  1. Super Bowl 1- Max McGee, a backup reciever for the Packers and a known party animal snuck out at night after Lombardi's curfew and got plastered. He was not expecting to play but a Packer starter got hurt and he played with what he described as a terrible hangover. He had a huge game, caught a few TDs.
  2. They partied like crazy in Tampa. Luckily, they did not have the extra week off. They were tight? Don't think so. They did not make enough big plays on offense. They missed tackes on defense. They waited until the 4th quarter to ride Thurman against a two man line. They did exactly what Bellichek and Parcells planned.
  3. Can we draft a big, mean, nasty fullback with some skills with our extra 6th or 7th rounders? Any decent fullbacks out there?
  4. What's to forgive? I don't recall that Bruce left his lane on that play. Several others Bills did though.
  5. I cannot understand why people are so preoccupied with past Bills. This is the era of free agency people. Can we just make a list of all the players that played for the Bills and then went on to other teams and had good careers. Because this ONLY happens to the Bills. I'll start - 1967 Daryl Lamonica was traded to the Oakland Raiders for Tom Flores, Art Powell and three old smelly jock straps. Then we really screwed up because we did not keep Flores and he coached a team to the Super Bowl. Ok. who's next?
  6. Ok, you make a good point except McNeil will also cost us some kind of compensation in the form of draft picks. Right? Isn't he a restricted FA?
  7. Biggest needs are - LT, QB, DL, and LB There is very little talent at OT that is not restricted. I think we have to draft one. Ditto at QB. Unless we want to try a journeyman while we develop a rookie. With all the talk about 3-4, I would say we need to sign Wilfork. A 3-4 starts with the NT. Nothing like adding an impact player on the DL. Dansby would be awesome at LB. We need more depth here too. Your right about Walter at WR. We will lose Owens and Reed. We could use a whole bunch of depth players that are lower tier but have some upside.
  8. Lets not gamble on this pick with Tebow, please. If McClain is there we need to draft him. He has the look of an impact player. Otherwise, go with the best OT on the board.
  9. Maybe so. Depending on who is left on the board at 9 I would not mind a trade down. I think if we drop to about 20 we can another 2nd rounder (according to that value chart stuff). this team has so many needs and it does not look like we can get a good LT via free agency.
  10. So his career has done a little better than Chuck Lester's?
  11. So you want to hire Frazier and force a OC on him? Did you ever think that Frazier would want to bring in his own guy? He may not even know Chan. :wallbash;
  12. THIS IS NOT THE REASON HE LEFT. YOUR STORY IS BUFFALO BILLS MYTHOLOGY. He was tired of fighting with Littman. After he re-signed Bennett to an extension Littman has a fit and went to Ralph. Polian then tried to re-sign Will Wolford and Littman stopped it with Ralph's backing. Polian quit after that season. Wolford then became a free agent and signed with the Colts. Polian knew everything about the new salary cap and free agency. He worked on a committe with the comissioner to help set it up. He was trying to restructure contracts for as many of the core players that he could to avoid losing them to free agency. When his plans were overturned he walked.
  13. Why wouldn't we believe you. I met John Butler at a Bisons game one summer day. He was awesomne. We talked for along time and he talked about the players and player moves. Another great guy.
  14. You may be right. He appears to be a good motivator. He is the Anti-Jauron.
  15. Better sale? We won't know what kind of a HC he will be until he actually becomes one. His defense was quite good. I thought they contained Brees, for the most part.
  16. Agree. The Vikings OC pulled a Jauron. Looked like our monday night game versus Cleveland. Two runs and then 12 men in the huddle. That left it to Favre to bail them out. Favre should have done the safe thing and run but he did what he always has done ... he tried to make the big play. Time to retire Brett.
  17. Last season we lacked several things: 1. Coach - I blame Jauron for going into the season with the no huddle, for firing the OC right before the season started, for the late cut of Walker, for not standing up to Brandon on Peters. 2. QB - amazed that we won 6 games with the play we had at QB. 3. OL experience. Too much youth. Too much faith in unproven players. Clueless mismanagement. 4. LB - nothing done in the off season to improve or add depth and it killed our defense. More clueless mismanagement. Just think what we could do with a quality LT, on more LB that can make plays, and an average QB? A hard list to fill but not impossible. We are close.
  18. Not so sure about that. In the NFL you have to make the money when you can. Wilfork already has rings. He might like to play against the Pats*? He might like the challenge? I think if we have DC with a good rep you never know. He will go were the money is. Time to open the vault Ralph.
  19. Is there a point?
  20. Used in this context, statements like this are just so stupid, no matter what team/city your talking about.
  21. and the louder volumes is that neither of them is an NFL starter. Now which one can come off of the nench and lead the team? I think we saw Fitz do that, twice.
  22. I would agree with your cuts but i would keep Whitner. We could sign a few big names and then a whole bunch of mid-tier players that have some upside. There is no upside to any of the players on your list ... at least not in Buffalo.
  23. Recipe for disaster right now. We will need a NT to rotate with Stroud for one thing. Kelsey and Williams are not 3-4 DEs for another. Maybin has no pass coverage skills, and neither does Schoebel. Other than that it looks great. We are not ready to move to a 3-4. Maybe after the draft and free agency, if can sign acquire a few players on the front 7 that can play both 3-4 and 4-3, then we can transition to 3-4 next year. Funny how all of the great schemes change over time ... back in the Super Bowl years a lot of Bills fans complained about the 3-4. We we prone to running attacks that featured big powerful OLs. For example, NY Giants, Washington Redskins, and Dallas Cowboys.
