I don't have answers though, so they aren't really spoilers. The others they mentioned: The raft and who gets to set sail, the hatch, Locke's reasons for everything. I can't recall if they said the monster would be revealed this season, but I don't think so.

The rest of this seasons episodes are over the next four weeks. No more breaks (I think...)

He knew Boone would have to be at least injured if not killed based on his "vision" combined with what he said about "having to give something to get something". That episode made it pretty clear the choice was be back in the chair or push on with Boone...Locke chose to keep his legs no matter the cost to Boone. He brought Boone back hoping Jack could save him but the fact he left right away shows me that: 1) He didn't really care about Boone, thus he raced to his prescious Hatch to see if it opened. When he found it wasn't open that's when he is crying "I did everything you asked"...The tears IMO were both from frustration he let Boone come to harm but more from the fact he didn't get his way. or 2)He left because he knew Boone was going to die. Why stick around if you know the outcome? It's one or the other IMO.

Good point. You have something there...
-
Yup, no doubt about it now. I just wish they would stop showing that damn preview with Locke getting "shot".
-
I missed Locke's line to Charlie (about his guitar): "To get something from this island, you have to give something up". That is the final proof for me. He knowingly gave up Boone to get his legs back AND open the hatch. But it makes me wonder what Locke gave up originally to get his legs...

Oh, the show is also in the future (somewhat)...forgot about that too. I think it's supposed to be 2009? Something like that.

The character Palmer (the black ex presidedent) was an original cast memeber. The show chronicled his run for president (season 1) and eventual decision not to run for re-election (season 3). So if you have never seen the show you may have missed that. You may not have meant that to be a racist remark, but it certainly came across as that. How could it be percieved as anything but? I'm not saying you are a racist (not at all, I wouldn't make that claim since I don't know anything about you), just pointing out how a comment such as that can be viewed.

The Madness of Dr. Jerry "Short" Buss
CosmicBills replied to AKC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My money is still on both Lebron and Phil winding up in NYC by the start of next year. -
I didn't mean to start anything, but of all the "realism" aspects of the show you can make fun of, it's interesting he chose to name that as one of 'em.
-
It's funny how some people look at a black president on a TV show and cry about realism, while others look at it with hope.

The guy who is definitely gone after Parrish pick
CosmicBills replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You think? That was what I was wondering. You have to figure the Bills won't carry 7 WRs (Moulds, Lee, Aiken, Reed, Smith, Parish)...but will they carry 6? It will be interesting to see how it shakes out in camp. -
Is Donahoe gone after this year?
CosmicBills replied to VABills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The reality is that there isn't a GM in a safer position than TD (with the possible exception of Pioli). RW loves him. And TD bought himself at least 3 more years when he drafted JP. If JP works out, he will be around a very long time. If he doesn't, then he probably won't be. But truth is, it will take 3 years to see if JP works out or not. TD will have a new contract by the end of training camp. -
While I am not saying if Roscoe was a good pick (because frankly I don't know much about the guy), I will take issues with these two comments. First, the fact that Justin Miller was sitting there at 55 and TD opted not to take him is a sure sign that he believes a long term deal with NC is in the cards. Maybe preliminary talks w/ NC's agent has gone well. How are we to know? In this instance, we have to give TD the benifit of the doubt. As for not getting anything for Henry, it is far too early to jump to that conclusion. Even if Henry isn't dealt this weekend, I have no doubt he will be moved in Training camp when an injury happens. And holding onto him until then will net the Bills a better pick in the 2006 draft (a deeper and more talented draft than this year's version). There is still hope.

Wow....
-
Will this be like every year where they go to commercial just as the Bills pick?
-
I would love it. He would be a viable replacement for NC if he left. He can return punts (to spare NC the injuries) and he can cover better than Kevin Thomas.
-
If the CB is Miller, I will be happy. Insurance is needed for NC.
