Football fans across the country see and understand the strides the Bills are making. Right now they look like the top team in the AFCE, possibly a playoff home game win, and that could be their ceiling for the season. That would be a good step. Like the progression most teams have to make before they are ready to win it all. National Spotlights and big media are for those who crave attention.

ROCKPILE REVIEW - Just Another Patriots Game
Bob in STL replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really? Nothing about the addition of Diggs? Allen’s improved play? -
Ok This Dolphins talk is getting out of hand.
Bob in STL replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The guy has an opinion and cherry picked the stats he needed to back it up. Miami is improving for sure. The Bills are having their best season so far under the McBeane regime. Let’s settle it on the football field. -
Most wins against teams with a winning record
Bob in STL replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes indeed. McDermott is very well respected around the league. I’m so glad we have him and Beane. I would run the team using the Pittsburgh model and keep them a long time because they will win. Just a matter of time on that. -
I douBt we see Morse. Lot of people liking Bates but Boettger graded highest on our OL last week. If Ford is ready how about he replaces Winter and Boettger stays at LG. Let’s keep building continuity.

Most wins against teams with a winning record
Bob in STL replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love to see stats prove these downer fans wrong. Every game is hard. Every win is important. There are a handful of plays every game that separate winning from losing. Yesterday our guy, Zimmer, made the last big play of the game. We win. How many times did we lose to the the Pats* because they made more big plays in close games? The complaints about this team and McDermott are irrational. Especially when you consider how long we waited for a winning team. McDermott says you have to earn the right to win. He is correct. When you do you should not apologize for it.- 53 replies

Who should we hire after Pegula fires McDermott and Beane walks?

Beane's construction of this roster
Bob in STL replied to All I Need is Hope's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually I said the free agent pickups improved us without hurting the cap. This past season not so much. I agree the front 7 is not good enough. Star out, Lorenzo not adequately replaced, Phillips struggling after the ACL, Edmunds and Milano playing hurt. He missed on the LB depth. -

Ok. Fair. You can be skeptical. He is not perfect. -

nothing impressive- like ending a 17 year playoff drought with 2 playoffs in 3 years while in the middle of a rebuild. Like helping to changethe way the team is perceived by veteran players. Like having us sitting at 6-2 with strong chance of winning a division title for the first time in 20 years. That is impressive and the best is yet to come. -

Can they play a few more years, and actually have a career, before you make that conclusion. -

Beane is doing great. Some of his picks, like Ford and Edmunds and even Allen, are still developing. Are you really going to criticize 4 th and 5th round picks (Knox and Joseph)? He has consistently upgraded the talent with free agents while not overpaying. None of the players you mention put us in cap trouble and all of them have contributed. He has not been perfect but he has built an exciting team, a competitive team, and a culture of winning. Players want to play here. Do you want to bring back Whaley, Nix, Brandon, Levy, Modrak and Donahoe? I sure don’t. -
Postgame Thread Bills vs. Patriots
Bob in STL replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you. This could be the best post in the thread. we never trailed. We played a proud and desperate team. Our defense found a way to make that one big play needed to seal the game. We are not Juggernaut but we are clearly a team on the rise. We look like the best team in the AFC east and probably 5 or 6 overall in the very, very tough AFC. Let’s keep it going. I’ve been following these guys since ‘63-64. I not going to ever apologize for a win. -
Postgame Thread Bills vs. Patriots
Bob in STL replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who cares. I guess it means we are not elite. Ok. Of course we are not. Win a division, win a playoff game first. Make progress. We are a team on the rise. We have a few holes to fill but definitely on the rise. Enjoy it. -
Josh Allen - week EIGHT report card
Bob in STL replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Solid B. Diggs seemed to take the hit on the INT. Solid throwing numbers by Josh in bad weather. Running TD, should have had a throwing TD too. LEADERSHIP. -
Week 8 Pats** At Bills - Predict the score
Bob in STL replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills - 27 Pats* - 13 The game is not as close as the score. The beginning of the end of the Pats*. Belly is sub .500 without Tommy Boy. -
Jerry Hughes named AFC Defensive Player of the Week
Bob in STL replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From what I saw mostly on Becton in the first half, he seemed to move around more in the second half. -
Feliciano is the RG, replaced by Winters due to injury. Williams has looked good and Cody Ford could not win the RT job from him. Ford looks better at G and he pushed out Spain. Then Ford got hurt and is replaced by Boettger because Spain essentially quit, so he was released. Winters at RG is mediocre and Boettger (3rd on depth chart at start of season ) is not showing he is a starter. The problems come from the guard position.

It is so rare that a good team, and I consider the Bills to be a good team, can improve themselves in a week 8 trade. Sure it happens occasionally when bottom feeders start selling off good players. Seems even harder to do on the offensive side of the ball because of the time to learn the playbook and get the timing down. The OL will improve when Feliciano and Ford come back.

I have no idea who will win. Buffalo looks to have the better team. I have a hard time seeing the Pats* lose 4 straight but games are not played on paper and a last second come from behind win is still a win. Brady and the Pats* have lots of them.

Matt Milano is more important to keep than edmunds
Bob in STL replied to Sharky7337's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he is playing injured too. His tackling is tentative at times. All MLBs need strong DTs play to be be able to read and react. Are our DTs forcing the opposing centers to help theIr guards out, leaving Edmunds clear to get to the ball? No. They are not. Sure, Edmunds gets sealed off sometimes by wrong reads, but he gets sealed off more because our DTs don’t penetrate enough. When you see them blown 2 or 3 yards off the LOS it’s hard to blame Edmunds in my opinion. Edmunds has just reached normal Rookie age. Trade him and regret it down the road. -
I think this whole concept of signature win is a bit silly. If they beat NE on Sunday it’s a signature win unless of course NE finishes the season at 7-9 then it’s not. Is that the way it works? People said the Dallas game was a signature win on Thanksgiving in front of all of America. A month later they say no, Dallas was overrated. You play in the moment. Every game means something with division and conference games meaning even more. The Bills stunk for 17 years and were completely irrelevant. McD comes along and gets us in the playoffs and we are lucky because Cincinnati had to win that game. So if Cincinnati played at 1:00 and we played at 4:00 we would have earned it more? Some Bills fans cannot be happy. We have had four, maybe five, legitimate NFL Head Coaches in the entire history of the franchise and McDermott is one of them.
