  1. Why is Choice in there? Bad run, bad block ... WHY Chan???
  2. Bills OL needs to man up
  3. hope not. Last week we pulled him too soon.
  4. I thought Tebow could not throw?
  5. Lack of talent for the misguided 3-4. Johnson and Kelsey are not linebackers. Leopdis is a mess on returns, ok he got a TD but remember the NE game? He makes bad decisions.
  6. The crack staff at the Ralph just changed the scoreboard from Dolphins to Bronco's. What an embarassment. Did Ralph eliminate the scoreboard guy in a cost cutting measure?
  7. Nixon was hurt and lost for the season, then Rod Kush replaced him and he got hurt and lost for the season, then Bill Simpson took his place. This team was one of the best Bills teams ever. If they really did have so few injuried it is more of a statistical anomaly than anything else. A few players on this team had short careers due to injury. Jerry Butler is one along with Brammer, Nelson and Nixson. Many others played a long time. I am amazed at the number of players that plyed 9 years or more that were listed as starters. Wow.
  8. Hmmm. One can say that Buffalo as a city is indeed old, worn out and tired. That is a very accurate view of how Buffalo is thought of today. Since I love the city of Buffalo so I won't go there but please face the fact that Buffalo peaked a long time ago and has been in serious decline for 50 years. I will agree that this Bills team does not represent the people of this fine city. This Bills team is not big enough, not strong enough, not tough enough, and not resilent enough to accurately represent the city or its people.
  9. You lost crediblity at "hire Chan as the OC". Head coaches pick their own OC's. Any head coach worth hiring will insist on that. You missed the boat on Marty. Nix and Marty are friends. It has been documented that Ralph Wilson did not want Marty, he was not comfortable with him was the qoute. You lost me at "the 34 defense is a perfect fit for a city like Buffalo".
  10. Nice. But more like this --- Buddy declares "we will build through the draft and sign our own". Then we let Bell and Johnson walk away while Buddy takes a nap for the first week of free agency. After Buddy wakes up he goes after one decent player and provides good bargaining leverage for that guy to get a nice deal on his current team. Next, we look for players that Nix drafted in San Diego that are on their way out. About a month later we sift throught the bargain bins and sign some Georgia Tech guys that are floating around other teams practice squads. Maybe Whaley could lure a few 3rd stringers from Pittsburgh to help us out? That way Chan can fill enough holes just to have a camp. By the middle of camp Brandon, Wilson and Nix all provide their versions of the "be patient" speech.
  11. Yes, it is the medias fault. Ralph has always spoken in generalities like this. I think he meant faster players. I sure hope so, our group of WRs are slow.
  12. If you theory was true we would finsh the year 12-4. Denver D is good. Our D is bad. The Bills are running for the bus. Expect Denver to win.
  13. No. No way. Not for any player.
  14. Who sits around and thinks of a list like this? To answer your question, the teams I don't like are the ones in our division for obvious reasons. Right now the Pats* are at the top of the list. I like to root against Dallas too.
  15. Lynhc has 1,000,000 + yards. Wow, we screwed up. I think the above in bold is what worries everyone. He has been known to walk into the draft room and "recommend" a pick. Heck, He waited 9 years to let Modrak into his "inner circle". Bingo.
  16. Worst part of Ralphs quote was this. "We've got to get receivers. If he hasn't gotten anybody to throw to, he's not going to win many games," Wilson said. "We think he's a good quarterback, and we're going to stick with him and get him some better players, get him some runners, some tight ends that don't get injured and some wide receivers and we'll be OK." TEs that don't get injured? How about a TE that is not a 7th round picks, or a UDFAs, or off the waiver wire? Get some recievers? This is the front office that preferred Donald Jones over Lee Evans because they wanted to "see what their players can do". They brought in Ruvell Martin when Parish got hurt. Nice move there. Some runners? - We had Lynch, Jackson and Spiller two years ago - how about some blockers? What about Fitz himself? What have we seen in his arm strength and accuracy to be convinced he is good QB?
  17. Ok. So thinking out of the box means pulling in one bit of random data (character players) and applying it to anything (football success)? Not quite. First, find a reasonable way to measure character and inlcude the metric for how to do it. Next, apply the metric to all players on all 32 teams over the past 20 years (you can even simplify and apply it to the 30 player players that played the most plays). Finally, compare the records from 20 years of data and see what you have. When you do that, right or wrong, I will give you huge props. Until then you are spouting a baseless theory. Good luck.
  18. Nice post. I think your "lack of invetsment" theory clarifies a point on why we have a lack of depth and a lack of talent. It is the underlying reason. You also shed light on why we seem to use premium draft picks on the same positions over and over - we do not keep our best players. Coaching turnover is a big part of the drafting disfunction. Every coach wants to bring in "his guys" and "his system". At every change over we lost good players and then fail to replace them with better ones. One example was letting Pat Williams go. How long did it take to replace him? Kyle Williams was grafted about 7 syears later took 3 years to develop. Dareus looks good right now. We have been operating under the cap for how long now? We started year ~$25M below the cap and with question marks at OT, TE, WR, QB, DT, DE, OLB and ILB. It is not a surprise that so many UDFA rookies make our team. It is not great scouting, it is low oevrall talent on the roster. Cut it up any way you want and you come back to low commitment by the FO.
  19. While you cited valid research on testosterone levels in men, your application of it here is absurd.
  20. Sometimes this is a good thing to do. It is called loyalty and players talk to each other. Merriman is under contract as is Easley, why not give them a shot?
  21. Tough one. D is poor but passing. I see nothing wothry of passing at this point but i do say give him another 2 years I cannot say he is passing since W/L record has gotten worse under his direction. Grades so far - they can change as players develop, or not. 2010: draft = D Free agency = D Coaching and FO hires = C (Gailey and Whaley) 2011: draft = B Free agency = C coaching and FO hires = B (Wannstedt, added more scouts Product on the field = D-
  22. thank you for correcting this person. You excel at being wrong.
  23. Denial is a powerful coping mechanism. Agree. I would like to retain Bell and have some competition and depth at tackle for the first time since 1987-88. Even if we resign Bell we should bring in another legit LT either by draft or free agency. This FO is simply satisfied to find overacheivers from the bargain bins and call it good enough.
  24. Saw it. SJ has bigger problems with his game than that.
  25. Many posters like me. I agree totally with this ^^^
