That's a good one! Sadly I don't have many "funny" stories to share, most of my female stories end in humiliation or with a restraining order

Tom Cruise vows to eat placenta.

Cocktail...what a terrible movie that was. -

Absolutely. Though most of this discussion is a bit moot since it's unlikely VD will be there at 8 for the Bills to pick. I'm not a draft expert at all, but I think it's safe to say for certain there are TWO players guaranteed NOT to be there at 8 no matter what happens: Bush and Williams. Everyone else could potentially slip depending on how many QBs go before 8 etc. I am hoping for Davis to slide to 8, though I'm not banking on it.

He changed the first post to reflect his new position. It originally said: "Are you serious?! We neet a DT!" There is nothing wrong with changing your mind at all. But to go from being so against selecting a TE that you feel the need to start a thread about it, to suddenly believing that VD is superior to Mario Williams (the best player in the draft) is astounding. Especially when you make that transition in less than 48 hours. I am all for people re-evaluating positions, but both of these assertions are slightly ridiculous to begin with. That's the point.

FWI... Per NFL Network...Texans to take...
CosmicBills replied to KOKBILLS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly...IF (and it's a big if) Texas does pass on Bush, then the Jets will do everything they can to make a move for Reggie. They need a RB even more so than they need a QB -- if you can believe that one. -
With the # 8 pick the Vikings select....

Totally agree with you here. I am NOT on the Ngata bandwagon at all, nor do I think the Bills should take any DT at the 8 spot. -

You said it better than I could have, that's for sure. I am not a draftnik, nor an expert (in basically anything), but Davis could fill a serious hole on this team for years to come. Certainly the Bills have other holes, but none of the players available at 8 (in my mind) can have the impact that Davis can. Still, since he is my number one wish, I know that he will be gone before the Bills get a chance to nab him -

If Davis is still on the board at 8 and the Bills don't select him, I might cry. -
Since the series shoots in Hawaii, they were on a set, in front of green screen.

One useless bit of trivia I do know about the show was that originally Sawyer's character was supposed to be from Buffalo. However, Josh Halloway (the actor who plays Sawyer) couldn't do the Buffalo accent in the audition so he just improvised and did the southern one we have grown accustomed to. The producers liked him so much, they just changed his back story a bit. So it didn't suprise me to see WNY get a shout out. I don't know if any of the show's producers/writers are from the area, but I can try to find out.

Honestly, from a pure writing standpoint -- there was a reason Jack repeated EXACTLY what Henry told he and Locke a few episodes ago about arranging a trade. Why? In my mind the writers did it to REMIND us about that plan. And what we are going to find out is that the "Others" planted Henry there to get them to try that plan. But instead of giving up Walt (which they said they never would), then they give them a trojan horse in Michael. Like I said in my above post, I think there are other "special" people that the "others" want. Namely Aaron and possibley Hurley. So they get Michael to lead the "chosen ones" to fight the "under manned others" but it's a trap. Just a hunch though.

Absolutley could be. And I'm not saying they have a purpose (or are a larger part of the mystery of the island) -- but at the very least they have some sort of thematic value that I am not seeing... ...of course your theory could be 100 percent correct too.

