  1. By now what slot they were drafted in means very little. I am sure they are dressing the guys that give them the best chance to win. Heck, Ellis didn't dress for years, he is a 3rd rounder.
  2. 1. We have no pass ruch. none. Zero. 2. We were playing Brady, Moss and Welker.
  3. He did not have to block, catch, throw, and tackle. Same team only worse.
  4. Make me laugh a little more. Draft Levi Brown in round 7 - cut him - uncheck. Draft Wang and Calloway in rounds 5 and 7 - cut one and stick the other on the bench behind Cornell Green - uncheck. Those were our biggest needs and we spent a 5 and two 7's on it. Great job!! Nice impact moves. Wow!! On top of that, switch to a 3-4 when our personnel cannot support it and create about 4 more big holes that we will fill with unproven rookies - uncheck. Lets not forget replacing TO with Stevie Johnson - uncheck.
  5. Shobel is gone and not replaced. TO gone replace by Stevie Johnson. Brad Butler gone replace by Cornell Green. Same team only worse.
  6. "Act of Attrition" - that is a very funny pun; not sure whether you know it or not. I think you do know there are no "football gods". Putting Flutie on the WoF will fix nothing and will cheapen the Wall for the others. Putting Lou Saban on the WoF is something long overdue. The Bills simply need better leadership, vision, and technical knowledge of the game. Start at the top and work your way through the entire front office, to the coaches, and then of course the players.
  7. You are very wrong about coverage. The few elite TEs in the NFL are difficult for anyone to cover. They have a rare comdination fo size and speed. Most TE's are primarily blockers and can be covered by a Safety, some by a LB only but require saftey help on deeper patterns. BTW -- LB's typically cannot cover as well as Safeties.
  8. If he really could have got a 3rd rounder then I am not so sure that hanging on to Lynch was the right thing. Can't believe that there was not a LB/OT/WR/TE on the board that couldn't somehow improve our talent and depth. He has made very few moves. I could not tell you what his best is at this time.
  9. I think Donte is a good player and I admire his passion. He at least wants to win and we need more players like that. Now, what I would really love to see is him backing up the talk with some better play. Make that interception last week and turn their 3 into our 6. Until some people on this team make the big plays when the have the chance they will continue to lose and continue to be a laughing stock. Some players like Whitner care, and others apparently don't. Lets get rid of the ones that don't.
  10. Welker, Edelmann, and ?Moss.
  11. Not really. He insulted our OL back in the mid-2000's. Said they were a joke, and they were, and they still are not any better today.
  12. No Vick. Not this year and not next year. We will not pay for Vick and he probably would not not to come here even if we did. No Vick. Next year we draft a QB and if we need someone as a stop gap it will be someone cheaper and lower profile. No Vick. OK?
  13. Evans is certainly a #1 WR and if he went to Minnesota you would see that. Trading him would be a bad deal for us, we would have to use a #1 or 32 to replace him. We already have a huge list if needs. Evans is one of the few good players on the team. Don't trade good players for draft choices.
  14. If we win Sunday there will be so much euphoria on the TSW that I bet you hear the word "playoffs".
  15. Yes. Ernie Warlick was in it. He talked about the AFL All Star game in New Orleans and that they did not play the game there due to racism. The black players were to be put in separate hotels and restaurants. Both black and white players stood up against it and they moved the game to Houston. One funny part was Cookie Gilcrest had a great line when asking for cab in New Orleans. The Hotel guy tells him to go get a colored cab. Legend has it that Cookie answered "I don't care what color the cab is, I just need a cab!" It was not funny back then though.
  16. Looks like a cool cat. Thanks. If you ever get a chance to watch "Full Color Football" you should. It is a 5 part series about the 10 awesome years of AFL football. Lots of good things about the Bills and all of the teams. No mention of Sestak, which surprised me, but the defense of 64 and 65 was covered in good detail.
  17. Ah there it is. The obligatory "get rid of Hang Man" post. Sad thing is, Hang Man probably grades out the highest of anyone on our OL after 2 games. What I saw was Hang Man helping Howard and Wood getting abused. I still don't think Wood is fully back. Why move Wood to center right now? Maybe we do that next year after he works on it during preseason? Levitre does not look like a tackle in the NFL. He is athletic enough but a bit small and with short arms. He is a gaurd in the NFL and if you are watching he also has been struggling a bit. As for the others: Bell is looking ok but he cannot finish a game. When he comes out Meredith is a huge drop off. Green looks like a turnstile in the same style as Kirk Chambers.
  18. Keep the faith mate. Yes, there are parallels to past rebuilds. True, we lack talent in many areas. Agree, the front office is spinning their wheels. I still think that Chan and Nix knew this was Edwards last shot. Of the 3 QBs that we have today Edwards had the best shot to develop into a good one. Problem is he doesn't know how to think at NFL speed and he lacks leadership. Now he look to be done as a Bill. time to move on. I think two games was enough. Don't know why you hate Fitz? With Fitz you will get less talent but better decisions, better leadership, and more football savvy. I think you will see a better showing against New England this week. Brohm? He could be a diamiond in the rough but proabably not. I think he will get his chance to play this season and we will know what we have with him. Now matter what happens we draft a QB in the off season and continue the search for the next great Bills QB. Cheers.
  19. Polian makes mistakes too.
  20. Two big problems with Hawk. 1. Overpaid 2. Can not cover. A 3 down LB at best. Other than that he has a cool name.
  21. Wade Phillips? Will he finish the season? Looks like "the hit".
  22. Well it only took me 1,538 posts but I found a suitable avatar. Tom Sestak. He retired after the 1969 season so he never officially played in the NFL. He had many knee injuries that cut his career short. Sestak was known to be big, strong and fast. He is a defensive tackle on the All Time AFL Team, which is recognized in the Pro Football HoF. His names also graces The Stadium Wall at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Sestak is one of the main reasons why the Bills won back to back AFL championships. He was the best player on the best defense the AFL. His teams, coach by Lou Saban, defeated the powerful San Diego Chargers two times. I once met Paul Macguire and he told me that Sestak was "a behometh with speed" and "the best defensive player in the league at that time". Exactly what my father said many years prior. Anyway, a little break from the "Trent sucks" and "what is Chan thinking" stuff.
  23. If you keep Owens you progress the WR's that can actually beat him out. Those are the ones you want starting on your team. Handing the job to Stevie Johnson will not improve the team.
  24. I was there watching it and I could not believe the way he played on the last 3 plays.
  25. If Chan was too stupid to keep Chad Simpson then Bill Polian was even more stupid. Didn't the Colts release Chad Simpson after two season? Anyone who blames Chan for not keeping Chad Simpson and Joique Bell over CJ Spiller, Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson would need his head examined. Good luck to Simpson and Bell in the future. If they flourish more power to them.
