Some tips on how to enjoy the day properly! Clip -
Oh. My. God. You just became my hero. Again.

Certainly she could have ... but what makes me question that was the reaction of Kate's mother. She wanted to see her grandson. I don't think there would be as strong a desire or motivation for her to see her grandson if she didn't believe it to be blood. You know? I think Kate is literally passing Aaron off as hers.

Guys, I'm fairly certain Jin is in fact dead-dead-dead. Not just back on the island. We're forgetting Jack's testimony during Kate's trial where he recounted the fabricated events of Flight 815. He said 8 survived and 2 died on the island. Meaning, they have bodies for those people ... my money is on Jin being one of those bodies. Sun and Hurley both looked too broken up about it for him just to be still missing. Aditionally, the episode was riddled with foreshadowing of his death, including his line "I'll do whatever it takes to protect you and the baby." When a character says that you might as well start preparing the toe tag. He's dead. The Oceanic 6 are: Sun Hurley Kate Jack Sayid Aaron (?) The only question mark there is Aaron -- and the reason he's a question to me is because Kate is passing him off as her own. Her own mother thinks the kid is blood. So does that mean Kate fabricated that she was pregnant on the plane? I'm not sure how that works ... but I think Aaron is supposed to be part of the 6. Ben obviously does not count even though we know he survives, nor does Michael since he is using a fake name. The one other clue we got last night was the time frame for how long before the Oceanic 6 get rescued. Juliette said 3 weeks before Sun gets too sick to survive ... so the Lostaways don't have too much longer on the island. And Jin doesn't have too much longer to live.

Why has it been flushed down the toilet? You mean the missing posts, or this episode ruined a theory you held?
-
Any of these ... but a particular nod to the second clip! Best Deaths Ever!

Totally, especially since it's produced by that AJ Abraham guy who did that show Felicity and the one with the spy chick. I hear he wants to direct the pilot too ... I'll pass.

I have to admit, I never thought I would get into hockey. I had to cover the Sabres during their last cup run vs Dallas -- and definitely got into the playoffs, but quickly forgot about hockey. Last year I followed the playoffs thanks mainly to the people here on TSW hyping the Sabres. It was fun, a great to see Buffalo (in anything) doing so well. This season, I ordered the Center Ice package just so I could follow them the whole year and I have never been so happy to be wrong. This is just a fun team (and sport) to watch.

Just to remind us that they still exist. Truth be told, their story is pretty much over. They decided they are staying on the Island no matter what. And as Jack said to Jules, wanting to get off the Island "makes you one of us". Plus, Rose is a Broadway actress so she can only shoot a certain amount of eps a season. I don't expect her back in these last 4. I could be wrong though.
-
The only way you could argue they squeaked past is if you believe that 3rd goal for the Isles should have counted. However, what I love about the Sabres this season is their killer instinct. They didn't wait for it -- the Isles were distraught about the non-goal, and the Sabres went right down the ice and got the clincher. It was a great, great goal which showed a lot about the team's moxie. Just my worthless two cents.

Darn it, really Pooj? I should have searched harder on here first. My bad

Couple quick points: 1. The lights against the sky was the flight suit beacon of the chick they found. There was only one, not two, and they followed it into the jungle. The large splash into the ocean was, I believe, the actual chopper. That's why Des was so upset -- he feared the chopper crashed in the ocean before the person jumped out, since his vision didn't have the "splash". 2. The Kate and Sawyer thing was awesome -- she was jealous of Jack and Jules and was using Sawyer to get back at Jack in a way. It's a twisted mind game between the two of them. She wants what she can't have sorta thing (women...). It's just good character writing. 3. In your other post you said "Locke is just guessing". I'm not so sure about that. I'm beginning to think Locke sees things in much the same way that Desmond does. Ben told Locke "you have a communion with this island ... and that makes you very, very important". Locke may well see flashes (we know he did with Boone and with how to save Eko from the bear) just as Desmond, he just never announced it to everyone other than saying, "The island will tell us." This makes a lot of sense then as to what Ben's "plan" is with Jules. Ben was always interested in getting Locke because he viewed him as important. And now that Des is connected to the island -- he seems intent on getting him as well. Perhaps that is why Jules is on the beach for a week. To get to know Des better. The last episode with her seemed to allude to that with the camera work as she took a long, hard look at him before tying the final knot. 4. Random insider note: The conversation about Flash and Superman was hilarious, but also intertextual. JJ wrote the first script for Superman Returns and it was canned -- something he was upset about. And now, he is on the short list for directors/writers for the new Flash movie. Putting that conversation into that context cracked me up.