You actually didn't miss much -- it was a slow (but good, not BEST Madcap ) episode. Basically we learned about Rose and Bernard: Backstory They met and fell in love in less than 5 months. Before agreeing to marry him, she told him that she was sick and had a year to live. For their honeymoon they went to the Outback to see the healer...(you caught the rest). Island Story: Bernard was all about getting off the island in the beginning by building a giant sign to be seen from above. He organized people to do it, but Rose undercut him by saying he was giving people "false hope" (something we have heard Jack say to his dad in recent flashbacks). The whole "sign" idea fell apart when Bernard started to lose it by pushing people too hard. Other Stories From the Ep: Jack / Kate: Jack told Gale he was going to go to the "line" and demand a trade for Walt. (He reiterated the "plan" that Henry told him and Locke which makes me believe, from a writing standpoint, they are setting us up and Michael is indeed a "plant" -- but more on that in a sec). Jack said he wants Walt back to which Gale replied: "They will never give up Walt". Anna said she would go with Jack to the "line" but he wanted her to stay in the hatch with Gale and Locke. She told him ont to go alone, so he invited Kate to come with. While traveling to the line, Jack and Kate get stuck in a Roussou trap and have a sexual/flirty fight about how to get out. They do (quite easily) and on the walk Kate tells Jack about the "costumes" and what she found in the other hatch. Locke: Locke spent the episode trying to redraw the map he saw on the door but was unsuccessful. He also asked Henry (through the door of the vault since Anna wouldn't open it without the gun -- which she gave to Jack) if Henry "really pushed the button". Henry didn't respond, but just smiled. To which, Locke hobbled out of the hatch and spent the rest of the time on the beach sulking until Rose told him that she knew his leg would be healed soon...so Locke knows that Rose knows he was in a wheelchair. Other tidbits: -We found out for sure that Eko and Charlie are indeed building a church (no shock) - We found out there is a "lava" field nearby (hence all the black rocks) - We confirmed that the island does indeed "heal" people. Other interesting bits to consider: 1) The relevance of the "black rocks". Thinking back throuhgout the show, the Black Rocks are a reoccuring element. From the rocks "Adam and Eve" had on their bodies when they first found the caves, to the backgammon games, to Claire's dreams, to the Ship (Roussou calling it the "black rock" when it's not the ship's name at all, it is just RESTING on a black rock), to the GIANT black rock Jack stood near at the "line", to the Lava field. The black rocks mean something... 2) It's obvious the "others" want specific people. They had a list for the Tailies. They wanted Walt. And Jack made it a point to show that they didn't much want: Sawyer, Kate, Jack, Sayid or Locke because they had many opportunities to take them. So, if Michael is indeed a "plant" (as in, they release him and tell him if he brings them X amount of people -- he will get Walt), who will he choose? Hurley? Libby? Rose? Just food for thought.

Never said it was easy...just saying why people question "reaching" to take players ahead of their projected spots. -
One thing I don't understand too well
CosmicBills replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutley. It has nothing to do with how other teams perceive the Bills, it's all about the money. First round contracts are largely established based on where they were selected in the draft. Taking a guy 10 spots too soon could cost the team millions when, just by trading back a few slots and getting the same player, you could have saved all that money. -
Has anyone heard any quality rumors

Like everything else at this point, it has all been speculation. -
Beh-Roooozzzz was most definitely killed. He was put into a van with a tracker in his scalp. They showed the terrorists searching him, then pulling out a knife, then they cut to the CTU van and the tracker goes dead. Poor, poor Beh-Roozzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

While I agree with you that killing Jack would be a shock -- it would also end the show. If I was writing for the show, I would have Jack die in the middle of a season -- in the middle of the episode. Something like a gun fight: Boom, Jack's dead, Curtis has to keep chasing the bad guys. Don't give the audience time to process what happened (and no silent count!). That would be the shock of the year. However, it would also kill the show. Soooo, if they ever do ice Jack, it will most certainly be at the end of the series. -

So much for Bauer dying this season -
I felt like it was an entertaining episode, some new nuggets were doled out -- but I wasn't blown away by it for some reason. It was obvious right away what was going on with Dave & Hurley, and everyone always figured Libby was either an "Other" or in the hospital w/ Hurley. So at least that is now confirmed. The most interesting pieces for me were the ones involving Henry Gale and Locke. But not much there -- though I think Gale is totally f'ing with Locke. He hit the button -- just a different set of numbers (still just a total guess, no proof on that).

In the end....Vernon Davis
CosmicBills replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Davis is my pick as well. The Pats drafted 2 first round TEs when they already had a good/better TE on the roster. Sure those were luxery picks, but having two great TEs on that team surely helped Brady. That being said, Davis to me is not a luxery pick because he is head and shoulders above any TE the Bills have on their roster. Seriously, Ehus is a walking ambulance, Everett is an unknown (and was a project BEFORE tearing his knee up) and Royal, even if he exceeds expectations, still only gives us one TE. -

"Is it true that if you don't use it, you lose it?" "Are you serious?" (even funnier considering the counseler in that scene is his wife in real life )
