Really? Compare his record to any QB since Kelley. -

Just keep on posting then. Sorry, couldn’t resist an opening like that. To me I see more good than bad. He leads, he wins. Give the kid a few play makers, some better tackles, and some more experience. -
I’ve been watching them since 64-65. Long time. I finally reached the point where I am not raving mad over a game like this. The Eagles are better. Their coaching staff won an super Bowl. The Eagles came out angry and straightened out their ship. It happens. We are 5-2 and fortunate to have played some patsies. I just want to take advantage of an easy schedule, watch the young guys develop and hopefully gain some playoff experience. My expectations are no higher for this season. Super Bowl, no division, no home playoff game, not yet. Just win 10 and get in. We have holes all over this roster. We still need help at OT, WR, DL, and a legit 2CB. We are also thin at RB and LB, Lorenzo and Gore will be retiring. Another draft and a few FA pickups will get us closer, all assuming that Allen continues developing. Relax everyone.

Is Tremaine Edmunds the answer at MLB?

Yes right, most 20 year olds just jump right in and make the Pro Bowl at MLB. -
Is Tremaine Edmunds the answer at MLB?
Bob in STL replied to KOKO NFL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like most MLBs Edmunds needs our DTs to absorb blockers to allow him to get to the runner. He he is going to get stronger and better with age and experience. We lost, they ran on us, we ran into an angry team that is better than us. Now is not the time to quit and assign blame. Now is the time to learn and get better. -

We were due for this. The better talented team won today. As stated, we have been fortunate with our schedule. We will see what the staff and players are made of. They need to rebound. We are about were I expected us to be. 5-2 is a good situation fir Buffalo. My concerns are: 1. Daboll play calling and Allen not getting passing yards against a very poor backfield. 2. Inability to adapt to weather and wind at home. Very unBills-like. They need to make this an advantage. 3. Defense against the run 4. Poor special teams. Need to move on and get a W next week. -
They have great uni’s with the Blue shirt, white pants. Time to stop this weird stuff ... and get off my lawn.

First Time I have been concerned with Josh Allen
Bob in STL replied to PlayoffsPlease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Allen. I think he is a natural leader. He did not play for great coaches in a great college program and he was not a classic “Franchise QB” right of out college. Still he looks to be improving steadily and he has the tools. He did not get the ideal NFL grooming, or get to play with an experienced and talented offense, or even get to work with a proven NFL OC. Yet he makes the best of every situation and he is accountable for what he does. Best of all he can handle pressure and he has a winning record. Seems s like a great young man that fits into Buffalo. I’m pulling for him. -

My point is if we cant block cover zero, then audible to do so. It sure does not look like our 5 can block 7 or 8, so get out of the situation. It is not just one person to blame for the continued failures, but if there is then i choose Daboll, his job is to help the guy with 17 starts under his belt. . -

well it is more complex than just a "Josh Allen failure". Is there a hot receiver going to a predetermined spot (hot read)? Is there an audible to get out of the empty backfield, put the RB on the side of the blitz so that the RB can at least chip the blitzer and buy Josh a second to connect to the hot receiver? Are there line audibles to shift the blocker to pick up the blitzes? I am not convinced that everyone else is doing the right things either. I am not convince that Daboll has this aspect of the game covered adequately. New England exposed Daboll just as much as they did Josh. Now the TEAM needs to address it. -
Joe B Observations on Bills win over Phins

there are surprises every week in the NFL and Fitz brought a level of play to the Dolphins that they did not have in previous weeks. Hopefully the Bills learned something about preparation for games, ALL games. -
Joe B Observations on Bills win over Phins

I find it hard to believe that in year 3 of the total rebuild the local sportswriters and a large portion of the fans are now compelled to complain about “ugly wins”. Booing the team at halftime? Seems a bit New Englandy or New Yorkish. We are 5-1 and Jason Wolf of the Buffalo News writes an article on Ugly wins. Who is he? Wins are wins in the NFL. This team is still a work in progress. Miami played hard, credit the opponent. Expecting to beat teams by 3TDs is not realistic, we are not a juggernaut, we are not an experienced playoff team. We are an upstart team on the rise. Lets enjoy it.- 63 replies

Postgame: Dolphins 21 at Bills 31
Bob in STL replied to Do The Reich Thing's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My summary - they did not play well, maybe a lull from the bye, maybe they looked past Miami, maybe a poor game plan too. They won. Bottom line is that. Tre White made a big play when most needed. Allen played ok despite several drops and missed blitz pick ups by the OL. Allen could use more help. When it mattered the kid came thru with big drives in the second half. Daboll does a poor job of helping Allen as it looked like we could have run Gore/Singletary more, the empty backfield formations put even more pressure on Allen. So one needs to answer for the poor blitz pickups, the dumb penalties, and the inconsistency. The offense needs sharper execution. Defense - rough day for Edmunds, especially in first half. Sacking Fitz should not have been that hard but yet 3 mistackles on sacks. Special teams - gave up a first down on a fake FG, run by holder/punter. This ST coach needs to start sleeping at One Bills Drive. Hauschka was very good. The Bills proved they are not good enough to worry about point spreads or take any team lightly. This game may be a weird kind of wake up call to a 5-1 team that is improving. -
Another bad call
