  1. The New England song- Your Cheating Heart
  2. Never like that song, even when it came out. Calling for your Momma while in fear hardly sounds inspiring.
  3. How many times do we have to view a silly and irrelevant gif in a posting?
  4. What is all the Russ Salvatore stuff? I was unaware that he said anything against the Bills Organization. This is a shocker. For those how don't know him he is a famous Restaurant and Hotel owner. He owns Russell's on Transit and formerly owed Salvatore's Italian Garden's on Transit. I have met him several times, used to deal with him a lot back in the 70's. Never had problem with him in business or socially. He has always been a generous and kind from what I can tell. He has also been a staunch supporter of anything Buffalo and a philanthropist as well. Oh, and he is too old to be a "Boomer" for those of you that think that matters.
  5. Why not? Do you think it’s easy to walk into the NFL with no experience and no connections and compete with other ego driven sharks? Marone burned them. They listened to Brandon and got burned (Rex Ryan) again. They figured out Brandon and Whaley and got rid of the whole lot of them. They finally got some sound advice from somewhere, which led to hiring McDermott and Beane. Who would you have hired? Why not give them credit for hiring two very bright people to run the team? Why do they not deserve credit? They are intelligent and classy people. Why not recognize their effort and commitment?
  6. C+ against a killer defense, increased to a B due to his leadership and ability to win. This was a high pressure game and he made enough plays. His supporting cast held him back at times.
  7. Ok, to be honest. Duck won three NFL games in a row before playing our defense. We won because we were better.
  8. I thought his constant harping on Steelers injuries was over the top and he could have talked more about the Bills. He threw out a few accolades to the Bills rebuild but mostly questioned Allen’s play and our receiver corps. Not that he was wrong, but it got old. Michaels had nothing good to say about us and is clearly disappointed to see us move into higher echelons of the NFL. He was the more disappointing of the two. The country picked Bills, none of the panel of experts did though. Typical for our team.
  9. Yes indeed. I was in Buffalo for the Pats* game. There were several Pats* fans in our section and one right next to me with his wife. We talked. They won as usual. After the game he said it was nice to sit next to a nice Bills fan. They are not all bad but many of them are.
  10. I travel a lot. Been to NFL games in 12 stadiums. I have been traveling to New England for business monthly for the past 8 years. They. are absolutely the rudest, most entitled, and most obnoxious fans in the country. Every fan base has some bad apples, but New England’s are the worst I have ever seen. You can’t even say something good about another team in hotel bar without some obnoxious jerk making comments. .
  11. I hope the Bills learned to start fast and not be in awe of anybody. They could have beaten the Ravens if they made just a few more plays. This is is a very big game for our program. I do not want to stumble into the playoffs by beating the Jets at home. I want to beat Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh.
  12. The drops have reached a point of concern but if you look at how little he saw the ball in college it should not surprise. Work, work, and more work is what Knox needs. He has size and he had some speed too. He blocks well and he gets open. Yesterday he dropped a ball and then he made a brilliant one handed catch. He can be a beast running in the open field and he has blown up a few DBs this year. I like him and I say keep on developing him. I’m not impressed with Kroft or Smith. Sweeney has done ok in his limited reps. I would not hesitate to take a TE if the right one is there.
  13. Agree. Another poster said it was a bad route and that 8 of 10 times he runs a better route and we get a TD. It looks like the corner had great coverage, got inside and made the play. I wish the solution was as simple as play Duke Williams. The offense needs playmakers. A star WR is a priority.
  14. Why did he run a bad route? Fourth down and game on the line, why would he not do his best? This cannot happen.
  15. I understand the math and the risk assessment in detail and I can say it with confidence. I looked at your reference. Still comes down to a judgement call. The key to assessment of the risk is to predict the likelihood of getting the ball back, with adequate time, two times if the conversation fails. We do risk assessment all the time in my work. I am considered by my peers to be a subject matter expert on risk assessment for product development program. There is not an exact science here. Even with your referenced document as guidance. I conceded (multiple times) it was worth the gamble. Since McD succeeded he would have been faced with another big decision if we scored. That is, play for the tie or go for two again.
  16. Look, I understand the call, the math, and the logic. I did not think they were going to get two more possessions if that 2 pointer failed. Seven minutes is borderline against Baltimore. I say that because the odds of recovering an onside kick are minuscule in today’s NFL. Also, Baltimore has a fine offense and strong run game. In addition our two minute offense has not shown good clock management. Its great we got the 2. It was a gamble worth taking. Percentage wise it was the riskier option but we had the right play and we executed. Great. Ok. Out now.
  17. Disagree. That’s fine. It’s was ok because it worked. Of course they did not get that extra possession did they? Even with 50+ yards of penalties in their favor on their last possession they did not score Down by 9 with 7 minutes left and you think they were going to stop Baltimore, score another TD, recover an insides kick or somehow get the ball back again, and then score a FG? Not likely. McD choose the risky path, it worked. Good for him. I would have done the same but I would also admit it was extremely high risk if you miss that 2pointer.
  18. Pretty negative post. The offense was not very good true, but we did move the ball and we had four chances from the red zone to win or tie. Baltimore bullied us a bit but we ran on them. Dropped passes and bad pass blocking hurt us as much as anything Baltimore did. Hopefully the Bills learned something today because they basically just played a playoff game and they have 3 more before the season ends.
  19. Technically it was the wrong call. If you miss it you are 9 behind - so another TD plus 2 points doesn’t get you a tie and requires yet a third possession which there was not enough time for. If you make it, which they did, you can tie with a TD and PAT, or win the a TD and another 2 pointer. Since they made it all is forgiven. Had they missed it there would have been a bigger debate. The explanation can can only be momentum, which seems odd since they were pushed backwards from the two yard line and took 4 downs to score.
  20. Shut down? Hardly. The offense clearly got run over by a mean and nasty defense. Overall I think the Bills gave it a good game, they had a bad first half and still they had a chance to take the game in the end but came up short. This game highlighted the need for a better LT (move Dawkins to RT) and a true stud WR.
  21. This will be the first time watching the great and powerful Lamar for a full game. I’ve seen the highlights, he is impressive. I think we can win if course. This is a big game indeed. No prediction, hoping the Bills fans make a difference today. The nation is watching so maybe we have a breakout game. .
