  1. If they believe that Bradford is a franchise QB (and according to our inside source on the board here they do), then that would be a STEAL. Either way, the Bills aren't contenders in 2010. Finding a franchise QB is the hardest piece of the puzzle. Giving up 2 second round picks to get one? Done. That said, it won't happen. Bradford is going number 1.
  2. He's going to look REAL good in a Yankee uniform in about 5 years.
  3. *Shakes fist towards the sky " U GOOGLEBOT!!!!"
  4. If he's a Bill, I hope you are right. But if he's not a Bill, wanna take a bet on that? A friendly wager, maybe something to do with our avatars?
  5. Wait ... for real?
  6. Not as a QB he won't be. Book that.
  7. It was a joke. But I don't really think Mel Kiper is too far removed from MAD magazine.
  8. I like MAD magazine's draft coverage too.
  9. You're of course 100000% right that OT is a huge hole. But so too is QB. It's a cliched argument now, but franchise QBs are much more important and much more difficult to find than good OTs. That's how you should look at the 9 pick. If Clausen is there and they pass on him for an OT then that means they must not like Clausen too much. But if they take Clausen over an OT, you should just have some faith that they found their franchise QB and can find OL help in round 2 ... unless you're convinced Clausen is a bum. I personally can't judge QB's potential so I have no idea.
  10. Yeah, that's a good article. I think you linked me to it when he was first hired? (or maybe it was someone else). I'm going into the draft, and the season, with high hopes that the Bills finally have their act together as far as philosophies go in the front office and on the sideline. So, I'm trying not to think about that too much (or hope to be proven wrong). But it makes the draft painless for me because I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. If they pass on Clausen, I'll be fine with it, assuming they know what they're doing. If they take him, I'll feel the same. The only pick that will drive me nuts is Spiller (it would be a waste of a pick). I just want the draft to get here already:)
  11. If he believes this, we're in a lot of trouble. A lot of trouble. Note: I don't care if they take an OT or a QB at 9. We need both. But this is a passing league now. Not a running league. So I hope our coach understands this.
  12. Anger management can work wonders... seriously, you might want to look into that. The point, if you cared to read it and try to understand it, is that even if you think Tebow is the answer at QB as you proclaim, then you trade back from 9, get more picks, and take him later in the first round. Why? Because there's zero chance that Tebow goes before pick 20. I'd even be willing to up that number to 30. So taking Tebow at 9, regardless of how good he is, means that you don't understand how to draft for value. Sorry, but that's a fact, not an opinion.
  13. Again, you're failing to see the big picture and are blinded by the glamor of a flashy position that is becoming less and less relevant in the modern game.
  14. Well this just says all we need to know about your ability to understand risk management and drafting for value.
  15. I was (and am) a Smith fan. He was a good back, but his transformation in NE is proof of what I'm talking about. The NE passing game made Smith look even better than he was in Buffalo because they used the pass to set up the run. Which is how all the best teams do it now. It used to be reversed, you had to run to set up the pass. Not anymore. That said, Smith was a good back. But Jackson showed me way more this season as far as athleticism than Smith ever did. If you put Jackson on those NE teams, they still win those Super Bowls and he puts up as good, if not better, stats.
  16. But that's the whole point! They were productive and it translated to zero playoff games. Fred Jackson had as good of a year if not better than either of these guys put up as Bills and even that amounted to a wasted season. Why? Not because they aren't good. But because the team is littered with holes and still operating as if this is the NFL of 1999. It isn't. It's a passing league now. Let me put it another way. Let's, for the sake of argument, say Spiller was Drafted by the Bills in the first round in 2003 instead of Willis. Let's, for the sake of argument, say the Spiller is every bit as good as people hope. Do you think that with just him on the team, the Bills pick up enough wins to make the playoffs in those 7 seasons if everything else was the same? The answer is no. So, that being the case, why keep flushing first round picks down the drain? This would be an entirely different conversation if the Bills didn't have huge holes at QB, OL, DL, WR, and LB.
  17. Really??? I'd love to! Have you guys won any more titles?!?
  18. Again, I disagree. If they trade Lynch for picks (which I don't think will happen), then they should STILL use their picks to fix the other holes on the roster because they still have Jackson. But it would be good to spend a 3rd or 4th rounder on a HB in that scenario. Again, think of how many 1st round picks the team has wasted on 1st round RBs in the past decade and change. Antwain Smith (97), Willis ('03), Lynch ('07) ... how many playoff games have they won in that time? And, out of all of them, who's been better than Jackson? And we found Jackson where? .... NFL Europe. RBs, even very good ones, are a dime a dozen. They simply aren't worth investing the cap space and resources of a first round pick unless you're one player away from a title. Sorry, but thems the facts.
  19. Don't misunderstand me. I'm not saying that RBs are worthless. You obviously NEED a running game, or at least the threat of one. What I'm saying is that it's far easier to find a RB capable of giving your team just that outside of the first round. And, more to the point, we already HAVE those RBs on the roster. Two of them in fact.
  20. You're f*&king joking right? There's no way you're that dense, is there?
  21. I'd have no problem with that. Like I said, I'm pretty open minded when it comes to this year's draft. Even though I'm anti-Tebow, if they take him, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Same with Clausen who I'm also on the fence about. The ONLY pick that would make me cry would be Spiller at 9. Because, as I said previously, even IF he's a Hall of Fame player, it would still not help the Bills win the Super Bowl more than fixing the OL, QB, DL would. And, taking a HB early ties up a ton of cap money in a position that is, as we said, overrated in today's high flying NFL.
  22. You're assuming Lynch wants out. Jackson has 2-3 solid years left, if not more. HB is the most overrated position in the NFL today and the easiest position to fill on a team. Don't believe me? Look around at the starting HBs in the league. How many elite backs are there? Peterson? Gore? Johnson? How many Super Bowls have those three led their teams to? I rest my case. And Peterson didn't even make the playoffs until Favre came on board, proving how much more valuable QB is than RB. By all means, take a RB in the later rounds. But there's no use in taking a RB in the first 3 rounds for a team that has so many other holes.
  23. I should add this ... I don't really care who they pick at 9, or if they trade back for more picks. I'm putting my faith in the front office's ability to judge talent better than the past three incarnations until they prove me wrong. This team has so many holes (QB, OL, DL, LB, WR) that they could pick blindfolded and still fill a need at 9. Even if it's someone who's not "popular" on the board. However, taking a RB, ANY RB at any point in the first 2 rounds would be a waste of a pick and show that this team has learned nothing about how to win in the modern NFL. And that would be very, very bad for us fans. RB and DB are the one position on the field where we DON'T have anything even close to resembling a need. Lynch and Jackson are good enough to win a Super Bowl with. They can both do as much (or more) than Spiller can to help this team win. There's absolutely no good reason to take Spiller at 9. None. Truth is, the Bills won't be winning any championships until they get a franchise QB and fix their OL regardless of who their RB is.
  24. How can people honestly vote for Spiller?
  25. Tonight's episode is one of my favorites in the past few seasons ...
