  1. We had long drives the first three possessions and got 14 points, Josh's interception killed a drive deep in the red zone. 21 points would have won the game. Two weeks in a row the offense was a non-factor in the second half. We never threatened to score a TD after that 3rd possession, settling for a 51-yard FG and missing a 53 yarder. So, my question about Dorsey would be does have more than a first half game-plan? Does he counter when they counter? It has not looked like that the past few weeks. In Dorsey's defense the plays might be fine if the execution was better. Today we got close to nothing from Davis, Knox, McKenzie, and Singletary.
  2. Yes. Great guy.
  3. Very good football player. Best wishes to him.
  4. Yeah, because every week coaches read PFF and fan message boards to find out how good or bad their players are. <sigh> Of course they don't. Show us your source for Saffold being on the bottom 5 rated player every week. Or did you read it in PFF, or maybe in a fan forum? If that is your source, then you don't really have one.
  5. Listed by who? The only list that counts is the coaches list.
  6. Tom Sestak was the best player on the defense that led the Bills to two consecutive AFL championships. I watched him as a very young kid and remember his dominance. Injuries forced him to retire before the NFL merger. He is on the first team all time AFL Team.
  7. I like the big pads. I cannot believe how little padding the players today wear. Especially the knee, thigh, and hip pads. Some players do not seem to use them at all. Crazy.
  8. Excellent piece. Talley was a great player no doubt. He was the kind of player the other team hated to play against. Relentless. He came up big time and time again.
  9. ... and he lived in the middle of nowhere were there was much less visibility to him. He worked on the family farm when others like Darnold and Rosen were going to the best football camps.
  10. His accuracy issues of the past stem from never being taught proper technique and always carrying the load on lesser teams with lesser talent around him. Not from lack of talent or ability. He was never working with top college coaching and got into bad habits. He went nowhere out of High School as some of the best college recruiters in California (a bigtime football state) missed the boat on him. He ended up in a Junior College, as a JC transfer that begged to get a shot at D1. I guess he proves that accuracy can be taught and improved upon after all. Probably was much better liked by Pro Scouts that really know something than from the media types that blather away on the airwaves and in social media. Mel Kiper was high on him though.
  11. Agree. I want to see them go 20 years of 6-11 thru 9-8 and not get a quality QB. Thinking back to the Bills QB drought, so much of it was bad the Front Office(s) making bad QB selections and also not making enough QB picks either. It seems like we didn't draft enough QBs. If you don't have one, then you need to focus on getting one instead of picking up journeymen QBs and hoping for a miracle just to make the playoffs. The GM turnover of Donahoe, Levy, Brandon, Nix, Whaley was part of the problem too. You cannot build a solid foundation when you replace the FO and coaching staff every 3-4 years - all you do is get into a restart loop. I think Kraft knows better. It will be interesting to see who he hires when Billy B finally steps down.
  12. I am a big McD fan. He was agressive and out team responded to that. i just winder how many fans on this board would be had we lost by less than one FG after leaving 3 points on the field and then missing the 4th down conversion at midfield. Winning cures all.
  13. After the Bills and Chiefs its wide open. Anything can happen and the Bills still have a tough schedule ahead. All of their division games will be tough, and many will be in bad weather. The Bills are the class of the East, but no AFCE teams will roll over for us. The Jets might actually be better than NE and Miami. The once emerging Dolphins might end up on the bottom. In the West San Diego is the next best after KC. The other two teams are meh. Ravens, Titans, Bengals, Colts, Browns is a grab bag right now.
  14. They have had a few good drafts in a row, they have some talent, and they are playing good football right now.
  15. McKenzie had a terrible first half. The missed pitch out and fumble got into his head. It’s over, move on. I think Shakir moves ahead of him due to him earning it with better play. McKenzie goes back to gadget guy.
  16. Wow what a game. I am emotionally spent. Too dam happy to post anything else. We need and deserve this bye week.
  17. It was a big time play and Taron has made big plays before. He is usually underrated.
  18. So you know more about this than the O Line coach, the OC, and the HC?
  19. Tre has 5 years of experience playing high level All Pro football. Benford and Elam have 8 games combined. Seems very early to have a trade Tre White conversation.
  20. Logo of the original Buffalo Bills of the All American Football Conference (predates the AFL Buffalo Bills) is below. You are wrong. They were the Buffalo Bison in 1946 and then switched to Bills and remained Bills up thru 1949. The AAFC dissolved with some teams joining the NFL, but not Buffalo. The AFL Bills were started by Wilson and their first season was 1960. The original AFL logo and Marketing also featured Bill Cody. The logo and poster below is from the AAFC Bills. Proof of the name Bills and the Cody logo from AAFC. Which carried on to early AFL days. And below, 1962 AFL Bills Program and Cody again included. I think he disappeared by the mid 1960’s.
  21. Ok. Now think. The Buffalo Bills, named after Bill Cody, could come up for discussion next.
  22. No. He actually gets some game reps and us doing fine.
