We lost today....why dont I feel
CosmicBills replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Once again....It was only his 9th start!!! -
Being trapped in Patsy-land is seldom fun. But today was good for a Bills related chuckle... About an hour or two before kickoff, I go to pick up my friend who lives in Southie. I am getting out of my car and I see this SUV with a Bills flag on it and two guys in the front seat dressed in matching Losman jerseys looking at a map. I go ask if they're lost, they ask me where the Stadium is. I say, "it's right down the street, take a left," assuming they are talking about the local Bar/Club called the Stadium. "But, it's only 10:30, I'm not sure they're open yet..." I go on. "No, we're looking for Gillette." I was too busy laughing (or biting my tongue) to ask which poster they were, but my money was on Crayonz... So I'm thinking Crayonz is still lost (with another poor Bills fan) in South Boston looking for Gillette Stadium.

Agreed on both parts. Though I for one thought JP showed that he has the ability to be a very, very good player today. In hostile terrtory against a team that has owned the Bills for the past half decade, he played with poise, confidence and made a good deal of plays. He has a ways to go, but he def looked the part of a future star to me. I think this game showed the hunt for a QB is over in Buffalo. But Maroney is going to terrorize the Bills for years. I thought that when the Bills passed on Wolfork a few years ago, and I think that now about Maroney (though, I didn't expect the Bills to take Maroney, just knew it was trouble when he slipped to the Pats).

The game is over....let's look ahead.....
CosmicBills replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There were a lot of positives tonight. And I think they finally found a QB. The rest will come. 9-7 this season. -
Doesn't matter who starts. It matters who plays the most. Dollars to donuts Whitner plays 90 percent of the snaps today. Wire will get the first series. Then be yanked. Just a hunch.

Tell me about it. I was so fired up, I could hardly sleep last night. Got up this morning around 8 and have been listening to the pregame show online since then. It sucks being trapped in Patsy land...

He took over Brad Davies show on Hot Talk 1280. Davies got a new gig in Houston.

Pats cut fast Freddy!!!!!!!!!!
CosmicBills replied to Eric/Hawaii's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. That's the point here. The benefit to the Patriots is slim to none. They can get virtually nothing from Freddy that they couldn't garner from film of St. Louis last season. There is nothing to "pick" in Freddy's head. Not because he's dumb, but because there was no gameplan in place. But, for the player, there is everything to lose. If BB did this in an underhanded way (and not told Smith his intentions), then he basically fukked over Smith for no reason at all. There is nothing to gain for the Pats from a strategy perspective, but everything for Smith to lose from a career perspective. -
Okay, maybe second best to Spider-Man 3...but this trailer has me stoked for the new take on Bond. It's about time they adjusted the franchise. My biggest concern from the first trailer (and the early reports) were that they were going to take Bond down the road of Jason Bourne -- that would be a mistake. Bond can't be Bourne, he has to have a layer of fun/fantasy around him where as Bourne is gritty and more "real". Still, this trailer makes the new flick look more sophositcated, elegant and sexy. Perhaps a return to the adult style action/thriller film. Of course, another big selling point for me is the lack of CGI in Casino Royale. According to reports, "everything that blows up in the movie, they really blew up in production". Thank the lord. More real stunts and less CGI just makes for a cooler movie in my book. http://movies.aol.com/casino-royale-james-...-video-features

