Zach Cunningham released (Update : Claimed by the Titans)
Bob in STL replied to billvernsays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Do you think that teams might see that and pass on run downs? -
Did Sean go too far calling out Mckenzie?
Bob in STL replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dawson Knox hurt us more yesterday than McKenzie ever has. Yet with the game on the line Knox’s number was called and he did not make a play. Should Knox live in fear of not playing next week? Of course not. Players being benched for mistakes is not new or wrong, but public discussions about it are never good. I am shocked at McDermott’s public comments on not trusting players. It seems out of character. This has been a trying season and there are other puzzling comments by him, players, and coaches. For the first time in McD era this team’s culture is not flattering. It shows in their 0-4 record in games decided by one score. No come from behind wins. A 3-3 home record. I said this before. This team reminds me of the 1989 Bills. A team that regressed after a big year, then emerged and became great. McD needs to hold the team together, treat this as part of the learning process, and get better in all phases of the game. The Bills are still a work in progress. -
Coaching up is just not happening. Morse is past his prime and has a history of injuries/concussions. Boetgger and Ford need to be replaced with better guards. They stink.

Yes, Moss is slow and lacks vision. He should have went wide on his red zone carry and blew up the CB that was the only guy there. Instead he went inside, right into the DL. Brieda is better but fumbled and McD is going crazy about fumbles. Singletary is not much either but he is the only one I trust will improve with better blocking.

We built a team to beat KC ... and can't beat anyone else.
Bob in STL replied to damj's topic in The Stadium Wall
The things that worked last year have been taken away by opposing defenses. Even by teams like Jax. Allen is one of 6ge few bright spits. He becoming much more patient which is good, but he needs help. Better blockers, especially in the interior will help everything else be better. Then add quality RB’s that have speed and power. Finally, add a massive blocking TE. We do not have a heavy package. (That’s what she said). Buffalo is Buffalo. Half the home games are in bad weather. Historically, the teams that have won in Buffalo have strong OLs, power at running back, and blocking TEs. Even dome teams need this, it’s part of football. McD is basically say8ng he is not happy with the make up (mindset) of this team. I expect a lot of turnover this off season. -
You need athletic blockers, you need RBs that catch and have vision to get YAC. We have neither.

Yes. I was thinking Jax was home since we had more fans there. -

What a difference a year makes. This team talks too much. Right now are an average AFC team. Losses to Pitts, Titans, Colts and Pats*. One win at KC. They have have a poor home record, with already 4 losses at home. That spells mediocre. There is no reason to believe they are better than the Ravens, Bengals, Chargers, Cleveland or Vegas. Last year we were 4-1 in games decided by one score. You just knew someone would make a play and they usually did. This year we are 0-4 in games decided by one score. You just don’t see anyone step up at crunch time. No hero’s this year. They had Two red zone chances to end the game. Possible points outcome (ignoring 2 point conversion) are 14, 10, 7, 6, 3 or 0. They had Zero because no one made a play. How does it happen? To be that poor it’s systemic ineptitude. A combination of missed holes, missed blocks, missed throws, dropped balls, penalties, missed kicks, poor effort, and low percentage play calls. Coaching/play-calling looks suspect. Execution is truly lacking. Are they working hard enough and listening to the coaches? -
He is not good. The OL does not run block well but the backs lack NFL speed and quickness.
-
Moss could have bumped that run outside for an easy 4 yards before he would be touched. He ran right into the blocking. He is slow and lacks vision. Same with Singletary.

The ESPN Announcers spelled out for you that Allen was scrambling for his life on the few occasions he did not try to throw to open receivers.

Gameday Bills vs Pats* Postgame Thread
Bob in STL replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wow. Another loss to Belichick. He managed the game in a manner that surprised no one and yet we played right into his hands. No secrets there. Hard to complain about the defense giving up only 14 points but the defense really could have done more. The big 65 yard run killed us. We fell behind with the wind at our backs. Add insult to injury, they even ran on the 2 point conversion. Ouch. Offense came up with only 10 points despite an average start at the 40 yard line. Only 1 TD in 4 red zones. A missed field goal. It’s pretty obvious we don’t have good enough talent at TE, OG, and RB. All holes we had going into the last draft. After a great start, Dawson Knox’s season is turning out to be another inconsistent one. The ability to run is non existent and it’s obvious the interior OL can not move anyone. We had too many unfavorable down and distance situations because we do not have a credible running game. Zack Moss last carry in the red zone was terrible, he just does not have the speed to get outside to the open field. There were yards there that our RBs can’t get to. Allen once again wad asked to do it all. I think they could have ran him more, especially in the red zone. On a few occasions Allen could not see open receivers because the was scrambling for his life. I wish Allen would not look for Knox so much. Beasley and Davis are far more reliable. -
You might care too much this stuff. It’s just not important.

What teams do you fear playing in the PLAYOFFS the most?
Bob in STL replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't know what is going on with Bills fans on this board. So many threads on fear. Fear of the Pats*. Fear of running teams. Fear of the playoffs. WTF. We have the best talent in the AFC. We just need to prepare and then go out and execute - and have fun. Sure, we have issues with depth on the OL and a depth in a few other places. Every team has issues like that. If the Bills lack anything it is the leadership and resolve to make sure everyone is accountable to do their job on every play. The Bills worst enemy is within. They need to stop beating themselves with missed assignments, penalties, etc. One game at a time. Win on MNF, then talk about the next week. -

Tannehill sucks today. Wow. Let’s run the table. The Bills are good enough to do that. -

Titans should have run four times. Tannehill choked again. -
Yes, having a defense that ranks in the top 3 in every meaningful category is very bad. Oh brother, “flip players tor picks” , brilliant.
