Jerry Sullivan on our podcast: Anecdote about McDermott
Bob in STL replied to gomper's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like McDermott. I think he has a hard job and he does it well. Not perfect but improving in many ways. I think he can get better and improve the team. I could not care less what the media thinks about him. He just needs to be decent and moral and win. Jerry on the other hand, well I do not think his job is nearly as hard, and it’s not even important. Jerry is not important and I do not value his opinion, so I don’t read his stuff or listen to him. My respect for the media is at an all time low. They are entertainment, they are not some special service of educated insiders looking out for our interests. No matter if it’s sports, world news, politics, even some local news, its pretty much a business - with sponsors - all bought and paid for. -
Roll Call. Buffalo vs Dallas there in Arlington
Bob in STL replied to CowgirlsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am going with wife and some kin. Gonna win in Jeruh’s house. -
Buffalo is not the only city in the NFL that gets cold weather or snow, there are lots that do. But it gets the most publicity for it. I do gt tired of hearing about snow, or blue collar, or nothing to do in Buffalo - there is tons to do but Buffalo will it will never have the night club scene of Miami, NY, Chicago, LA, Atlanta, etc. So find the players that put less value on partying and more on other ways to spend time. I like what McD and Beane are building.

Can the Detractors Now Admit Allen's Growth?
Bob in STL replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen showed great strides today. The Cleveland game was very disappointing. Maybe Daboll in the box helps? Maybe Miami being a very poor team helps too? Keep on progressing Josh!! -
Anyone else think Bills will dominate on Sunday?
Bob in STL replied to ShakAttack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just hope McD’s “play with no fear” comments resonate with 5he players and the coaches. Play, coach, and game plan “with no fear”. Give the dam ball to Singletary, block and run hard, pass downfield without fear, play run defense, kill their QB, take the ball away from them, oh and do something good on special team too. -
Is there a role for Tyler Kroft on the Bills?
Bob in STL replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kroft is decent when healthy, however, I think Knox is already better and had a much higher ceiling. Right now I would be dressing Knox, Kroft and Sweeney. Seen enough of Lee Smith, when we need a “big blocking set” put out Sweeney or another tackle or both. Next year I bring in another TE and move on from Kroft. Knox’s development and Kroft’s injuries make him way overpaid for his contribution. -
True considering some of the backups are of very marginal NFL talent. Not true if if you want to avoid distractions, which every team in the league has the right to do. I have no no issue with any team signing him, except for Buffalo. I don’t think he would fit in. We are invested in Allen and Barkley is a decent backup. Now if Peterman were still around I would want to look at Kaepernick.

This is a game I should worry about. Dolphins playing inspired football and would love to win a division game. The game in Miami. Normally this would be major choke game number 1. So it probably won’t be. McD is telling them to put petal on metal so maybe this week the offense plays great and we win 31-13 like we should.

I would give Rudolf 1 game for his role. Pouncey gets 2. Chickengumbo gets 3. Garrett is out for one year - see you in week 10 of 2020. What I would like to see: None of these player get paid while out and the owners send their salaries to a foundation supporting victims of violence. In addition the owners play the same amounts for their team penalty.

I collect everyone’s coins and offer to buy beer with them.

Kaepernick's Agents Announce Tryout (edited title)
Bob in STL replied to ngbills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The media frenzy surrounding any team that signed him would be unbelievable. I just can’t see it. -
100% problem with the Deep Ball this year.
Bob in STL replied to Allen2Moulds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I stopped reading right after the bold sentence. Should their coaches quit on Elway, Manning, Kelly, Farve, after 9 games? None of them looked very good at that point. -
The same old names - Star, Wallace & Lee Smith
Bob in STL replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
8 carries for Singletary... I would have a talk with DaBollski about that. -
Last Offensive All-Pro from the Bills 1991
Bob in STL replied to BITE ME's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really hard to believe. We traded an All Pro left tackle. Drafted countless running backs, none of which were star players. We haven’t had a good TE since Metzellars. Lee Evans and Freddy Jackson are probably the best we’ve had on offense in that span. Since Polian and Butler left we have been terrible -
Hauschka is at 61.5% for the season

No Kevin. I did not say he was hurt. -
When can we start to admit that the process failed?
Bob in STL replied to ShipUPride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The process is forever, it is not a 2 or 3 year thing. Think New England, they have had winning processes (i.e culture) in place since Parcells got there. Bellicheck continued them, and perfected them. I think the Bills are improving and the entire organization is gaining respect. Sure, they have had an easy schedule so far but no teams control that. They have a decent shot to make the playoffs, losing today hurts but there will be opportunities to recover. Allen is the key. If he fails short you draft another QB, an another, until you find one. But you keep the talent base up so that whoever comes in is not starting with the mess that Allen had last season. No more rebuilds, now we can enhance and coach up. We need playmakers, especially on offense. The draft and free agency will provide more opportunities to add them. The cap is well managed. The players we have actually want to be here. This year the talent is much better than last year and they will get even better.
