  1. 1. Who are "most people"? People on TSW? Why is 2nd rounder enough if he is tendered for a 1st and a 3rd? 2. How much money does he want? What is his character like? 3. Even if the Bills could, and would, make the trade for a 2nd rounder they would be smart to waiting until they are on the clock at #41. Look at who is there before you make the trade.
  2. No. Whitner is a very good player. I see Campbell as a journeyman QB at best.
  3. Make it happen Astro.
  4. No wonder you missed the boat and are stuck on the island of misfit toys. His NFL resume is: two years as HC at Dallas and he went to the playoffs both season. Do you follow football?
  5. McNabb - Don't want him. And I'll bet he doesn't want us either. As for the LT that Cowboys released, Flozell Adams. We had our chance to draft him about 10 years ago. His career is coming to an end, time to move on.
  6. Bad pick, even if he makes the HoF - most rediculous HB's don't win Super Bowls - 2nd most rediculous keep going ...
  7. In that scenario I would really look to trade down. Not easy to do but there are teams looking for Clausen, and Spiller. Who is Veek?
  8. We would not get much. We are already very thin at WR so why trade Lee Evans, one of the few legitimate starters on the offense, and create another huge hole? We trade him for maybe a 2nd rounder just so we can draft another WR? Trade Evans and we will have Hardy and Johnson starting? Yes -- that will put fear into the defenses of the AFC east. (Sarcasm intended) Trade Lynch for what? A fourth rounder? Then if Fredie Jackson goes down we have who to carry the ball? Not sure we even have another tailback on the roster? I guess we would use that new 4th rounder to draft a rookie backup RB? So do you really think we will get a better player than Lynch with this pick? Thanks for the great ideas but I say no thanks. Your trade weakens our overall talent base by a lot.
  9. I am friends with some die hard football fan in Forida. The talk down there is Tebow goes to Jax in round 1, they do not have a 2nd round pick. He will be their savior at the box office. Jacksonville is close to Gainesville and part of Gator country. The idea of drafting Tebow is an easy sell down there. If the Bills truly covet Tebow they will take him at #9. Not saying I agree with the pick. We have a lot of other needs and Tebow is a project.
  10. 1. Agree 2. Don't you think they must of thought the "good" safety was going to be "great". And you are using hindsight. 3. Agree .. and it will be official in July when he gets cut. 4. I did not like the McKelvin pick either but fail to see what it has to do with "play not to lose" .
  11. If we would have worked his contract a year early we could have got him for much less than $7M per year and he would have been worth it. I don't see Mckelvin playing better and what are we paying him .. and more important , what will CBs go for when he is an FA? Moving a corner to FS is not unusual. Especially after 6-7 years in the league and a few injuries. Ronnie Lott come to mind.
  12. I like McClain at 9 too but with the signing of Davis, plus Poz and Mitchel on the roster I kind of doubt it. I would be happy with a trade down and another second rounder.
  13. My take: 2000 Erik Flowers - bust (John Butler pick) 2001 Nate Clements - very good player that we should have kept. (Donahoe) 2002 Mike Williams - bust (Donahoe) 2003 Willis McGahee - not a bust, major waste of a draft pick though (Donahoe) 2004 Lee Evans - very good player, could be an impact player in the right situation. (Donahoe) 2004 J.P. Losman - bust, trade up by Donahoe. 2005 No 1st Round Pick, Roscoe Parrish (2nd Round)? - not a bust but another wasted pick by Donahoe 2006 Donte Whitner - good player, not a star, therefore a TBD whipping boy (Levy) 2006 John McCargo - this is the final year, then we can label him a bust. (Levy) 2007 Marshawn Lynch - very good player, just needs to grow up. (Levy) 2008 Leodis McKelvin - too soon to tell (Brandon/ Jauron) 2009 Aaron Maybin - too soon to tell (Brandon/ Jauron) 2009 Eric Wood - already looks like a future Pro Bowl player. (Brandon/ Jauron) Overall a very poor decade to say the least.
  14. I wish we had kept Smerlas one more year. He would have played in SB XXV. He and Wright would have made a good rotation.
  15. Not bad. 1. Would be nice if Iupati can actually play LT. I am hearing he projects to be a stud at OG that might also play RT. 2a. Tebow is a prospect that is boom or bust. Worth the pick if we can get an extra 2nd, otherwise I would pass. 2b. Sad that we are replacing our number 1 pick last year with a number 2 this year. If true it clearly demonstares the lack of a planning and stability in our FO. 3. Thomas might not be there with the premium on NTs right now. 4. Good time to look for WR after other positions are addressed.
