  1. See bold above and here is what is wrong with your thoughts regarding coporate tickets: 1. Corporate buys seats no matter what. They give their seats in the luxury suites to their executives as perks. Some Exec's use them to take customers, potential customers, and key suppliers to games. Sometimes "regular employees" get them as performance recognition. Bottom line: Corporate ticket buyers do not care either way if the team is good or not, they buy the tickets for reasons beyond team loyalty. 2. The problem with Buffalo/WNY and Rochester is that there are little corporate $$$ to pull from. Not many Fortune 500 companies in the area anymore. Buffalo has to rely on real fans. Owners like Ralphie have to share the gate on the "real fan" revenue but not on the luxury boxes. Toronto gives Ralphie the opportunity to get more luxury suite revenue and also to demand much high prices’ for the non-luxury seating. Nothing against luxury suites but whoever came up with the revenue loophole is now killing the small markets and taking the game away from the real fans. Ticket prices are ridiculous, both owners and players are making fortunes but it is the fans decide that in an open market. The market is setting the prices.
  2. I want ua to draft an OT in the first 3 round AND to find some help in free agency. The KC game made it obvious again that both tackles are below average. We could not bounce any runs outside, their ends and LBs pushed everything into the middle. Don't want to hear how good KC is, they are average and our OTs are below that.
  3. Pearlman, as a writer, ranks with Mathison as a football player. Mathison was indeed a very bad football player. He had his chance and he did not take advantage of it. Content to sit on his brians with his girlie flip flops on and watch Dan Fouts. And that is worthy of a story? Jack Kemp had the same circumstance and produced with much different results.
  4. How does Taddeus get mentioned in the same breath as Merriman? One is a pro bowler and a star, the other never plays? I don't get the Taddeus cheering section on the TSW and apparently, neither do the Steelers?
  5. You forgot: Fitz wins MVP, Chan is Coach of the Year, Nix is Executive of the Year, and Cordero Howard wins Rookie of the year. Good thing we signed Merriman instead of Thadeaus What's-his-puss.
  6. I think Glazer is wrong. Thw Bills are trying to improve the team and finally, they do something that looks like a legitimate move. If he can play at a high level that is great for us. He just might playing for Buffalo. It takes him out of the spotlight and he can concentrate on getting his career back on track. The fans will love him if he is anything close to the player he was. I like the move.
  7. John McCargo dodges another bullet.
  8. The proper decision was to mix the run with the pass. KC should have never even had the final drive in the game. They had no timeouts and we had the ball on their 42 (in very long FG territory (~59 yards). He needed at least one first down to run the clock down and then let Lindell try a kick. Two first downs would be much better but really, we were within a few yards of a taking shot, especially if we drain the clock. A mix of run and pass made sense. We were in the drivers seat and we panicked. Fitz threw three straight incomplete passes, the third one was called intentional grounding. The clock barely ticked at all and we were looking at 4th and forever. That was followed by a 26 yard punt. KC, with no timeouts, had the ball with plenty of time run the ball down our throats ... and they did. The Bills do not yet know how to win and it showed once again.
  9. Great stuff as usual Bill. -- I think the problem with Jackson was the blocking. It looked to me like both tackles had problems, there was constant pressure pinching in from the tackles and we could not break anything outside. Jackson ran hard when he had room to get moving. -- Spiller needs more touches. We threw too many passes and and our average per throw was actually worse than the average per carry.
  10. No thanks. Progress shows in wins and we have none. In todays NFL KC is a few plays from being 3-4 and so is Buffalo. KC is not a good team and Buffalo is worse.
  11. Lesters on Clayton in Chesterfield. The Bills Backers meet there for every game.
  12. KC is on the upswing for sure. I am watching Sports Center and the staff in Dallas and Minnesota are upset and embarrassed. For Buffalo it looks like many fans look for positives when we play a close game. The team is still bottoming out. We have many sub par players that start on this team.
  13. Yes Kevin, there were some positive. Still very painful to blow this game when we had the win within striking distance 4 times and came away with nothing.
  14. You titled your thread: "Say what you want, they showed heart today". I said what I want. Looks like what you really meant: "Don't say anything that does not agree with me, because I am an internet wise guy".
  15. Captain Obvious schooled Captain Cliche.
  16. I have to thank the KC coaching staff for holding themselves to 13 points. Why did they ever throw a pass? Our defense is very bad. Kyle Williams is all we have.
  17. I see a lot of posters are happy, and even satisfied, just to see the Bills in a close game. I am very frustrated by the past two weeks and I find no solace in losing close games. When the reason we lose is stupid mistakes it is not good enough. I expect many posters to disagree but the play calling and the game management at the end of the 4th Q and in OT was lousy. We could have run the ball and got Lindell closer on his missed FG attempt. Just 4 to 5 yards would have been enough to do it. First and 10 on their 40 and we pass, and it gets picked. Ouch. First and 10 on their 42 and we pass. Second and ten on their 42 and we pass. Third and 10 on their 42 and we pass, with an empty backfield, and get penalized for intentional grounding. Note to Chan – our line does not block well enough to run the spread offense with an empty backfield as much as we did. We got burned by it when it counted the most. We simply need to get a few yards, run the clock down, and avoid negative plays. Not saying run on every down but passing on every down in KC territory was stupid. Chan – the verdict is still out on you. The offense is getting better but your game management is not impressive. Buddy – please do not sleep when free agency starts next year. We need lots of better players
  18. I agree 100%. Not to mention the INT or the sack/grounding penalty that killed any chnce to rty to win. Horrible play calling. Calling passes with an empty backfield and our O-line is dangerous and we paid for it today.
  19. Enough of the "they showed heart" posts. THEY CHOKED in so many ways today. KC IS NOT a very good team. The defense DID NOT leave it all on the field. They DID NOT generate a turnover. They DID NOT stop the run. The O line DID NOT leave it all on the field. The DID NOT pass protect when we needed it. Lindell DID NOT make the winning kick. Moorman DID NOT make a good kick when we needed it. Fitz DID NOT have a good game. Spiller DID NOT make an impact. The coaching staff DID NOT make good decisions. Just because the score was close DOES NOT mean you saw potential. I refuse to be happy about losing. It sucks, and it always sucks.
  20. I am psurprised KC passed at all. They could have ran for 350 yards with ease.
  21. I agree. I try not to rail on him but today Kelsay was just so lousy that it hurt to watch him. Same for Whitner.
  22. Totally disagree about OT. How many shots at winning the game did we have? Answer = ZERO. Everytime we got close to a FG we went one dimensional and we passed on every down.
  23. Two tackles and a TE would help. Cornell Green is hurt and was lousy. Kirk Chambers was rightfully cut. Jamon Meredith played himself right out of the NFL. Leaving us with Cordero Howard, a UDFA guard playing right tackle. That is how bad the FO screwed up the off season. I sure hope Nix does not sleep through next years free agency.
  24. Yes, they were signed to play the 3-4 and their help has been marginal so far. The Bills scrapped the 3-4. As a DC, Edwards is a rookie and he need to do doing more to help his players get to the QB. Canning him and promoting an assistant is not the answer. If they do replace him, lets bring in an experienced DC with a track record of sucess.
