  1. Read back a few posts. But to sum it up, anyone but a RB.
  2. I never said the Bills suck. But picking a RB at 9 makes me question the abilities of the new front office and whether or not they will be at all different from TD and Levy. So far, it doesn't look like that's the case. But thanks!
  3. I wasn't calling you retarded or even borderline. Sorry if that's how it came across. Mine too was light hearted and a riff about putting too much faith in any draft grades. Because the whole draft grading industry is, I'm sorry, retarded. Not borderline though. Flat out, 100% retarded.
  4. I didn't want Clausen. I wanted anyone but a RB in round 1. Now, take some adderrall and sit in the corner for five minutes.
  5. Fred Jackson was a difference maker in 09. He was the best player on the team. Lynch was drafted to be a difference maker with the 11th pick in 07. And we've given up on him already? Just like we did with Willis. Just like we did with Travis. Just like we did with Antwain Smith. So what happens in '12 when we give up on Spiller and draft the next "waterbug" RB with a high first round pick? Taking a RB in the first round is stupid unless you're a player away from a super bowl. The Bills clearly aren't. That's the bottom line.
  6. Thank you for proving my point. When they were the number 1 seed they had committed to Collins who was having a tremendous year, they had Haynseworth and one of the best defenses in the league. And Johnson was splitting carries with White (1,222 yards 9 TDs on 251 carries compaired to 358 carries in 2009). Then, despite Johnson getting better (more yards and TDs), the Titians lost more games because of an unsettled QB situtation, poor DL play and a lack of a second RB to help shoulder the load. Again, more proof that RBs are overvalued. You don't need a Chris Johnson to win a super bowl. You need a franchise QB and a good defense. The Bills have neither.
  7. Then I stand corrected. I did not mean to imply that he has average speed. He doesn't. But every player in the NFL is fast.
  8. And yet, despite rushing for over 2,000 yards and making highlight videos, Tennessee was 8-8 and not in the playoffs. That's my point. RBs are overvalued. They don't win games by themselves like they used to in the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
  9. As I've said before, I don't know who the right pick would be because I'm not a draft guru. But I do know that taking a RB when your team has this many holes is the wrong pick. Especially when you already have not one but TWO 1,000 yard rushers on the roster. Throw in the fact that RBs are overvalued in the NFL (you can find RBs anywhere who can put up enough yards to win), tying up more cap space on this overvalued position is insane and, in my opinion, makes me very suspect that Nix is not the savior we all hoped. But instead more of the same. If they didn't think there was anyone worth taking at 9 then they should have traded back for MORE picks and picked up any of the other players who could help. Are you telling me that there are going to be ZERO probowl players to come out of this draft picked after #8 who play either OT, DL, WR, or LB? None? Because if you are, and can prove it, then I'm fine with the Spiller pick. But since that is insane, I'm not. Spiller was a flashy pick. That's all. You don't need a superstar RB to win in the modern NFL. That's why this is an awful, awful pick, no matter how good he becomes.
  10. I have no doubt he'll make some highlight video plays in his career. And I'll love every one of them. But you can't convince me that he was the right pick at 9. Put it another way. If, before the draft, you were told that we could have Chris Johnson (who everyone wants to compair spiller to) for our first round pick, knowing that Marshawn and Jackson would not be moved for picks during the draft, how many people would have been on board with that? Not many. And he's proven what he can do on the field already.
  11. Don't be sorry. Making people laugh is what I do for a living. As for your post, my height has nothing to do with it. And your claim that he hasn't done anything for Buffalo is retarded especially when you yourself admit in your next post he HAS won games for Buffalo. So, to recap, you're wrong about Evans doing nothing for Buffalo in his career. Thanks for playing.
  12. Calling these, or any draft grades "facts" is borderline retarded. I'm still furious over the Spiller pick but even I won't say that the other players picked will or will not work out. No one knows, not even the Bills, until they put on the pads during an NFL game. No one knows anything about how good or bad this draft is. Except for Denver fans. Picking Tebow in the first round qualifies as the fukkups of all fukkups in this draft.
  13. Every WR has a dropped pass or two. They're human, not robots. It's also tough to catch every ball when your QB is throwing from his ass every other play or your QB refuses to read the defenses properly.
  14. I didn't say that. But the average NFL player is way faster than the defenders on Boston College, Georgia Tech and UVA.
  15. Is it really a shock to think that Marshawn and Jackson are going into the season as the number 1 and 2 backs? Both are 1,000 yard rushers and Jackson was the best player on the team in '09 by a mile. Spiller is not going to start. He's not even an every down back. He'll play 60% of the offensive snaps. Maybe less.
  16. He has single handedly won games for the Bills against the Jets and Fins on more than one occasion. Thanks for playing though.
  17. Yup. Just like the rest of the NFL.
  18. Agree to disagree. I watch RB blocking very closely as I used to coach it.
  19. From your lips to God's ears ... I have a horrible image of them finishing 6-10 or 8-8 and standing pat with the 15th pick while the top 4 arms go in the top 10.
  20. This not entirely true. There were some blown assignments yes, but by in large, both Marshawn and Jackson are excellent pass blockers. Jackson is better (for now) because Marshawn spent much of his college career going out for passes rather than blocking. But both made some tremendous blocks. That said, I agree with the rest of your post. I'm a big believer that the Bills won't win till they get a franchise QB and I also don't think Edwards is the answer (jury's still out on Brohm). Fitz is downright awful. Brown? Color me unimpressed. Still, I don't think they should reach for any QB in the draft which is why I was fine with them passing up Clausen, Colt, Tebow and the rest. If they didn't believe there was a Franchise type QB in this draft, then by all means give Brohm and Edwards a chance to play and see what develops. But if next year's QB class is as deep as people are predicting, they will have to make a move to secure one. Even if that means giving up high picks in multiple drafts to do so.
  21. Nix is NOT Parcells. This draft proved that much.
  22. The Bills won't win a superbowl until a franchise QB is on the roster. They haven't had one since Kelly (Drew was close but over the hill by the time he got here) and I don't believe they have one on their roster now. Doesn't mean Brown or Brohm won't surprise us all and become that player -- but the likelyhood of that happening is slim in my opinion. Next year's QB class is deep. The Bills have to get their guy then. Even if it means trading up and forfeiting picks to do so.