CBSSPORTSLINE Preview W/ Kirwan
CosmicBills replied to CosmicBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hadn't realized PK was on a rampage against the Bills. I don't pay attention to him much (if at all). But that report was ridiculous. And it had nothing to do with his expectations that the Bills will lose (whatever, everyone thinks that)...but HOW he presented his information and his ridiculous claim to know the inner thoughts of the "players" on the team and how they prefer KH. Ask Lee who he prefers. Dollars to donuts he prefers the QB that will let him use his speed and not throw 5 yard dink and dunk passes. -
Pats cut fast Freddy!!!!!!!!!!
CosmicBills replied to Eric/Hawaii's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How? What could Smith have told him that he didn't already know? -
Pats cut fast Freddy!!!!!!!!!!
CosmicBills replied to Eric/Hawaii's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As KTFBD and some others have pointed out, it is pure speculation that this was a "sleazy" move. It very well may have been, but we'll never know what BB's true intentions were when they signed Smith. Still, I think we are losing sight of the fact that Smith probably couldn't have given BB much that he didn't already know. The Bills had NOT game planned for NE before Smith was cut -- and if they had, it was very minimal. Gameplans are saved till Tuesday of game week usually. And any sort of playbook information Smith could have given up could just as easily been gathered from watching tape of the Rams last season. This move will have little to no impact on the outcome of tomorrow's game, or the Bills' season. The only person this will impact is Smith who I happen to think is a fine player. -
http://cbs.sportsline.com/ On the "video" section on the right hand of the page is a clip about the game tomorrow. Kirwan states that he "spent a lot of time with both these teams...and the players want KH to start...we will be talking about QB issues next week in Buffalo". Did he just take his notes from last year and re-apply them? Because it's obvious he didn't watch KH in camp OR in the preseason games where JP was clearly the best QB and won the support of the players. Also, they take a nice shot at Marv at the very end of the segment...

Do you really believe that? Both those throws not only were off target, but terrible reads. Daunte did not throw the ball well throughout the game, but he got monumentally worse in the fourth quarter. In fact, he did exactly what he has always done in big spots...got nervous, misread the coverage and lost all his accuracy. This condition was only seen in spots when he had Moss to bail him out...but it was clear as day last season before the injury where he constantly made poor throws and too many mistakes. He did a nice job of throwing his receivers and his O-Line under the bus last year to take the blame, but what he should have done is look in the mirror. Especially since Johnson came in and in nearly the same amount of games and behind the same line put up great numbers. And, Daunte I got news for ya...this line you have in Miami is worse than the Minny line you left. Watch that fourth quarter again. He made 2 good throws. One nearly got his receiver killed and the other was after the game was put away by the Steelers. The Steelers are good on D, but Daunte made them look like the Steel Curtain of the 70s.

Even Pats fans are looking past us!

This is why everyone loves you, Lori. -
Ooooh, Miami...I'm sooooo scared!
CosmicBills replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, but when the pressure was really on was when he gave up trying to complete passes to his own WRs and started throwing the ball to the Steelers instead. -
Another take on tonights game . . .
CosmicBills replied to mannc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sure, they played great till the game was on the line, then Daunte did what only he and Manning do best. Choke. Ditto with Mularkey. Maybe that was a bit offsides. -
Hilarious
-
Add to that his throws (when the game was still win-able) were not even CLOSE. He panicked. Tightened up and misread his own offense, not to mention the defense. Something he did ALL last season with Minn and in every big spot he's played in (even WITH Moss). He is all hype. Just like the Dolphin team.
-
Culpepper has less ability in the clutch than P.Manning. God that last quarter was ugly. Part of me wanted to see the phins win ONLY so they'd look past the Bills next week. But once the the chips were down and I saw how Daunte looked (like the old Daunte), I'm still counting next weekend as a win for the Bills.
-
Would not surprise me. Except for the whole "never surrender" bit. The Bills are going to win one of their first two games. My money is on an upset in Miami. That might throw a wrench in your hopes

MY keys to success on Sunday
CosmicBills replied to BuffaloBilliever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The key to winning is to score more points than the other team. But maybe that's just me. -
JP's quotes say it all about last year's coaching
CosmicBills replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The difference though is that Gregg Williams, I believe, will one day be a very, very good head coach. He was just to green when he came to Buffalo. I felt that way when he left, and watching him in DC only reinforces that point for me. MM on the other hand, might be in over his head at the HC level. -
Brady on the local Boston radio here was just interviewed about the injuries facing the Pats and the Branch situation. He said (paraphrasing because i was in the car): "We should have most back by Week Three, that's when we'll need them. When we play Denver. So we should be good. I wouldn't bet against us." Just good bulliten board material for both the Bills AND the Jets. BB is going to love that one come tonight.

- Any DMB live album is fantastic, but start with Live at Redrocks. - Also any Matthews/Tim Reynolds live disk is great, especially Luther College - Always partial to Pulse from Floyd For some good soul, the best you can get is Sam Cooke's "One Night Stand: Live at the Harlem Square Club". Fantastic.
