How much money would Jack Kemp make in the modern day NFL?
Bob in STL replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ehhh, Not quite. The AFL teams brought much more passing and innovation to the game, and that happened in the 60’s. -
Kaiir Elam discussing the last 2 years & his struggles...

A safety is typically a guy that can tackle. Not sure that he can. His zone play is poor, not sure he can read the plays either. I hope he figures it out. -
Way back in about 1964-65. Our parish on the West Side had a fund raising breakfast called All Sports Night. Two Buffalo Bills came to the event and spoke, Al BeMiller and Joe O’Donnell. I was a grade school kid, and they made a very positive impression on me for sure. We watched the Bills Highlight Video and they talked about their careers and the team, the role of sports in their life, a they told a few stories about the AFL Championship Team.

Burnside is in the Town of Tonawanda, Erie County. Not North Tonawanda, which is in Niagara County.

RIP Joe Collier. Great guy and a fantastic career.

Davis has a great opportunity to contribute as a #2 and maybe get to a #1B as the season progresses. Running backs can put up some decent rookie numbers. Van Pran is interesting. He could possibly start as a rookie, or he might back up and hardly play. Coleman and Bishop will play a lot. It is important that Beane hit on these two picks. Carter will play some to learn, and line rotation is important to this defense. A few of the rest could show things on ST.

What's the point of this team's philosophy?
Bob in STL replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen can throw deep, but is his completion percentage on the deep ball really that good? Seems like he overthrows the ball often. Building a balanced attack is the best way to make an offense that is hard to stop. -
Because they get mesmerized with what they read on the internet. Coleman game speed is plenty fast. His size, strength and athletic ability is off the charts. Several scouts had him as the 5th WR in the draft.

NFL playbooks have X, Y, and Z receivers. Who decides on who is #1? Typically the guy with the most targets and/or catches. That, and the media.

Coleman = Benjamin, Davis = Moss - Beane players

Just curious, how many games have you watched that Coleman and Davis played in? Davis is a much different runner and Coleman will surprise you. Feels like a reset year because it is - Diggs, Davis, Morse, Poyer, Hyde, Williams and Floyd are all gone. We are taking a $30M+ cap hit on Diggs so there was no room for free agent help, and little room for trades. You cannot replace all these guys in one draft, especially when you pick 28 out of 32. The vision and plan is to still compete and win games while retooling - so getting younger, and better, and building cap space for the future. -

I hope we draft a WR to take the edge off of things here. -

Ulofoshio is a solid pick a 160. LB depth was needed last year, remember the Chiefs game? -

Benford was a 6th rounder. Milano a 5th. You never know what else he can find. -

It does not say that. It says he liked the Bears offer. He could be building trade capital. -
I question all the questioning of value. Hard to judge value when you don't see a teams scouting reports, grades, etc. Value is a Kiper word. Getting good players is what this is about. Mel Kiper is one of the better media draft gurus but he has never been a scout for an NFL team. He is good for entertainment.

You don’t want Terry Pegula running this. Look at the Sabres and be happy that Beane is here. -
