  1. Not so fast. Thurman’s pass receiving and receiving yards were stellar on. Better than our RBs by miles. Reed and Lofton had HOF careers. Bebee was a good player too as was Tasker. McKelker/Metzellars was more potent than what we have. The game is different now so you can’t go by numbers. Current Bills will bury the 90’s Bills numbers. Put Kelly and his group in today’s NFL and no telling how much the no huddle would score against today’s defense with today’s rules. You have to judge players by performance versus peers in their era. The current Bills are impressive indeed and the best is yet to come but we don’t know what the future holds. They can get better but I am not saying the are better than the 90’s group yet.
  2. Maybe never elite, but still possible to be a high performer. Consistency is what he needs. Don’t know if he will work hard enough to get there but his flashes show not to give up on him just yet. There is more upside potential.
  3. Agree, Bates blocked his man while running a route and he was at least 5 yards deep in the end zone. That is a pick. He should not be lining up at TE when we have Gilliam. Dabioll getting too cute.
  4. I must express my displeasure about the prevent defense we played on the last Denver drive. We made it very easy fir them to get down the field. This is Drew Lock and we gave him the only thing he can actually do. how about a straight defense with pressure on Lock and we get the ball back? Other than that Alken looking great. Let’s stop the penalties too.
  5. Lee Smith, or 86 ?, is a smart player. Converting from receiver to blocker on the Allen run, he destroyed his man.
  6. Pretty good insurance too. He knows the offense and is reliable and capable.
  7. Oh darn. I thought the question was win the SB. So I voted Yes ! Tears Of Joy. I will cry like a baby. I would not cry for AFC East Division but I’ll be damm happy. Too old and grizzled to cry for that though. I saw the AFL champs back in 64 and 65. I cried like a little kid when they lost to KC the next year but I actually was a little kid then.
  8. I hope we run the table, 13-3. Then run the next table - 16-3 with the Lombardi. Our team is good enough. Our coaches are good enough. Our fans really deserve it.
  9. Yup. Been a fan since a tadpole back in 63. I’ve met Bills fans in so many states, and in many other countries, and from 5 continents so far. It’s always fun too.
  10. I’ve been thinking about Knox and although I am somewhat disappointed in him I have no problem with him getting another year to continue his development. He was little used in college, he was raw which is why he wasn’t drafted sooner. We need to see how the draft board looks but I think BPA at CB, OL, or Front 7 would be more impactful in the first 2 rounds.
  11. Well I agree with the OP the the AFC has the lions shares of the best young QBs and by a good margin. It will be interesting to see how that plays out in the next 5+ years. There was a time from 80’s and early 90’s that the AFC had the best QBs but the NFC had dominant defenses and won more Super Bowls. The game has changed and rules now favor the offense and scoring.
  12. Here it is. https://sports.yahoo.com/video/kinkhabwala-bills-snowball-fight-thanks-200530948.html Bills snow fight going viral
  13. You do realize that you are comparing pick #7 with pick #171? I’m pretty sure the Bills knew Peterman was not a franchise QB when they picked him in the 5th round. You should also note that Peterman was picked by McDermott/Whaley. Allen by Beane.
  14. Three thing's 1. The Bills defense is definitely getting more physical and improving, especially with #49 healthy again and leading the way. 2. The o-line is better and meaner with Feliciano out there. 3. The Bills are stacking the game day roster with Strong ST players.
  15. Some players just take a few years to reach their full potential. Knox was showed flashes but he is very inconsistent. For that reason I would like to see the Bills dress Knox-Smith- Kroft. Instead they have been going Knox-Smith-Gilliam to help the ST. Smith is the blocker, and is basically an OT that can catch. So the decision is should you dress Kroft in case Knox stumbles, or is making our ST a priority the best move? Gilliam played 21 of the 28 ST plays versus Pittsburgh. He played about 75% of the snaps the week prior as well. McD is big on ST right now.
  16. Ahhh the relentless pursuit for equality in the workforce. I am going to retire in the next few months. Seen a lot of changes in my 39+ years of professional life. The pursuit of equality and equity is truly a noble endeavor.
  17. Problem with you summary is that the Jets under Gase, and Miami under Gase, are not equivalent. The Jets are far worse. You can’t make a straight and simple comparison. Im not a Darnold fan and I’m no expert on his ceiling or on developing a QB. Someone that needs a QB will give him a shot and if lands in a better place he just might improve.
  18. I don’t know how you guys know who is going to be better than who when scouts and GMs dedicate their professional life to this and are usually wrong. It would not surprise me if the Jets do a bad job with whoever they draft or that Darnold is actually salvaged by another program.
  19. I would have a hard time letting Williams go. Feliciano can replace Morse at a discount. Milano is the tough one. His coverage skills and playmaking will be hard to replace. Hopefully we can afford to keep him on a team friendly shorter term deal.
  20. I think the OP brings up a good point on the 2 point conversion and I bet that McD will be thinking about it too. I see a lack of QB pressure and passes to big receivers covered by smaller DBs.
  21. It’s called networking and EVERY team does his. All the players, coaches, and scouts are in the college and pro football fraternity in a sense. The good GMs listen the right people more often than the average and poor GMs.
  22. Thanks for the cool data. Milano is better in coverage than most any LB in the league. They are bringing him back slowly because Klein is playing good football too. So far it’s Klein for runs and pass rush, Milano for obvious coverage. Norman getting more reps really helped Levi to play better when he was out there. Norman was quietly good. Taron Johnson’s reps might be a big deal to replace next week. Poyer, Hyde, Edmunds, White playing 100% of the snaps says a lot about their value. I like seeing Eppy getting more reps on D and on ST. Daryl Johnson has made a lot out of his limited reps. He was noticeable last night.
  23. Is this a serious post? Punish his receivers? You play with the team you have. Stars like Josh Allen make average players good, and good players even better. Davis caught a big TD. Knox, despite his problems last night, got wide open at the goal line and drew the pass interface. We got 10 points from those two plays. You can’t throw to Diggs on every down for a lot of reasons.
  24. These guys got it done.
  25. Playing in Denver, Mile High, is always tough. Short week and travel - tough. Just off an emotional win on prime time - tough. Denver team is better than their record - tough. All that said this Bills team wants very badly to win the AFC East so they should be ready to go. I think they can get it done.
