Ah.....ART History Majors.
-
And we got all the chicks.... .....who wore glasses and liked to talk about Manifest Destiny while they got down.
-
How did I miss that one!
-
Apparently we can't run very fast.

Beat up? No. Wedgied? Occasionaly. Their excellent knowledge of charts and graphs made it tough to outrun them in the halls. They knew all the angles to take.

Cool (no pun intended), thanks. Never knew that. -

Not disagreeing at all, just curious as to why this is? -
Who on this franchise would do this?
CosmicBills replied to RuntheDamnBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree. There this whole thing sounds too fishy. Could it have happened? Absolutley. Will we ever know? Nope. So what's the point in worrying about it as fans? -
I've been doing a commercial black out... ....is it really 13 weeks? I knew about the new schedule, but I thought it was only 8 weeks (2 months basically). Damn.

Most teams now call 2 plays as well in the huddle. One pass and one run. So double that. As for why they speak in tongues, it's just simplier (believe it or not) once you get the vocab down. It's shorter to say "F" or "Check" than "Skinny Post, Dig Route, 10 Yard In" etc, etc. Each "route" isn't just: Post, Fly, In, Out, Hook...it has a different name depending on the distance of the cuts the WR makes. Same for protection -- it sounds complicated (and it is) but once you learn the language it's more efficent. I didn't believe it till I got to college ball and had to deal with it. It just clicks eventually. But it took a while...and I wasn't a QB. But the new vocab is always the hardest part for the players to learn when they get a new coordinator. Offensive systems aren't all that different, but each coach has their own vocab that takes time to learn.

I don't think it premiers until October...? I could be wrong. Where's UCONN when you need him?

I dont care about his numbers.....my hat goes

No, it's the people who have rigid agendas. Agenda's immune to factual evidence, rational observations, or objective discussions. Being unwilling to change your mind despite the evidence to the contrary is what it means to be stubborn. I respect people who have opinions, even those different than my own. It's what makes life interesting. And it doesn't bother me that you and JDG have this steadfast agenda to be proven right about JP. It's your choice. I just think it's hilarious when you and JDG put the priority of your agenda above reason and more importantly above the team's success. Because it's not about the team, it's not about the QB, it's about you guys. You don't see it -- but that's what it is. Narrow, unenlightened self interest does not impress me. But it does make me laugh. Doesn't mean I wouldn't have a beer with either of you guys and laugh about it. In the end we're still talking about the same thing -- Bills football. And that is always a good thing. -

I don't think it's an issue of HA or JDG knowing too little. They both might be very intelligent, probably are, in their personal lives and work. The issue really is that they are more concerned with being "right" than objectively looking at the situation. They (more JDG than HA) bend every situation and fact to fit THEIR pre conceived belief that JP is terrible and a waste of a roster space rather than looking at the whole picture objectively. It's not about the Bills or JP. It's about them. And THAT is the problem. Narrow, unenlightened self-interest does not impress me. Never has, never will. -

Another brilliant analysis. The coaches were so concerned about JP and his lack of ability, they called his number inside the redzone when the game was still very much in doubt in the second half. The result? A TD pass to Reed. This of course came one play after calling JP's number on a deep pass to Evans which resulted in a PI. Yup. You're right. The coaches have no confidence in JP whatsoever. -

Seriously, step away from the ledge. Look at what you are saying with a bit of rational thought and objectivity for once.... -"This stage of his development": Okay, 10 starts. You're right. He should be in the Hall Of Fame already. Brilliant. -"Our other options at QB".... Because Holcomb thrived in this new vertical offense in camp and the preseason and Nall is a stud who couldn't stick as the number 3 in Greenbay. Again, brilliant. Sigh. -
I think you are right. He did not play a great game, but when looking at the game just in terms of JP's development from last year to this, it was a positive effort. The W aside (thought that is all that matters), JP did what was asked of him yesterday. More than that, there was not one throw he made where I cringed thinking it was a terrible read or a poor throw. Which is a nice change from last season. He threw one (I think) in the dirt, but that was when he was getting hit by a defender. He had a couple nice deep balls that were good reads, well thrown, just dropped, PI'ed. His decision making is what I looked at -- and THAT has gotten a lot better. Numbers and stats don't tell the whole picture in yesterday's game. All the other factors have to be considered like the heat, the fact they were playing on the road, the success the running game was having etc. etc. Did he play great? Not at all. Did he show improvement from week one to week 2? I think so. And that's all I can ask for right now.

That was an impressive block. You have to give him credit for that. Poor Jimmy, first game back and he got lit up. Right in front of the microphone too. Ouch. -

I know I shouldn't respond....but....this sort of ridiculousness deserves it.... What does him being benched have to do with his progress from the end of last season to this one? Who said anything about him being benched in 2005?! There are you go again, ignoring the real issues here and pounding away at that square peg. If you watched last season OBJECTIVELY (impossible for you, I know), then you would have seen JP progressed after being benched and got better. You are so concerned about his "progress"...well, he's made progress and is continuing to make progress every snap. His reads are sharper, his accuracey is up. He has all the physical tools (great arm and legs), the rest comes with experience which he is gaining. That development continued into the preseason of this year. He is not the same QB he was in week 2 of last year. He is light years ahead of where he was. But you can't see that because you want to be right. This isn't about JP. This isn't about the Bills. It's about you. -
It's not about JP or the Bills. It's about JDG's crusade. He HAS to be proven correct because he is the smartest, most analytical fan on the board and the rest of us don't have an "accurate assessment on JP's true progress". To prove his case he is willing to bend any fact, poorly analyse any play and use a sledge hammer to pound a square peg into a round hole. He's becoming the Ron Popeal (sp) of TSW, wearing an ugly sweater, a porn star mustache circa 1973 and trying to convince us that a vacuum cleaner can cut our hair better than a barber can...for only $19.99! But for the rest of us, it's hilarious to watch. The hole gets deeper and deeper. Soon he'll be speaking Chinese.

A winning streak is possible
CosmicBills replied to CosmicBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You could be right. I think @ Indy is tougher, but that might be based more on reputation than merit. I also think SD and Jax will be tougher games than some might expect -- though the Bills do get to play them at home, hopefully in a blizzard. -
Your "ass"essment makes you look like an ass. Your blind hatred of JP and desire to be right is hilarious and narcissistic. In your anylsis, you only point out the BAD plays and reads. Your interpretation of "poor reads" is laughable at times. The two passes to Lee today were good reads and should have been caught (tough catches, but a number 1 receiver has to come up with those), not to mention they were very accurate. And when JP does do soemthing right, you give credit to everyone BUT him. That isn't a demonstration of good analyitical skills, it's a demonstration of your crusade to be proven right -- despite the facts. Even your sig line with JP's "progress" is misleading and bullshizit. Want to see progress? Then look at the numbers objectively....(minus today's game since the stats page isn't updated). Year G GS Att Comp Pct Yds TD Int Rate 2004 4 0 5 3 60.0 32 0 1 39.2 2005 9 8 228 113 49.6 1340 8 8 64.9 2006 1 1 23 15 65.2 164 0 0 86.1 His completion percentage is up, as is his QB Rating. This after two games on the road against divisional opponents known for their defenses. Your one act show is a joke.

Agree 100 percent. But, I don't see the Jets beating the Bills. I just don't. Since it's a divisional game, it will be tough. But the Bills are a better team on paper and it's the home opener coming off of a huge road win. The Bills will be ready. The Jets, as good as they looked, are still the Jets. Unproven O-Line, suspect QB and RB play. Good Defense. It'll be a good game, but the Bills will win.
