Anyone remember the 70’s and early 80’s. A string of 1st round busts. A few of these guys never even tried to help the team. Tom Rudd, Tom Cousineau, Phil Dokes, Booker Moore, Perry Tuttle - all terrible players.

I am baffled by this. Final drive to win the game and Cook is not on the field. He had two monster TD and looked possessed.

I will be 67 this year. I’ve loved this team as far back as I can remember, which goes back to the AFL championship teams. This game in KC gets us to the Super Bowl. For the first time I’m really feeling it. I think this team could be special.

You must have missed the Kelly era where this situation was common. First of all they typically dress 8 offensive lineman so not all of them can rest. They might dress 9 for this game. A few starters will on the OL will get a lot of plays. Marv gave the offensive starters one series - often it was 3 plays but sometimes enough plays to drive for a score. After that Kelly, Thurman, Reed and anyone nursing an injury was out. Having Reich made it easier to play with backups because he was always well prepared and was very capable. I suspect McD will do the same. We will see mostly backups right away.

All of Allen’s plays will be with the first team OL and receivers. Anything else is crazy.

This season was my introduction to Bills football too. It as far back as I can remember watching them. I still have some AFL football cards packed away somewhere. And a few Buffalo Bills Coca Cola bottle caps with the players picture under the cork lining. Me too. I loved the Bills and the baseball Bisons and the hockey Bisons. I think he was the first "soccer style" kicker. He was one of the original players to jump ship into the other league. Starting an impending free agent war that owners in both leagues wanted to avoid. Kemp and McGuire were both important figures in the community for many years to come. By the late 60's the AFL was the better league. We will never see anything like that again, and the Buffalo Bills were a big part of it. Thanks Ralph for giving Buffalo a shot, and sticking with us.

McD should get more involved with the D during the practice week, but not fully take over. McD still needs to concentrate on game manangement. McD should get more involved with the Special Teams and verify each week that they have practiced for all contingencies. The Special Teams seem to get surprised way too often. Even things like counting players on the field has been a problem.

When the Bills are good and the Pats* are down, they are still a pain in the ass to beat at times. Note to Bills: Never, EVER wear those Uni’s again. Same color /style as the 1960’s, 70’s, most of 80’s Patsies. Terrible. We won and I hate the Pats*. I always have since the days of Gino Capaletti, Babe Parelli, and Jim Nance.

Rams played out of their heads last week. Sure, weather is a factor today, but last week they were already at “must win” on the season, and half of their stadium was Bills Mafia. They rose up. Tonight they look average.

The Bills beating the Chiefs has been the game of the year so far.
