  1. 1. Not really a Bills legend. 2. Got into trouble in the community. 3. Didn’t really even like Buffalo. I don’t get it but whatever.
  2. Unexpected Studs 1 Spencer Brown 2. Rousseau 3 Knox Duds: 1. Ford 2 Butler
  3. Very accurate summary of the teams and the game. The Colts will present a much bigger challenge. Josh Allen said “no more roller coaster” so I expect they come out fired up and well prepared for next week.
  4. I want Beane to find a way to sign both.
  5. The Bills really buckled down this past week. Better practices and better execution. When you execute, the play calls become “good”. Colts will be tuff. I’m glad we are home and hope they are ready again next week.
  6. I respect their coaching staff and the mystique. I think we are better. They will help us stay sharp.
  7. He is an end. Not a tackle.
  8. First of all, it isn’t a myth. Look at the last few games. It is what we did to Mahommes. Can we beat a cover 2? Yes. Allen must be patient and take the underneath stuff. Daboll needs to call a better game, not be one dimensional and run the ball more effectively. Stop the stupid drive killing penalties. OL has to give Allen time to find a receiver when the medium and deep stuff is taken away. Cover 2 is nothing new or unbeatable.
  9. I think Bates is slated to backup the center. If he gets hurt at Guard, and Morse gets dinged, then we have no center. Feliciano is the other center back up and he is out.
  10. Ridiculous comment. He is simply pumping up Klein and echoing the “next man up” mantra. Why would Oliver dare to comment on another players contract possibilities? He wouldn’t and he isn’t. It is well known that Klein plays the run very well and he can also be an effective blitzer. He was very good last year when forced to start.
  11. The cover 2 is not the biggest problem if you are patient and willing to throw underneath. Success will depend on how good the Jets DL is, especially the DTs on the inside. If they overmatch our interior OL, and they can execute the blueprint that’s on on film, then they will give us trouble. Allen must stay cool and have the patience to take what’s there.
  12. The problem is the LG Boettger not helping the LT (Dawkins) with the guy in the gap. Very similar mistake was made by LG Feliciano on that fateful QB sneak versus Titans. Dawkins cannot make that block on the DL in the gap when the DL is going towards the middle, he needs LG to chip. Root cause could be any of these - Bad read and bad line calls? Poor talent and line play by OGs? Poor Coaching and preparation?
  13. The point is we don’t know but the Bills coaches and front office staff probably think that they do. If Spencer Brown can’t go, then I prefer they try either Jamal Williams or Ryan Bates at RG over Ford. They are already on the team, they know the playbook and the line calls. If we picked up Ferentz tonight he would not even be ready to play Sunday anyway.
  14. If Ferentz stinks as bad as Ford then we are better off with our own stinky player, at least knows he already knows the playbook.
  15. Lee Smith was the only contributor in bunch. We can really use him inside the 10. He could block like an OT and he could find creases in the end zone. I never understood why people didn’t like him, he had a limited role but he filled it well IMO.
  16. How are you sure of this? Why did the Pats* release him?
  17. Certainly the poor performance against theJags is concerning. Unfortunately, the chances of improving the OL right now is minuscule. Any player we bring in has to learn the offense, so the player has to slow down and think rather than let it flow. If Spencer Brown can play Sunday that puts Ford back on the bench. If not, then maybe we see Ryan Bates or Jamal Douglas. They can’t be worse. Everybody on the line needs to play better and help support whoever is in there. The window was there to trade for another OG but for whatever reason a deal was not made. I suspect Beane tried to make a move but the right deal was not there. The trade deadline is now past. We can pull a player from another teams PS but that player has to dress that week and how long will it take a young player to learn the offense? It is not easy to plug into the OL, it takes weeks to become serviceable. RB would be easier to backfill and right now we have options with Brieda and Williams. One of them will replace Moss. They may add a spark. I think the immediate problem is the OL, especially the OG’s. A great line can make an average runner look very good, but even a great runner will struggle with a below average line. Yes. And let’s stop the sideline lateral passes for one yard. Those plays don’t work.
  18. Exactly. I was told that numerous times last year when I said we could take a guard in the first or second round if there is a sure starter there. I can see us taking Rousseau at 1, but not another DE at 2. Athletic guards that are strong at pass blocking and run blocking are not easy to find.
  19. Good points. Looking at the running game, we really didn’t improve it. Out moves were: at OL (added rookie tackles), RB (added Brieda), and nothing at TE (other than Knox’s development). Defenses are catching up to our passing game, just like KC’s, so we have to find a way to be better in the ground game. Some teams match up and stop us, if we can’t counter and adjust like we did versus Miami, we are going to have problems. The problems aren’t team culture if we play teams that match up and take away what we do best.
  20. Agree. Williams runs with some power, which will be lacking without Moss.
  21. We can get by with this line: Dawkins - Feliciano - Morse - Williams - Brown We drop considerably with any other combination. Take two players out like now and we are below average.
  22. The culture doesn’t change from week to week. The culture is fine. Work Habits and attitude change faster than culture and they need to get back to humble and hungry. They need to prepare better. They have to learn that past success does not mean a thing. They can be hunters or they can be the hunted. Yesterday they were clearly the hunted. The bubble popped. They did not play over their heads versus anybody and the Titans have done nothing to be considered elite either. They need to go back to working harder, and proving themselves every day.
  23. I saw it from the beginning. They were flat. Some of the loss was mental readiness and some was the poor play of the OL that stymied the entire offense. Missing two starters and with a 3rd guy out of position, the communication up front looked to be poor. I put this on Daboll and McD. There were too many untouched Jags getting to Allen. The talk of “stacking wins” needs to stop. That term in itself is looking forward. This is one week at a time league.
  24. Sure can’t argue with that. On that subject, I wonder why they stopped going to the end zone? One trip in the red zone on our first drive and we run and pass sideways. Seems like flooding our receivers into the end zone and a Josh RPO would be a good thing to try inside the 7.
