  1. The “experts” in the media had Darnold and Mayfield rated top two, Rosen and Allen as next two. Allen being the likely 4th place guy due to to his lesser pedigree. Lamar was “the other guy” who could get drafted in the first round- a consolation to teams that did not have a prime pick. Looking at the draft order, most scouts and GMs agreed with the media projection.. Today Lamar, the last in the class, is the toast of the draft, a superstar in year 2. Allen still gets a lot of negative press, despite his accomplishments in the W-L column. Mayfield and Darnold - well the media expert still hope to see them develop since the have pitched them so hard. Rosen is lost in Miami.
  2. Curious comments. Buffalo never grew on the scale of Chicago. Economically what happened to Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit - I assume you mean the end of factory/heavy industrial production jobs - also happened in Chicago ... they just have more a diverse economy to pick up the slack. I think Buffalo is in a rebirth phase.
  3. To make the OP feel better- I lived in Buffalo. I lived in Baltimore. Baltimore has more problems by far. It’s politics are killing it from inside out. There are nice parts to both but I honestly think Buffalo is nicer, cleaner, safer, more fun, and is on an upswing. Right now Buffalo just has a better vibe. Baltimore is rotting. Sorry to say. And there is no comparison between the Md and NY in beauty. New York State is lovely. MD has no Great Lakes, no Finger Lakes, nothing to compare to NY wine country, no Adirondacks, no Catskills,. MD is plane Jane. Sailing on Chesapeake Bay and eating crabs are ok though. Buffalo is cold in the winter so you ski, sled, skate. Baltimore is cold in the winter and yet has little winter sports because too little snow and no mountains, mostly flat terrain. Baltimore is very hot and humid in the summer. Lots of little rivers and inlets from the bay add to humidity. Buffalo was fabulous weather in the summer. Cool breezes off of the massive Lakes.
  4. 50-% at home and on a good roll …
  5. Don't like the red on red. Home team in winter, wear the classic Blue jersey with white pants fercrisakes
  6. No. The Watkins apologists can't blame Tyrod for his seasons with the Rams and Chiefs. Yes, he is good but he is injured too much. We need a WR that is better than good. Lets draft our own guy and "trust the process".
  7. Good guy. I wish him the best.
  8. While WR is a big need there is no need to force it in round 1. We also need OT and Edge.
  9. We could not stop the run. We fell behind. We got beat up.
  10. Jacksonville should not have an NFL franchise.
  11. This post is chock full of ridiculous statements. You play the schedule your given. You always play to win. Case closed.
  12. Classic. You really are Wayne Arnold.
  13. I never notice their celebrations to be worse than any others. I was sick of the excessive celebrations 25 years ago. Now it’s so common no one really cares
  14. Individual stat are not the most thing in the defense we play.
  15. Let’s just try to beat Baltimore before we get to carried away with winning the division.
  16. It is expected that you work in the off season with your QB. Nothing groundbreaking about it. I mean like not complaining about how many targets you get in a game, then dropping the ones you do get. If we draft a WR in the first round I want him to be better than Sam Watkins. Bigger, stronger, more durable, more reliable and someone who fits in.
  17. No, not at all like Sammy. Like someone that can stay on the field healthy, be a team player and not worry about his personal stats. Someone with the concentration needed to make big plays when the opportunities are there.
  18. I still wonder why Beane thought AB could fit it? We we need a big play WR but I prefer we draft the right one.
  19. Great point about liking one player does not mean you have to not like another. A real football fan knows this. He is correct. 1983 draft first round - Elway, Marino, Kelly were all great HoF. Blackledge, O’Brien and Eason were all average or below. I don’t recall the media hating the other three. They had years to play and prove themselves without ridicule. Today the expectations on QBs are unrealistic. The media coverage is over the top. The media has lowered their standards to the same thing that fans tweet about or spout out on forums. They should be better than that.
  20. I was there in a Dallas at the game with 12 family members. Great game. Bills Mafia was loud and proud. I did not see too many over the top fans, just a great atmosphere and a well earned win. This team is really starting to gel. For the McDermott haters, several Cowboys fans in my section told me that McDermott is impressive and they wish they can lure him away from us.
  21. Amazing on how this topic, and peoples take on it, mirrors the cultural and political divide of today. One thing that I have learned over the years is that perception is reality. No kidding.
  22. It Is quite interesting reading the comments. Everything from not a problem/funny to immature/selfish. When I played any player that allowed himself to get this distracted during a game would have gotten in trouble with the coach. Especially the starting QB. Different times.
  23. Beane did a good job on the OL so far. One of the biggest issues for the Offense to overcome was the lack of time together, especially the OL with only 1 of 5 starters returning. The entire offense has 9 new players in the starting 11. Not over spending is great. Now I think they need to draft more good players and WR, OT, and RB positions all need more help next year.
  24. My wife and I will be going to Dallas to spend Thanksgiving with my sister and her family. We have tickets for the game. Friday will be our family Thanksgiving dinner. This will be fun. I would love to see them win. They are playing better the past few weeks, yes the competition has not been strong but the progress the Bills have made is undeniable. McD must get them ready. Play fearless and smart. Don’t let the bright lights distract. A win against Dallas will provide the Bills with credibility and confidence. I think they can do it.