Pos as fast or faster than Willis?
CosmicBills replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like the post, but there is one thing that I can't get my head around -- why people on TSW believe the Bills need TWO starting LBs out of this draft? Crowell is going to be the MLB and Ellison the WLB. Unless we switched to the 3-4 when I wasn't looking, there is only one starting spot open. Of course, if they draft a MLB, Crowell could move to SLB -- but I really don't believe the staff wants him there. In essence, drafting Willis creates a new hole on the defense. Which is why I don't believe the Bills, despite the hype, have him in their sights. Call me crazy. -
Who is doing a better talent evaluation job
CosmicBills replied to oregonbbfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed -- it's really apples and oranges. You could argue that scouting NFL talent is easier since you have a larger body of work to evaluate. There is less "guess work" so to speak. To me, the guy with the toughest job is Overdorf who has to deal with the cap. That is the guy who I believe makes more of an impact. He has to figure out who they can get and at what cost, plus factor in the long term decisions for the franchise (is Dockery worth two or three Duke Prestons? Okay, bad example but you get the drift). -

32 killed in Va. Tech shootings
CosmicBills replied to stuckincincy's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Even that may be too soon. -
It was Richard -- Ben's manservant who he told to come back. But he was in Miami (that's what the paper said when he showed the date). My post above talked about it a bit. I don't think it's a bio dome, but there are only a select few who go back and forth between the real world and the island, Richard being one of them. I think Ben said "get back here as fast as you can, we may have new guests" ... so that could mean a couple minutes (if your theory is right) or a couple weeks. It's too ambigious right now to be certain either way.

Now that Miami will get green

His career was over the moment Randy Moss left for Oakland. Even before the injury, he was one of the most over-hyped QBs of our day. -
I just got done re-watching the last 5 episodes ... the lady friend was behind, so we had a mini marathon this weekend (yes, I am that much of a nerd) Anyway, I had a couple of observations which I missed the first time around -- some are just observations, others are little details which I spun into possible theories. Just felt like sharing. 1. "Richard": In Locke's episode "The Man From Talhassee" where Locke blows up the sub, Ben tells Richard to bring him the man from Talhassee who of course turns out to be Locke's father. We see Richard at the end of the episode when he unlocks (no pun intended) Locke and says, "you're not going to do anything stupid, are you?". He looked familiar but I wasn't sure where we saw him before. Then, in Juilette's episode we see him again, as the man who recruited her to the Island. Later, in that same episode, Ben brings Juilette to the Flame station and shows her a live feed of her sister -- and tells Richard to "hurry back, we may have new guests". So it appears Richard is one of the few Others who spends his time going back and forth from the real world to the Island. In Locke's episode, Ben tells Locke that he needs to keep "the illusion" that people are free to come and go -- though he really wants them to make a full commitment (more on this in a second). Yet both Ethan and Richard appear to be the exception to this. He needs them both on the outside and on the island. Just something that is worth noting. 2. "Kate, not Claire is the 'mother' on the plane": When Ben and Juilette are talking at the flame he mentions that she can't leave until her work is finished. She retorts that there are no more mothers left, but Ben tells her that "maybe there is one on the plane". Now we could take that to mean Claire, but she's already pregnant and Juilette said the problem happens "at conception", making her irrelevant. But Kate ... or Sun (who may or may not have been knocked up before the Island) are ripe (pun intended) targets. It just adds more to my theory about Kate and Sawyer being made to mate. Perhaps the whole plan, all along, has been to bring these two together on the Island. Too simple (or contrived) perhaps -- but it fits. 3. "Juliette and her work": This is a far flung theory which I'm not sold on, but it croped up when thinking about Ben "needing to convince people to stay" on the island. We already know he is a master manipulator. We also know that there is a problem with women having babies on the island. However, Sun is preggers, Alex, Aaron and Ben were born on the island -- making that "problem" a bit dubious. In last week's episode, Ben talked about an "implant" in Claire which he activated to make her symptomatic. My thought was, what if the "problem" wasn't real, but just something Ben designed to make Juilette stay on the island? We've seen him manipulate, lie, cheat and abuse his power. It's not out of left field. However, there are problems with this. Namely that Juilette didn't bat an eye when he told her about the implant. If she wasn't aware of it, then she would have raised a few red flags (unless she is planning on staying with the Lostaways as some believe). Secondly, Ben did kill his own people (the women) just to make her stay -- that seems like a stretch unless Juilette is really, really important. Not sure. 4. "Locke got his ass whooped": I didn't notice this the first time, maybe others did and I missed the comments. But when Locke comes in to tell Kate he's leaving, his right hand is bandaged and his left eye is black and blue. Those injuries weren't there when we saw him after blowing up the sub. Something happened between the time he saw his father and then we saw him with Kate. Did he fight his father? Did the Others make them duke it out till the death? I'm not sure, but I'll be anything the next Locke episode will be a flashback about that missing 10 hours or so. 5. "Ben's Plan": Juliette tells Ben in the last episode, "I know you want me on the beach ..." I talked about this a bit before, why does she need to be on the beach? I was hoping for more clues, but found none. Ben has a time schedule in place (one week), and they already know everything about everyone on the beach ... except for Desmond. She took a long look at Des, makes me wonder if he is who she is supposed to watch for the week. Maybe he is important more than we know. EDIT: One thing I forgot about time. Before Juilette drinks the tranqualizer, Richard tells her that she "will be amazed at how time flies once you get there". It could be a meaningless line, but it could also add more fuel to the whole time wrinkle element people here have mentioned before.

