If I Recall Correctly...?
-
I thought he was active for 8 of 16...but like I said, I'm not sure on that.
-
The reasons why I believe he's a lock: 1) He rarely dropped a ball at camp or OTAs. 2) Everytime Juron or any coach talks about him, they gush over his abilities and hands. 3) He has made the most of the PT he's had in preseason. 4) He is not eligible for the PS (I believe...could be wrong on this?) Of course I've been wrong many, many times...I'm just saying I got a feeling.
-
I know I'm a broken record now, but I still say they keep 7. But if they do keep 6, the last spot will down to the exact two you mention. I think the locks are: Evans, Parrish, Reed, Price, Wilson. If they keep 7 it'll be Davis and Aiken leaving Freddie on the outside looking in. If they only keep 6, I'd love to say Aiken but I think Davis does more at the WR position. The only reason I think Aiken sticks is because he DID have a great camp at WR from what I saw and read. He had one bad game with two drops, but four good ones on ST. I really think it'll come down to the coaches deciding they need to keep 7 and cutting one of the DBs as a result -- banking on the talent they have there to carry them.

Everyone on that list is a lock but for Davis. Wilson makes it over Davis if they keep 6. But like I said, I think they have to keep 7 cause of Roscoe. If you lose Roscoe to an injury in week 8, you're in trouble trying to fill that spot with a street FA or a PS member. Just a hunch. -

aiken has had a great camp -- and is a special teams beast. He's a lock. Davis is a STer too, Price isn't. He does everything Smith does and more at the WR position. So he will make it over Smith. Wilson is also a lock -- coaches love him. And all the other four are def (Roscoe, Evans, Price and Reed) -

They will need to keep that many just to counter the possibility of Roscoe not making it a full 16. -

They will. Evans, Price, Reed, Parrish, Davis, Wilson, Aiken. -

Yup. KH is the number 2 for sure. And that is saying something about Nall considering how bad Holcomb has looked all camp and prior to tonight. -

So much for Nall being a "Gamer". Guess there was a reason the Packers drafted Rogers... -

So long as he's no where near the field, I'm happy -

Don't you guys remember the old Mike Vick commercials, where he was throwing the ball from the field into the upper deck of the stadium (like 110 yards in the air easy)...those looked real too -- but were clearly edited. Or the Labron James commercials where he is shooting the jummpers from the end line during warmups? Digital editing can do wonders -

Well, that is what Offensive Coordinators tend to do. -

Hell, half of Boston still think the Patriots play in Fenway Park on Sundays. This town makes me sick. -
I'd be happy with anything so long as he keeps improving from game to game as he did last season. He did improve the more he was on the field and has improved in the preseason and camp as well. That being said, what I am expecting based on the following ASSumptions: 1) He starts and finishes all 16 games 2) The offensive line has improved 3) The system is truly more vertical than MM's 3,300 yards (a little over 200 ypg) 30 TD (around there) 15 INT (I'm expecting about a 2:1 TD/INT ratio -- maybe I'm drunk) 450 YDS rushing (about 40 a game) 5 Rushing TD Of course that is best case scenario in my mind. But like I said, I'll take lesser numbers (even much lesser numbers) so long as he continues to show improvement.

SS is most certainly cerebral. All the DBs calls are made by the SS, just as all the line calls are made by the Center.

There are Pats fans in Boston? Where? Ohhh, you mean all the Redsox fans who are now jumping off that sinking ship and clinging to another. Man, I LOVE living in this town right about now. So much fun!

Where is Martin Nance? Andre Davis?
CosmicBills replied to SouthTownBills51's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course it is. I never expected Nance to be anything but a PS member this year. He was undrafted for a reason. However, he did show flashes in the OTAs and mini camps. Enough, according to the coaches, to warrant a PS spot and then another shot at making the team in 07. If he still isn't good enough to make the team then, what's the loss in having him on the PS this year? My point was, if the coaches did see flashes in OTA but know he not good enough to make the team this year, they don't want to put him into the preseason mix and risk him making enough plays so that he would not clear waivers when he is cut. It's pure speculation -- but makes sense when you consider how high the coaches were on him coming into camp and how little PT he has gotten in the preseason. -

All valid points -- but Smith won't be on the team. The 7th spot (if there is one) will be Davis based on his abilities as a WR (and ST) compaired to Fast Freddie. Davis is faster and has the vertical ability as a WR that this offense demands and Smith doesn't possess. Plus, he returns and covers while Smith only returns. Davis will be hard for the Bills to cut I believe. Nance is camp fodder yes, but he did have a good off season and mini camps based on the reports -- which means he'll warrant a PS spot. I think that is the reason why he hasn't played in the pre-season. The coaches already have him penciled in on the PS and want to be sure he slips past waivers when he is cut. I don't think Nance will ever be anything special -- but with a year on the PS and another training camp next year, who knows. Based on what it will cost the Bills to do that, why not take a shot. -
The only thing similar about them is Smith can return punts. Davis is a better fit for the offense with his speed -- AND he returns. Smith is a good player and will catch on somewhere else, but he's facing a numbers game here since he is one dimensional in this offense. If Parrish goes down, the Bills have a number of options at PR including Clements, Davis, McGee, Shaud (if he stays) or JL (if he stays as well). Of course it's just my opinion.
-
If they do only keep six, I would agree with this prediction.
-
No way Aiken is cut... I still say they keep 7. They'll need to just because Parrish is such a frail commodity. Which means it's down to Davis, Nance or Smith. Out of that group, it's gotta be Davis.
