Go get Ramsey in the off-season
Bob in STL replied to Billever76's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We can shore up the #2 CB with a lot less money. I say put some dollars into a #1 WR, the OL, and TE. Give our young QB some support. -
I used to subscribe to SI, started in grade 6 and right through high school. Loved getting mail and reading SI cover to cover. RIP Dr Z

Bills Release P Colton Schmidt

Thank you for stating what lots of us are thinking. There are lots of bold and brazen people behind keyboards these days. Either that or what passes as humor has reached rock bottom. -
Would you take Marcell Dareus back?
Bob in STL replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No chance of Marcel Dareus coming back for Coach McD. Signing Jordon Phillips would be a better move. -
I think they will likely finish 7-9 and draft somewhere in the 12 to 15 slot. Considering how bad this season started that would be a good record if it's Allen that starts all the games and finishes 4-2 after the bye week. off season we bring in some help at G, OT, WR, TE, RB, CB, LB, DE -- we have the draft and a lot of cap space to upgrade the roster.

Should we have traded Shady back to Philly?
Bob in STL replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they would have for the right price. Apparently they could not get that price. -
^ 1 week and 1 game suspension for Fournette. Sounds fair.

Best Cornerback in the Game!

Never once did my post imply anything like that. Do you read message boards to judge people and make yourself feel superior? -
Best Cornerback in the Game!
Bob in STL replied to Halloween Land's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I say he is in the top 3. Definitely a shut down corner and a fantastic player. The dancing behind the ref was pretty dumb, especially with the call on us. I get it, some of you guys like that stuff, there is more showboating in this league than ever. If the already over-officious refs tacked on an unsportsmanlike penalty that would have been real bad. -
Coach McD handled it correctly after the game. He expects his team to stick up for each other, not to back down, and no further punishment will be made by him on Lawson. I think coach McD earns even more credibility oin the locker room too. He seemed to like having blood on his sweatshirt. Fighting is not a good thing but that escalated quickly and helped fire up the Bills. The Jags had the ball, first down on the 1 in a tie 14-14 game ... and they ended up with 0 points. Yes indeed, the game changed after that play.

Postgame thread: Bills 24 Jags 21

Classy? Classy would be not opening your mouth and dissing a rookie on draft day, before the kid ever plays a game in the NFL. -
Kelvin Benjamin has checked out. Just bench him.
Bob in STL replied to LTF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why? Haven’t we ate enough contracts? He is on the team that’s why. I believe you should work for your pay. You asked and I responded - I would not play his game and bench him. Go to work Benjamin and catch the dam ball. He should know that the film does not lie and he is looking for his next gig. -

Benching him is what he wants. He wants to sit out, not get hurt, and collect his money. Then blame the team for his low production once he becomes a free agent. I would dress him but see no need to start him. Let him play situationally. Make him work. -
Aaron Maybin After Football - "Walking the Walk"

Great story. He is an impact player in a much bigger way than we hoped. -
Does not make me feel good. Any news on that team is nauseating.

KC vs. LAR vs. 1992 Bills vs. SF No Punt Game
Bob in STL replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We can agree that we should have won by 14+. We had the better talent and the fact we made 4 in a row justifies that. We ran a no huddle hurry-up for most of the season. You would think we could have done better in the last possession but again, the Giants played us before, and they where better prepared. Being a veteran team helped them for sure. They executed a masterful game plan and we did not adjust until very late. -
Another over paid free agent mistake. Never made a difference. Gone in my opinion.

KC vs. LAR vs. 1992 Bills vs. SF No Punt Game
Bob in STL replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, I think the one week helped us. Two weeks of Bills partying and they would have looked unprepared like they did to start of the Redskins SB. Parcells and Bellichek put together one of the best Super Bowl gameplans ever in just one week, just think about what they could do with 2? The Bills lost because they did not take what was given to them. They could have run all day on that 2 LB and 6 dB defense. That would have forced the Giants into their base defense which then would have opened up the pass. We realized this way too late, like in the 4th quarter. Our offense played right into their hands and the Giants did enough ground and pound to wear down our defense and control the clock. Although there were many missed plays, the defining moment becomes the final play, a 47 yard FG on real grass. Not an easy kick back then but the one that separated the great from the very good. Outcoached and overconfident. Two weeks would not have helped. -
SI Chronicles the Sad Saga of James Hardy
Bob in STL replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills drafted this guy and he had a rap sheet that was known by all teams. I remember him scoring a TD on a high pass "jump ball" play and thought maybe we found a great player. Not that I am blaming the Bills, just thinking about how to avoid these pitfalls. I wonder if the Bills did anything to help him get acclimated to the NFL, to life on his own, and how to handle the big pile of money that was coming his way? I thought I read that they did. Going back to the Marv era, I heard that they provided basic home and financial management support. Anyway sad story. The importance of family and the need to take care of children properly is what resonates with me. Seems like a lot of the players coming out of college need this kind of help. -
There is no way we will beat the Jaguars
Bob in STL replied to Cygnus99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this is winnable game. Need strong defense of course and we need special team to make a few plays too. Allen has to protect the ball and make some throws. This game is key to Allen's development and it will show if sitting out and "learning" has helped the game "slow down" a bit for him.
