17 year old sentenced to 10 years in prison for...

Un-!@#$ing-real. -
Simple poll. I'm really just curious as to what TBD thinks of Clements chances of staying a Bill. Note: This is not a poll as to whether or not you WANT Nate back. It's about whether you think he WILL or WILL NOT be back with the team.

That sack was interesting. I don't think it was on him though -- it was a protection call (I'm guessing, but fairly certain) on the line when the blitz was shown. When a call like that is made, it's basically telling the G & T who is getting the backer and who they are leaving for the RB to pick up. It looked to me that the RB (not Willis, I think it was ATrain?) and Pennington went for the same guy, leaving Crowder untouched. Either Pennington got the wrong call, or the RB did. Only the coaches will know that one when they watch film. But to me, if I'm on the line in that play, I kick out the end like Pennington did because it makes for an easier block for the RB. That's why I think it was the RB who missed the call. But I'm guessing.

Agreed. But what was impressive to me was how polished he looked at times for a rookie lineman against arguably one of the better front 7s in the league. I would be shocked if they end up drafting an OT high in the next draft. Maybe an OG or C but the Tackles are set for now.

I spent today's game focusing on Pennington. The kid can play. Period. He is still raw and his footwork was sloppy at times (though he has GREAT feet in terms of speed for a RT), but his strength and competitiveness was on display today. He's got a lot of tools. I'm not proclaiming him a pro-bowler by any means, but after watching him closely today I feel confident that the Bills have finally found their bookends on the OL.

The question this week is who will BlueFire be rooting for? The Bills or Vince?

Even if you're being serious about enjoying Pootie Tang, this might be the funniest post I've read in a while. -

What is the movie you absolutely hate...

I saw Magnolia in the theaters on opening weekend. I was a fan of Boogie Nights too, so I was excited for it. I kind of dug the first 2 hours of the movie, then the last 12 hours of it I was ready to gouge my eyes out. Then came the frogs...packed movie theater, and I was laughing my ass off! Everyone else is in silent shock or tears, and I was rolling because of how ridiculous it was. If the people had eggs, I would have been pelted with them -
Schobel Video on BuffaloBills.com
CosmicBills replied to CosmicBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is hilarious -- the funny thing to me is that I think that clip is the most I've heard Schobel talk in his entire tenure with the Bills...COMBINED. Based on that interview and personality, I want to hear more interviews in the future. Gotta love people who know how to play hard but also know that the game is just that -- a game. -
I might have missed a post about this video earlier in the week, but the video in the multi-media section with Schobel discussing his AFC DPOW award is worth checking out. Especially the wiffle ball comments. It had me laughing out loud. I also love how he just keeps !@#$ing with the reporters who call him a "high motor guy". http://www.buffalobills.com/multimedia/index.html

They Don't Make Them Like They Used To
CosmicBills replied to Chef Jim's topic in Off the Wall Archives
As for this, this of course is very cool. And you know I wasn't trying to disrespect you, or your accomplishments, in an earlier post. But even though you were successful at 21, does this mean that if the paparazi followed you around 24/7 for a year, they wouldn't have stumbled upon you in some compromising positions? (No pun intended)... -
They Don't Make Them Like They Used To

I agree and disagree with this... First, yes -- Lohan, Spears and Hilton are certainly millionares. But they didn't earn their money by being skanks. If anything, being skanky hurt their careers. Lohan: Was a child actor who got had three huge movies before she was even 17 and certainly before she was considered "skanky". This launched her onto the scene, then she parlayed that into a (short) signing career. It was after that, when she was 18 that the tabloids got a hold of her and the wheels fell off. She still makes money, yes. But she is tabloid fodder for the moment, and will continue to be as long as she remains "skanky". Spears: Made her millions as a former mickey mouse club pop idol. Innocent yet sexy -- not skanky -- made her the celebrity that she was then. Once things got out of control with her, she lost money, lost deals and opportunities, and now her career does not look bright and shiney. Hilton: Is an heiress. She inhereted her money. Sure, she had a show on Fox that celebrated her ignorance (but hey, it's FOX) and a movie or two. But she became rich by being born. Not by being a skank. What keeps these three in the spotlight is the fact that they are sideshows. Freak shows. People watch them as they watch a car wreck. Why? Because the media won't let them fade away. People can become "celebrities" for being colorful, skanky, infamous...and that has always been the case. The difference now is that there is more of an opportunity with the expanding media outlets. But they can't become "Stars" in the sense that Hepburn, Kelly or Bergman were stars. None of these women are better off career wise because of their skanky-ness. If anything, it's hurt their long term futures in the entertainment world. Audrey and Grace are not fair comparisons. If anything, compare Grace and Audry to Portman, Swank, or Knightly. If you do that, I'll think you'll see that the movie stars of today are held to a pretty high standard. Even when they don't enjoy the same sort of privacy that the starts of yesterday received. -
If it's not narcissim, then enlighten all of as to why you "disagree entirely with the announcement," yet your "disagreements have nothing to do with JP Losman's performance..." What else could you base the evaluation of JP as a QB other than on his performance on the field? Do you judge your QB by the way he pumps gas? Eats a bagel? Cuts his hair? Please, educate us.

What is the movie you absolutely hate...

Hahahaha! Gotta give VA credit for that one. That's going way back in TSW history. I forget the exact thread, but it was something about movies and someone (wasn't it you VA?) had shunned a lot of good films. Then when pressed about what films they actually like, they said: "Daddy Day Care". And as for me, the two movies I can't stand: "Magnolia" Ugh.... And "Lost in Translation". -
He can't and he won't because it's not about the Bills. It's about him being right and everyone else being wrong.

They Don't Make Them Like They Used To
CosmicBills replied to Chef Jim's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Not at all. What I am saying is that the tabloid media is out of control and there is no privacy left. If 100 reporters followed you around, taking pictures every minute of the day for 3 weeks when you were 21 years old, what sort of stuff would they have seen? I'd wager they would uncover some pretty scandelous stuff -- for us all (not calling you out specifically). Still, your whole argument to me isn't valid because Audry and Grace can't be compaired to Lohan, Hilton or Spears. Not in career, not in personality. And that isn't just because "they don't make 'em like they used to". You think there weren't skanky women in the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, or 70s? Of course there were. Plenty of them. And there were plenty of skany women that would have strolled around half naked or filmed themselves having sex if it meant a boost in their celebrity status. The difference between then and now is that there was no outlet, no 24 hour celebrity news cycle in which to document these trollops back then. Now there is. Technology, the media, and the human apatite for the absurd give these women a platform that other women have never had. For better and for much, much worse. -
Of course it doesn't. Your disagreement comes from the fact that you want to be proven right more than you want the Bills to win. Funny how narcisism works, ain't it?

Which would be your LEAST favorite way to login?
CosmicBills replied to Fezmid's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Agreed. And, it's much easier to forge a signature than it is an iris scan. -
If I'm not wrong, he has one year left on his deal after this. He has been announced as the starter for '07. If he has a great 07 campaign, he'll be a big commodity on the UFA market and his cost will skyrocket. However, if the Bills extend him now for say, 3 to 4 years, they will get him at a considerably lower rate. It has nothing to do with polishing his knob. It has to do with good cap sense.
-
I'll say it again... 1) Resign: Nate and London. 2) Extend: JP, Lee and Willis. To me, that would be a fantastic off season. Keep our young guys in Buffalo. Prevent them from even sniffing the market. With close to 40 million in cap space, all this is very doable.
