It was a 51 yarder and we had the lead. We have nothing to lose ... nothing to fear but fear itself. I say you go for it with 24 seconds on the clock. If you miss it you tried, you showed confidence in your team, and then you demand that your defense hold them for 24 dam seconds. All we did was spot Brady 7 yards.

Mitchell asked to be released
Bob in STL replied to Coach Klein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why do you say that? He was a mid level, mid priced free agent. He performed at a good level. Seemed to be a team guy. Who lets a Pro Bowl player walk unless they have issues? What are you expecting? He and Poz are the only two LBs on this team that could even play on a decent defense in the NFL. -
Maybe this will bring Tommy Boy down

jacksonsville not sold on TE

You have to be cut, then clear waivers, to be put on the practice squad. Eat more fiber for the other problem. -
Mitchell asked to be released
Bob in STL replied to Coach Klein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like it or not he was one of the better LBs on the team, and one of the few that could cover. -
I know what you mean. I am a long time fan and I really appreciate Ralph for what he did bringing a team here and keeping it here. The team needs a new direction and they need a fresh start with competent leadership that focuses on winning football games. If Ralph dies and the team is sold to the highest bidder then say good Buffalo. I just don't think that is what Ralph wants. What kind of legacy is that? If he wants them to stay then he should relinquish control now, sell the team to a Buffalo based consortium, and still be allowed to be on the Board of Directors as a minority shareholder. Does the NFL have rules against that? I do believe that they have to approve a change in ownership.

Demetrius Bell...run blocker extraordinaire?
Bob in STL replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ubrick and Wang have no game experience at all. Your line might be worse than this years version. You want to improve? Try this going into camp next year. LT - Bell and Wang compete LG - Levitre, Howard and Urbick compete C - Hangartner and Wood compete RG - Wood, Howard and Urbick compete RT - Bring in proven NFL veteran and also draft a talented tackle that is not an after thought Meredith and Green - buh bye -
Demetrius Bell...run blocker extraordinaire?
Bob in STL replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You said it! We have a huge need at QB and LB and DL. If we our looking for a RT instead of a LT that makes the rebuild less daunting. I hope that next year we at least rty to upgrade the defense with free agency as well as the draft. -
Lets put the Mort - Donahoe relationship aside. Who doesn't think that Ralph should let his football people (not Littman and Brandon) run the team? I think that is Mort's whole point and he is abolutely correct.

Will definitlely concur that Stroud is not making any plays. Like I said, Carrington should be geteting some reps but i recall him having major problems taking on first string blockers.

True. Where are the posts on how lousy Hangartner is? -
A Bills fan takes a step back and reflects

+1. The OP should give it up. Being a Bills fan is hard work and it goes beyond the W-L record. -
Carrington will not be better than Stroud at this point in his career. I can see giving him some reps but he should not start or play the majority of the snaps. Who is Troupe?

How many play makers and Pro Bowl players are on the roster? None is the answer. Maybe Moorman. Byrd and Wood could get there someday. Spiller has the potential. Teams that go to the Super Bowl have lots of Pro Bowl players. We have years to go.

The Media's Opinion is a Joke !!
Bob in STL replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, those moves to shore up the defensive front 7 really helped us hold the Pats* to 38 points and the Packer to just 34. Wow! -
It was a stupid celebration and it was a bad penalty at a critical time. Luckily it worked out ok and we got the ball back. To respond to your questions: 1st - Yes, dropping the pass would be worse. 2nd - No. We lost anyway. 38-30 is the same as 45-0 in the standings. Both equal 1 loss. 3rd - Are the Bills that pathetic that he has to celebrate a TD like we just won a Super Bowl? 4th - "Ugly faced" Pats* won again for the 14th straight time. Losing by a lot or a little makes no difference to me. So I guess what we have here is a generation gap. Make your excuses if you need to but Johnson looked like a fool.

Why Trent was Benched and Released
Bob in STL replied to NaPolian8693's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was at the Miami game. If I could have went to the coaches and complained about it I would have. I still think about that last series and no attempt to try to get down the field. So Mr. Insider, just how were Chan and Buddy handcuffed? -
Hey all you young'ens. Read this article on George Blanda. What an amazing character and another tribute to the old AFL for providing the chance for a good player who won an NFL Championship as the starting QB on the Bears, to become a great player. I remember watching him bail out Lamonica by throwing TD passes and then kicking game winning FG's. Clutch professional, George Blanda. RIP
-
Stop that. We must at least discuss the fact that Chan came in and had all of last year’s film to look at. It was clear last year that Fitz was the better QB. Chan spent an entire training camp and preseason with Trent as the #1. Trent played all the preseason games with the #1 offense. The league and the national media look at this situation and it's no wonder why the entire organization is considered a dysfunctional mess.

A Cry For Honesty in Discussing Bills Players
Bob in STL replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Decent evaluation. I think that Evans is good, getting rid of him just create another huge hole. Kyle Williams would be a great swing lineman but we need a stud NT to make the 3-4 work. Teams with great 3-4 defenses have lots of good LBs. We sure don't. Bell is progressing too. He is not a converted TE. -
Kelsay Deserves the Extension

This has been a paid political announcement by The Comittee to Re-elect Chris Kelsay. -
Bills are being laughed at on the field.
Bob in STL replied to b stein 22's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No need for a counter arguement. I have been saying all along that they did not do enough in free agency. We went into that draft with far too many holes. That forced them to have to draft NT and DE very early in the draft. I do not question Buddy's ability as a scout. He has proven himself in that capacity. As a GM does he have the planning skills and the smarts to be the architect of this rebuild? We shall see. -
It was a horrible and a stupid penalty. I hope he gets fined. If we had savvy players that understand the game maybe this would not happen. It should have been obvious that our defense cannot be trusted to get the ball back so an onside kick following the score was very likely. We were fortunate that the kick from our 15 turned out as good as it did and our defense actually pushed them back. This is all I want from the 2010 Buffalo Bills. SHUT UP and WIN A FEW GAMES. Whitner tweeting and talking about being laughed at. Maybin continually acting like a high school player whenever he makes any kind of a play (which is not often). Now Johnson playing the fool on a TD. This stuff is not funny and one of these days I sure hope get lucky enough to draft a few serious players that are leaders.
-
He definitely is better than Trent, no doubt remains. I enjoyed today's games immensely. They competed and were in it to the end. Last week we were blown out early in the 3rd Quarter. The first week was a snooze fest.

Littman works for Ralph and his job goes beyond the Buffalo Bills. He will not resign.
