  1. The impact to bringing in any player, especially a high profile personality like AB, is always more complex than just the money. Beane, is responsible for the roster and he has to look beyond the dollars part of it and into the culture. McDermott talks culture all day. It is unfathomable that Beane would bring in a player without consideration to the full impact so I contend he dodged a bullet. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. In response to your last sentence, if only this were true. There is a long history that shows many of these young men are not ready to be true professionals. Unfortunately many of these guys coming out of college are not well adjusted “men” and need help adjusting to being a full time professional and managing new found wealth. This is also true for college graduates in any field - accountants, engineers, etc., but on a totally different level as they are not high paid celebrities. AB is a special case. He is a veteran. His antics and his history as a diva go way back. There was lots information in the public domain about his character. It is Beane ‘s job to look at EVERYTHING.
  2. Wrong. The was Zero financial harm maybe but AB could have inflicted plenty of harm to the culture the Bills are trying to build. Bills culture is “Small town atmosphere”, “family and team first”, “always be prepared to do your 1/11th”, “help others and be ready - next man up”, “follow the process”. Beane is doing a fine job but he is not perfect. Just look at least year with Peterman starting and the OL/WR situation. Allen could have been damaged with the cast he had to play with. We we are lucky that AB is too vain to play for a small market team like Buffalo. He simply is not the kind of person we need on this team. If he was a Bill, and playing well, and then all these allegations started to come out it would indeed be a major distraction. No doubt Beane dodged a bullet. I don’t mind him kicking the tires on players but some, like AB, are just not worth the trouble.
  3. 6X SB. New England is much more than Boston proper. It is a regional franchise. They have the entire state of Mass, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, And half of Connecticut (other half is Giants). Plus the fans that root for perennial winners. I travel to those states often and the fans are spoiled. It hard to have a conversation about sports with the locals unless you want to pay homage to their teams.
  4. Nike dumped him. Those legal fees will be adding up fast.
  5. Is there a bigger opportunist than Drew Rosenhaus? Maybe he can convince AB that Buffalo has a great QB and is on the rise. LOL. Man did we dodge a bullet.
  6. True. So here comes a collusion case?
  7. No, but he will need to pay his lawyers for the pending law suits from the women he (allegedly) abused.
  8. Ya think so? AB about to have his own “me too”.
  9. What the National media says and thinks is not important. Winning games is. I have never heard New England apologize for their schedule. IF the Bills can beat the Bengals on Sunday we will be 3-0 and their opponents could potentially be a combined 0-9. We play the schedule we are given. Tough games are coming. What the media says does not change the standings.
  10. Greenie is not watchable and neither is ESPN most of the time. Mike and Mike became unlistenable to me because of the amount of time he spent talking those terrible Jets teams. Here he spends no time talking about the Browns. Who really wants to hear his adolescent and mindless bleating? He throws in the towel after 2 games. What a bum.
  11. No. The 12th man is special. We were called that by the greatest teams we ever had. Coming to Rich Stadium to play the Bills and the 12th man was once a daunting task.
  12. To win the division we most likely need to sweep our division including beating the Pats* twice. That means we have to consistently improve week to week, and avoid injuries. Not impossible.
  13. I do not see a player like Ramsey fitting into the culture in Buffalo. Great talent no doubt, but I would keep the draft pick and draft my own CB next year.
  14. Since they mean nothing, Power Rankings are for fun I guess.
  15. I am not surprised by Feliciano. He is playing like he played in Oakland when given the chance. He plays with a mean streak. I am pleasantly surprised by Josh Allen's growth - his patience and improved accuracy thus far. He has worked hard and it is showing.
  16. This line is a year or two away from being a beast. Depends on Dawkins more than Cody. If Dawkins is a strong LT then leave him, otherwise switch him to RT and draft to find a LT. Nseehke is your gameday backup swing tackle. Cody then has to beat out Feliciano to get the RG spot. Feliciano becomes a valuable gameday C/G back up. Spain and Morse are set for now. If Dawkins is solid at LT then you draft looking for a RT.
  17. No doubt much better than last years crew. Last year was an abomination. Hence, Beane bringing in a bevy of experienced linemen to compete. When adjusting for the time period, the Electric Company in their peak was much better than our line is right now. Today’s line will get better with time and a few adjustments.
  18. Beane dodged a bullet here. So glad he is not on our team.
  19. … and even more importantly, a clean hit that did not draw a flag.
  20. Fair enough. I’m always looking for impact players or BPA in the first round. Darn auto correct. I meant fairly early but somehow typed very early. I could see an OT by round 3.
  21. These guys are better than last year already, and they will get better as the season goes on. That said, they are not even close to the Electric Company. Maybe one position out of the five is at that level yet.
  22. I must admit I sure loved seeing Cody jump to his QBs aide but in a close game against a quality opponent those penalties can hurt. Best for Cody to get that play out if the way in this game. Next time, stay cool and pound your opponent on the next play. The refs did not protect our QB which was the worst part if the play.
  23. While I did not like the play of the offense in the 3Q, or even the strategy at the end of 2Q, I don’t think they were overconfident. Lacking in consistent execution is more like it. The team is young in critical positions, there are lots off new players and coaches. They are improving but they are not a juggernaut. Yet. They are an up and coming team. I expect to see sustained improvement as the season progresses. Really enjoying 2-0 with the home opener coming.
  24. All the games are hard. This is the NFL.