Biscuit, I respectfully disagree. I've said it all off season and firmly believe that the lack of a possession #2 WR hurt the Bills' offense more than anything else last season -- even more than the OL. The Bills need a large body to take up the middle zone, someone who can be a target in the redzone and can cause matchup problems for opposing LBs and CBs. A game breaking TE would be ideal, but none are really out there in the draft this year. However, at WR there are a couple. Mechem is that sort of play. I'm reminded of the 2000 draft (or was it '99) when the Colts were on the clock in the first round. They were loaded on offense with Manning, Harrison, Edge and a nice OL. But their defense was a mess. Everyone said they need to go Defense in round one. But instead -- they took Reggie Wayne. Now, I'm not crazy and saying the Bills are anywhere near as talented as those Colts were, but the logic is the same. They needed to give Manning another weapon and take the pressure off of Harrison and Edge. Plus, if your offense scores at a clip of 30 points a game, your defense will instantly look a lot better. There are two holes right now on the Bills' roster -- RB and LB. Arguably you can fill the RB in rounds 2/3. It's also possible to fill the OLB in rounds 2/3 as well. I'm not advocating the Bills passing up on Willis or AP if they are there at 12, however -- there is a lot of logic to taking a player like Mechem at 12 to 18. If nothing else, a player like him would improve the running attack regardless of who's back there. And if the offense is more prolific -- the defense won't have to worry about stopping the run as much since teams will be forced to play catchup. Just my worthless two cents.

The simple fact that SI has the Bills possibly taking him at 12 is proof enough to me that the Bills won't take him at 12. It's kind of like a Clayton guarantee.

Farve is 100% certain that Randy Moss will be a Packer.

Damn! I'm usually better than that, Dibs -
This is where we part ways in your otherwise great post. The staff and front office is very high on Ellison on the outside and Crowell in the middle. In their eyes, there is one hole at LB right now, not two. Barring injury, Ellison will be the day one starter, as will Crowell. The back up RBs on the roster now are not much better than the backup LBs we have in place. Coy Wire and Stammer don't exactly inject a feeling of confidence in the fans, though I suspect the coaches think much higher of Coy at OLB than we do based on how quickly they moved to lock him up to a multi year deal this off season. That being the case, I think it's fair to say that the needs at LB and RB are equal. Both positions have 1 gaping hole to fill. If Peterson is available at 6, I would not be suprised to see the Bills make a move up -- though personally I would be against it. Something in my gut keeps telling me the Bills don't have a RB or a LB targeted at 12. I can't explain it, it defies most reasonable logic, but I don't think they will take either Willis or Lynch -- even if both are available at 12.

If McNabb is just entering his prime at 30, why isn't Manning in his prime at 31?