  16. Not stopping the run was indeed a big part of the loss. Not stopping the pass was too. The Giants had several very long drives where they mixed run and pass. My point is that the other 10 players on defense did not step up enough either. I can recall Talley missing a crucial 3rd down tackle that keeps a long Giants scoring drive going. I recall Bennett dropping an interception. I recall Bruce Smith, on numerous occasions, failing to contain the run because he was taking inside moves to get to the QB. On offense we made mistakes as well. The Giants took the Andre Reed slant pattern out of the playbook and yet we kept going back to it. We came up short on 3rd down numerous times because of it. We passed too much against a 2 man line. Had we run Therman more they would have scrapped that formation and then we could have open up the passing lanes. Lots of reasons we lost but mostly it was superb coaching and execution by the more experienced opponent. We did exactly what they expected us to do and they executed their game plan perfectly.
  17. Good list to start with., let me expand it a bit. Fight for your legal rights when it comes to support. This is your right. You have a daughter, show her how to overcome adversity by your example, not by words. Don't bad mouth the EX, even though she deserves it. You have an opportunity somewhere within this painful place so don't waste your energy on that stuff. Broaden your network ... church, work, volunteer, kids school, verterans groups, ... there are lots of places to do this. A bigger better network will open opportunities for work and will help you to meet the right kind of people. Let your friends and family help if they are available to do so. Then do things to help them. Don't fall for the get drunk and have sex with lots of women stuff. That is temporary relief. Not the big picture solution. Excerise (if you can) and eat right ... you can reduce stress with exercise, even if it's walking, stretching, etc. Make it part of your daily routine and it will help you feel better. Not sure about your financial status but avoid credit. Simplify. Everyday at the end of the day, think of three things that made you happy. Keep it simple. Sounds silly I know but you will quickly see that there are many good things to keep you going forward. Simple things that we take for granted. You will get through it if that is your focus. Important to understand through it means you will not stay in the painful place. You will meet someone better if that is your focus In asking for help, you just started the process. Better days await you.
  18. There are many years of bad offense in Jauron's resume with both Chicago and Buffalo. His OC's and his approach to the game are terrible. It most likely hurt Losman to play under DJ but if he really is a good QB he will eventually land with an NFL team and prove it. (Ref: Jim Pluncket)
  19. Hmm. ???? Are you no longer a moderator? I don't think Trent is a "pu$$y" at all. He was proven to be willing to take hits and come back. He takes a beating playing behind a sub-standard line as you correctly state. Jauron and all of his OC's ran a plain vanilla Mickey Mouse offense. Chan Gailey is here and he was hired for his ability to run offenses and develop QBs. Trent will get another chance and I hope he can raise him game from last year were he lost his job to a less talented player in Fitzpatrick. Where I question Trent is in the leadership department. He appears to be a bit distant with his team mates. Some of the things he says make me think he does not have the same passion as the top tier QBs in the league. The Bills rallied around Fitz last year and they made more plays with him in the game. The coach, and the interim coach both felt that Fitz gave them a better chance of winning. These things make me wonder about Trent's confidence and leadership much more than whether he is tough enough. I sure hope Trent takes the next step and becomes a top QB in this league.
  20. Seems a bit harsh. I team with at least 5 Hall of Fame players on the field, plus a HoF coach, plus another 10 or so players that made pro bowls and Jeff Wright is getting the blame? Wow!
  21. I think that in the long run Wood will be the better player for us. I like his skill, his maturity, his leadership and his attitude. Lets not base the trade results on one season and a random event like the broken leg. Had Peters broke his leg would you be ready to declare that the Bills got the best of the trade? Lets look at this trade 5 years down the road and see. Nelson looks like a good TE to me. How can you criticize a fourth round pick for not cracking the starting line up? When Nelson did start start he graded out well. He needs work on his blocking but I like what I saw overall. He knows how to get open and he has excellent speed and hands. He could be great in the red zone if we can ever build a complete offense. Look forward.
  22. I think Trent improved steadily and then he started to regress but whatever. I'm not going to argue with a blanket statement.
  23. NGU - I like what you said (see bold above). The rebuilding of the Buffalo Bills will take a few years. I just don't think the FO can turn this team into an 11-5 team like Miami did two years ago. I would not mind seeing what Trent can do in a Jauron-less environment. Maybe Gailey can help him? If Trent does not cut it then we address QB next year. Meanwhile, lets add more talent to less risky areas and we are sure to fill some holes. Left Tackle and Nose Tackle are in dire need. It is difficult to draft to a "Best Player" philosophy when we have so many needs.
  24. Agree. Let's move on.
