  1. Your opinions are your opinions Ramius. The celebrations are fun to some people but to others they look "foolish and childish". Tweeting (as opposed to "twittering") may indeed have zero effect on his play on the field. I kind of doubt it though. I have no problem with him tweeting, or playing video games, or rapping, or doing any of that stuff. I understand that it is part of today's culture. I have three kids ranging in age from 18 to 22, I see it. It does not make me look "foolish or childish" just because I think he should lay low and channel his energy on football.
  2. There is no problem unless he creates one. He dropped the ball. Now he needs to pull himself up and resume his career. If he is under a microscope then he put himself there. Please recall the Minuteman celebration in New England and and the Tee-shirt celebration in Cinci? He has already been fined twice for his antics. Now he is leaning a painful lesson in humility. Coach Gailey said a lot when he said these words and they were directed at Stevie Johnson: “In this business, there’s two types of people — the humble and the humbled — and if you’re not in the first group, you’ll be in the second group at some point in time,” Well Stevie says he is now humbled. Good news Mr. Johnson, so please stop the premeditated celebrations and the tweetings and dedicate yourself to your craft. If you do that you will have a rewarding career. (See Examples: Jerry Rice and Andre Reed.)
  3. A 3rd or 4th WR option is beter than any of our TEs but not better than the top TE in the league. Look at hwo we get shredded by TEs. We need a big target with great hands that can also block. People who are saying we are a passing team do not get it. One dimension will not win in this league. Punting from the 40 is getting old.
  4. I two am frustrated by this. I don't have exact numbers but in 3 overtimes plus the Bears game we have struggled late in the game to put it away and in all cases we are passing too much and doing it with an empty backfield. I understand tht Pittsburgh is tough to run on but Fred Jackson is a clutch player. I want to see him in the game in these situations, if for no other reason than to keep the defense honest. When we need need 5 to 7 yards for a game winning field goal I am not saying go "Jauron conservated" but lets give Jackson a few shots. Final point -- a legitmate NFL quality TE would help. I big recieving target that can also block is a missing piece of the puzzle that needs to be addressed in the off season.
  5. I saw the highights on TV and they showed Mendenhall's last run before the game winning 41 yard FG. The Pittsburgh gaurd Keamento (spelling ?) wrapped an arm around Williams and just about had him in a head lock. No call. A holding penalty would have pushed them out of FG range range. It may not have mattered as "The Drop" seemed to deflate the whole team. Williams had a monster game though.
  6. Chan said he talked to him. That's good. Johnson will be back. Next week is a new game.
  7. Yes. I see the bashers are out now. I think he will bounce back.
  8. Amazing. I log onto TSW and not one bad post about Stevie Johnson. This guy should run for mayor of Buffalo, better yet, he could be president in the next election maybe. Lets recap: His first season he is well liked but mostly for being a nice guy with cool dreds. Next season he can't get on the field and yet is still revered on TSW. Even Chan does not know how good he is (or should I say potentially be). This season he emerges. He has a monster game against Cinci and become a celebrity, not just for his play but for his humor. His TD celebrations and his sense of humor are covered by the national media all week. He tweets, he raps and he catches touchdown passes! Oh my! Stevie really must of been distracted this past week. All those intereviews must have taken him off of his game. I counted 5 drops, I have read 4 and 6 in other places. There are lots of reasons we lost and Stevie is right at the top as reason number 1. Any other player would be getting flamed right now and yet I see numerous threads supporting him. Is TSW going soft or is Stevie really that Wonderful? I hope the kid makes it. We need another impact player. The way Evans is playing we really need Stevie to step up. Right now I am not fully convinced he can be a consistent and legitimate #1 but I am pulling for him. I just hopes he knocks of the celebrations and the other nonsense and focuses on football.
  9. Should have been 6 points and a win. Can't blame Leodis or Moats. One of the many freak plays that went against us. This time we had more chances to win than they did and we could not get it done.
  10. I believe that Buffalo was refered to as the "Queen City of the Great Lakes".
  11. Funny stuff. First time I have seen that segment.
  12. Three straight would be nice. More than anything else I want to beat the Pats* at home in front of a full house.
  13. Coincidence. Much more contributed to Childress getting the axe than the Packers. Farve, Moss and Childress's own massive ego are bigger factors.
  14. Maybin and McCargo are too irrelevant to be on the list.
  15. Got it. Thanks.
  16. Need some help with translation here. Tatted = full of tatoos. Skull Cap = Bandana on head (like a pirate) wife beater = ? thanks in advance!
  17. Loved the win. Missed the game due to business travel but loved the win anytime and anywhere. Anyone who thinks losing will help us by giving us a "better draft pick" have not watched football for very long.
  18. The extra point was blocked, blame the blocking. The FG was makable but look at the replay of the hold, the ball is clearly slanted to the right. Add in the rain and wind. The ball just did not rotate. I hope Lindell is ok and suspect he is.
  19. What game were you watching?
  20. If he even plays, and he plays ok, then you should be thanking Edwards and Carrington's position coach. Did you see him in preseason? He was lost. Don't you think that the coaches know if he is ready or not? Why are you surprised that a 3rd round DE is not ready to play yet? What data do you have to think this is an overwhelming anomaly? Why are you looking to blame Edwards? Happy you have a "good feeling" about this kid but it will take more than that.
  21. The o-line is improving but still not a quality line capabile of dominating a game (think 90's). The Right OT position has been woeful. One thing that helps this line is Fitz. Fitz has speed, vision, and he is just plain tough. Lots of other QBs would be much worse playing behind this line. At a minimum we need to add more talent to the tackle positions.
  22. I saw it and I thought it was almost funny to make such a big deal about 1 and 8. But is sure felt good to have something positive on the Bills during MNF. Thanks Chris.
  23. Offense is scoring just a little bit more. We have played some very good defenses too. What about total yards gained and time of possession? We seem to be moving the ball better and throwing down field much more. Getting more first downs and less 3 and outs. Any comments on those factors? Also, isn't our red zone offense much improved?
  24. Fitz is Fitz. Excellent leadership, not afraid to go for it, but inaccurate as a passer. We will draft a QB in the first round. Fitz will mentor that QB. When that QB of the future can outplay Fitz then he will start. Brohm is a backup and he will have to wait for his shot. This happens all the time. Brohm better be working hard becauase his shot can come at any time. If Fitz gets hurt or plays very poorly then Brohm gets in. Otherwise no. Brohm will at least get another look next year at camp. Additionally, I think you might see a few appearances of Brohm in the last few weeks of the season mopping up a win or a loss. Right now the team needs to improve and develop and build on successes. We do not need to play musical QBs so Fitz stays.
