Benny the Butcher “We the Mafia” new fight somg
Bob in STL replied to Sundancer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess I am an “elder statesmen”. I have heard a few versions of the story on how Bills Mafia came to be. I kind of wish it hadn’t become popular but it looks like it is here to stay for awhile. I know no harm is meant by the term. Growing up Italian-American, mafia is a word we just did not use, and a discussion best avoided. There are some great films our there that glorify that lifestyle but the reality of it is brutal, and not at all representative of our people. Being an oldie, I am not offended by many of the things that offend people today. Pop culture comes and goes, and evolves and devolves. Some clever beats and the reuse of “hey,hey- hey, hey” sounds cool. Combining the terms Bills Mafia, with Butcher and rap/hip hop culture, is not a great look for Buffalo but I have no doubt it will be appealing to many as it is modern and resonates with the younger crowd. -
The is one of the best post ever Shaw. You and I know what it felt like to win two AFL titles in a row. This Bills team can win it all. See the bold. I have thought about crushing the Pats* a lot. That is step 1.

At the time it was just another low point in what should have been a bad reflection on him, instead it made us more of a laughing stock. I never cared for him but he got us to 9-7. Looking at him today his quitting is truly a bad reflection on him, and I doubt he ever gets a HC job again ... unless the Jets are interested?

The 2007 Giants played their starters when they didn’t have to because old school Coughlin did not want to give the Pats* an undefeated regular season. The Giants did the right thing and they almost won that game. Good karma came to them as the Wildcard Giants made it to the SB against the 18-0 Pats* and won to ruin their undefeated season.

Not saying our backups are bad so if can can get a lead then maybe we can protect it. I have not seen Barclay engineer a drive for a TD this year. Maybe he has but I don’t remember one. I’m not counting the long run by Motor against Denver.

Yes, I say he was effective. He scored two last minute drives to keep them alive against LV. I call that effective. Not only that but he helps Tua on the sideline. I call that effective.

Yes indeed. Whichever team can execute the basics, force turnovers, and capitalize on them will win. That has been the Dolphins formula with Tua all along. Barclay throwing to Davis, McKenzie and Kroft is not going to scare anybody either.

If we don’t play our starters then Miami can win with Tua. Allen and Diggs will get one quarter, if that. Same with Tre, Milano, Edmunds ...
-
Yes, but the option to play Fitz if they needed a lift is gone. Fitz has been very effective in relief of Tua (see last week versus Raiders).

It means McD is keeping everyone guessing. Add “week to week” + “critical playoff game in 2 weeks” = no Beasley this week. He is likely to play next week for playoffs. I’m thinking Diggs and Allen will play the first quarter. Brown maybe the entire first half. Expect heavy doses of Barclay, Davis and McKenzie - which means not much scoring against Miami’s defense. Expect more 12 packages, throws to TEs and runs. Miami will stack up the run. I expect to see a lot of backups by 3Q. I hate to say it but I think we lose a close game as a desperate Miami does enough to win. Only way we win in this scenario is a lot of Miami turnovers. I want to sweep the AFC East but I don’t think they will risk injuries to key players in this game.

It’s your opinion and there is nothing obvious about it. Stills last big season was 4 years ago and he has not been a starter in two years. Why was Stills not on an NFL roster? If he is that good why was he sitting on waivers since the start of week 12? Here is what is obvious. For 2020 Stills has 11 catches and 1 TD in 11 games. Davis had 22 catches and 4 TDs in 11 games ( now 33 and 6 in 15 games). You are on a crusade against Davis, a rookie WR, and a 4th rounder, who made the team to play in the #4 role. We don’t know if Stills will be signed or if he even fits in in this team. I hope he can help us in some way but I’m not expecting much.
