  1. 35 -0 is a great win. Congrats to the Bills staff and players for putting last week behind them, getting back to work, and pounding a division rival on the road. was it perfect? No. Let get the W’s however we can and peak at the end of the season.
  2. Stop with Wyatt Teller. He is not on the team.
  3. Who is going to play that makes the right side better? Williams had a pro bowl season last year, maybe you ought to give him a few games.
  4. “We”? Are you saying you know you have natural immunity? How do you know this?
  5. Young healthy people in pristine shape have contracted Covid. Age and physical condition does not stop that. Many (not all) of them are asymptomatic or have only minor symptoms, that is true. During this time they can be spreading it, the purpose of the mask is to stop the spreading, to protect others. The longer this cycle goes on, the more opportunities for the virus to mutate into something harder to fight. That is the danger. We are divided partly because of misinformation and poor leadership. People today somehow associate taking a vaccine with giving up their freedom and “their rights”. In my lifetime there has never been less emphasis on the greater good and it says a lot about us as a society and a country today. To those unsure about the vaccine, talk to your doctor. I assume you trust your doctor.? Your doctor will tell you your risks.
  6. Well Sherlock, THAT was NOT the exact same play, it was similar but with a key difference. Yesterday we had our WR split out wide, and when he went in motion he took their CB right into the DE spot where he remained. That is the same guy that blew up the play. In the similar (but not identical) 2004 play we had the End in tight formation and when he went in motion it forced his man to follow him and get out of the way. The 2021 play had a flawed design. On top of that everyone else on the 2021 Bills did a poor job selling the play but the Steelers were ready. Tomlin said he watched all of our preseason games and they took note of Gilliam being used as a FB in short yardage situations multiple times. When he saw Gilliam trot out for the play they figured we would this time fake to him and go to Brieda. We made it easier by bringing the wide man in motion and pulling the CB in. They expected Brieda to get the ball whether it was a pass or a handoff. We can find examples of plays that didn’t work yesterday but worked another time all day long but none of it matters.
  7. In 2001 we had a different QB, different offensive players, different coach, different OC, different GM, different Owner. There is no relevance. We could have run a simple QB sneak just like Bart Starr did behind the block of RG Jerry Kramer. That worked in the famous Ice Bowl versus Dallas. That play is just as relevant.
  8. I doubt we would be singing their praises. More like feeling fortunate to squeak by. How do we win by 2 touchdowns when we didn’t even score 2 touchdowns? You want to go back to the 2 step punt? Bring the old punter back, or bring in someone else that kicks it in two steps. It is not what we have and Haack isn’t going to be retrained by Sunday. That punt would have been blocked on any punter. The Steeler blocked it while standing there.
  9. Good post and good research by the OP. It should be noted that 9 of the 25 runs were Allen. Some were scrambles, some were by design. What the stats don’t show is the OL was completely dominated and that kept Allen unsettled. Instead of simplifying Daboll called big hitter but low percentage plays at critical times. Unfortunately the team was never in a groove to execute them. Reflecting back to being inside Pittsburgh territory and throwing deep on 3rd and 1, but then punting on 4 and 1, to me that shows that Daboll and McD were not even in sync. I am a McD fan but he has to take responsibility for the inconsistencies with the decisions on 4th down when just inside Pitt territory. Opportunities to pick up a yard, or a kick FG, or pin Pittsburgh deep were squandered for plays that didn’t work. Details are important. We have a bunch of players from last year, and new players this year that never played a home game in front of a sell out in Buffalo. Even that detail escaped him as we had many players stuck in traffic and arriving late. I am surprised by it but this team was not completely ready, at least not to the level of their opponent.
  10. This will be a tough game. Miami is well coached and will be prepared. They are tired of losing to a division foe. On the road, hot and humid, and a distracting destination. I expect a better performance from Daboll, Allen and the offense. I think we win but it will be tough.
  11. Agree. We could see Boettger starting next week. He is a stronger pass block than a run blocker. Looking at the personnel at LG-C-RG … they are not terrible players at all, but this is a soft spot in an otherwise very talented offense.
  12. Good post but I have one rebuttal. I cannot defend signing Haack, I haven’t seen enough if him and I don’t know why we decided to change punters. However, the blocking on that play was horrible. The guy who blocked was standing there waiting. He didn’t have to lay out. I hear about Haack’s 3 step approach, and he does look slow back there, but in this case the Steelers saw something in our blocking scheme at halftime and they took advantage of it.
  13. The game was almost decided by this play. We needed two scores plus an onside kick to get the ball back. Odds were extremely low by this play. The problem was we needed 6 and we sent 1 guy into the end zone. They covered the play.
  14. Levi Mitchell snuck in and took Wallace’s jersey again. It’s always a long week after a loss.
  15. A man of your stature and experience should be grilling his Italian Sausage outside the stadium, before the game. The food inside is always bad, it’s stadium food. I agree with most of this except your comment on Pittsburgh DBs. They are big, fast, and physical. They were everywhere, and It seemed like there were 3 DBs near every receiver that was designated. Both Allen and Beasley commented on it. They absolutely knew what we were doing. In addition, your comments on Edmunds are off base. He played a good game as did the entire defense. Tomlin won the coaching battle by a mile, to the point of scouting our preseason games and seeing how we used a FB in short yardage. Their scheme on the blocked punt was brilliant. Pittsburgh had the majority of calls go their way ( both pass interference call to be exact) and they were the more physically dominant team. Our OL was beaten badly and Pittsburgh did not have to blitz. The holding calls were real. Our reliance on an empty backfield set with 4 WRs made us predictable and helped their front 4 to tee off even more. Daboll gets a big 0 for this game.
  16. This is interesting. Coaching. On offense we were too damm fancy and way too impatient. Tomlin showed us why he is one of the best.
  17. I didn’t know this. I was surprised to see him in preseason. I thought we had a good punter. One problem with changing punters is you effect the PK.
  18. It should not be hard to draft a stud OG, but no one wants to spend a 1 or a 2 to get one. Ford is not looking like the answer. Morse is not a power center. Feliciano and Boettger are serviceable but better as backups.
  19. It was 10-6. Our defense was playing great. An attempt to punt and pin them inside the 10 would be conservative but would have a much higher percentage for success than the ill fated backwards pass option. Our man in motion brought the defender into the play to make an easy read and a stop for a loss. I think our back had the option to either run or pass. It was a slow developing stupid play. A single RB and two TE formation might have been a nice look. Could be a sneak, or a dive play to the RB, or a fake run and then throw to a tall TE target. Anything but what we did.
  20. Yes. I agree with this too. I get it, it’s a passing league, but we have to run occasionally and be better. Gadgets plays on 4 and 1 and mid field while clinging to a 4point lead.
  21. I never understood why we needed to change punters. This guy is slow
  22. Agree on the offensive strategy. They seemed to know what we were calling. They seemed to have 3 DBs near every pass. Poor blocking, lack of execution all around.
