  1. All correct.
  2. I think Sloth hit it on the head why Charlie and Eko fit...it's all about forgiveness and in turn redemption. Charlie still has not forgiven his brother for introducing him to heroin, nor has he taken the responsibility that he did the drugs (and his brother didn't force him to do anything). Eko on the other hand sacrificed his soul (they even say it in the episode) to save his brother's life. But his brother never truly appreciated it until the end (and then in turn gave his life to spare Eko's soul). But Eko needed to find his brother's body and beg for forgiveness (which is what he was saying I think as he cradled the body) in order to fully be "saved". Which is something that Charlie has not been able to do. That was driven home by Eko doning his cross (salvation) while Charlie squirelled away more heroin (sin). Another note is about Claire and the baby. The psychic said the baby can't be raised by anyone else. And over the past couple episodes, everyone had been raising the baby (Locke, Charlie etc) but Claire. Now with Charlie gone, she has to do it herself...could be a good thing. Just something that popped into my head.
  3. That could be. I didn't see it, but doesn't mean it's not there. I focused on the two faces...
  4. Totally. What I meant was that by his brother signing those papers and making him a "priest" and then coming to the airport with the military (which caused the events to occur which prevented Eko from getting on the plane), his brother saved his life. The Military assumed he was a priest, not a drug runner (which I found odd)...and he had the papers to prove it because of his brother. So Eko saved his brother from sin in the beginning, and then his brother saved him by the end and gave him a chance for redemption.
  5. Okay went back and looked at the stick (love HDTV). It says: 23 Psalm Revelations : 3 (something illegible) 144 "Hateth" (in quotes) Col*slans T: 4 (the * was an illegible mark) Titus:3 There was more at the top of the stick and something he was carving, but you can't make it out. Also, with Revelations and Titus, the numbers that follow are right before the stick is wrapped with twine, so there could be more numbers after (since I assume they are chapter/paragraph marks).
  6. I'll have to go back and look at the stick, but they were scripture verses. Psalm 23 was on there as well as "repent" and I think "redemption" but I could be confusing those two. Eko's brother not only died trying to save Eko, he DID save Eko by allowing him to take his place as a priest (in a round about way) and find redemption. Interesting comparison with Liam...that had slipped my mind. I thought the same thing with Michael. However, with the film telling them not to use the computer, I feel like someone really is talking to him. But honestly, it could very easily go either way right now.
  7. If he is using, they haven't showed it. I would like to think he was just stock pilling them like he told claire: "it felt good to have around" (or something like that). But now that Claire kicked him out...maybe he will start up again.
  8. I don't follow the other Lost boards (only this one)...but my friend told me that there was discussion about seeing faces in the smoke when Locke was pulled into the hole last season... I don't know about that cause I didn't see it...but there are def faces there this time. Did you think the second face (the one on the left) was Eko's brother or another person? I couldn't tell, but whoever it was looked dead.
  9. Really Steve? You didn't like it? I thought it was a great episode. On par with the last three which were the best of the season.
  10. I paused it and watched it slow mo... There were faces in the smoke. One was Eko as a kid (or at least him or his brother) and the second face looked like his brother as he was being shot. It looked like the smoke was "scanning him"...
  11. Really, the only important thing are the 4 draft picks the Bills have in the top 70. Free agency, restructuring, gameplanning and all the rest will take care of itself and can be remedied. But to have that many top 70 picks in a draft as deep as this one allegedly is, is an opportunity that the Bills cannot afford to blow. To miss on those 4 picks would set the club back for another decade.
  12. In an ideal world, you would be correct. But here's the problem... It's not that poor mechanics won't translate into completions, its that the coaches in the NFL will take some one with poor mechanics and try to "fix" it. Afterall, they are the coach...and most of the time, screwing with someone's mechanics (even in an attempt to make them better) ruins a guy.
  13. Just to be safe, I won't cross the street at all. I'll just take the long way to work.
  14. Quick, what's my future hold?!
  15. A College JV defense could have played well against the Texans. That isn't much of an accolade, especially when you factor in it was the home opener AND the first game of the season (thus giving the staff the most time to scheme).
  16. That was ND's old play the "monkey pass" that Holtz ran on FSU a bunch of times in the 90s. Those Seminoles fell for it every time too.
  17. And also a former Bills beat reporter/fan who cut his teeth on those super bowl teams coached by Marv. Not saying Vic is wrong, but he is not the most objective guy when it comes to Marv or the Bills. The door swings both ways.
  18. I hear what you are saying with your other points and agree for the most part. But I don't think this notion is silly at all. If it is, then why was Bush on the sidelines for the biggest play of the season? 4th and 2 and Bush wasn't in the backfield...wasn't split out, he was on the sidelines. If White is not the better RB (not athlete/player, just better RB) on the USC squad, then why would he get the ball and not Bush? White was a monster that game and has been for 3 years. Might be the most underrated player in the nation. Bush is clearly the better athlete, but better RB? I don't know...
  19. Young was impressive last night. Clearly a brilliant performance and a great college player. However, do you all really think he is going to be able to do that in the NFL? The guy cannot throw and NFL defenders will be faster than him unlike the UCLA defense last night. So where do you put him? WR? RB? If you plan on him being your QB you are looking at at least 3 years of development time. He is not as good in the open field as Vick was in college and Vick had a much better arm (which is scary since Vick to this day is terribly inaccurate). Young, Leinert and Bush all are going to be busts in the NFL. I said it, and stand by it. They will have some success, but won't live up to their hype. Leinert doesn't have the velocity to make all the throws needed, and how could anyone justify using a number one overall pick on a guy who has never been an every down player (like Bush). In my opion, White was the most impressive running back on the field last night for the Trojans. Don't misunderstand me, all three of these guys are physical specimines and tremendous college athletes with poise and leadership abilities. The performance by Young last night will be long remembered. However, none of them (Young included) have the total package to be superstars at their positions in the NFL. (I'm not trying to be argumentitive, just wondering if other people see what I see or if I'm just crazy)
  20. Not true at all. I just said that Bush is not an everydown player...EVEN IN COLLEGE. How can he expect to be one in the pros? And if you think that's wrong, just look at the game last night. 4th and 2, the biggest play of the year and he isn't even on the field. I'm not even sure he is the best back on the USC squad. He is a dynamic player, but his style of play is not suited for the NFL where he won't have the luxery of playing against soft defenses every other game. So how do you justify paying a guy top money when he isn't an every down back?
  21. I never said Dunn or Barber suck. I never even said Bush sucked.
  22. Only topped 1,000 yards in less than half the years he played in the league. Those are not HOF numbers. Dunn is good, not great. Bush will be good, not great -- certainly not "the best ever" and certainly not worth the money he will be paid as a No 1 or 2 pick.
  23. Yes, that is what he said his role was in a preseason interview. I don't know if that changed during the course of the season though.
  24. Not really. As QB coach he relays the plays to the QB over the headset anyway. So he would be talking the same.
  25. Um...but he can't throw. So what is he going to do in the NFL? Be a running QB? At least Vick and McNabb could throw the football when they came out. Of course, Vick can't throw it very well, but he is still head and shoulders above Young. Young is a player without a position in the pro game. Bush is a 2 down player who isn't big enough to last in the NFL. He's Warrick Dunn plus one Leinert doesn't have the zip in his arm to be anything more than a so-so pro.
