  1. The players at RB for the Patriots are a 3rd round pick (Harris), 4th round pick (Stevenson) and a UFA Brandon Bolden. Players in the same caliber as what the Bills have. The difference is NE is a tremendous offensive line. Running back is a very disposable position IMO
  2. Everyone knows Nagy is getting fired If they end up 9-8 and miss the playoffs maybe
  3. Read the article: AND SPEAKING OF THAT JOB, THERE’S A FAIR BIT OF SMOKE CONNECTING BILLS DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR LESLIE FRAZIER TO CHICAGO. THE QUESTION THEN WOULD BE WHO HE WOULD BRING AS OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR TO OVERSEE THE DEVELOPMENT OF FIELDS. CURRENT BILLS QUARTERBACKS COACH KEN DORSEY COULD BE A CANDIDATE, THOUGH HE IS ALSO A CANDIDATE TO GET THE BILLS’ OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR JOB IF THE CURRENT HOLDER OF THAT JOB, BRIAN DABOLL, GETS A HEAD-COACHING JOB ELSEWHERE.”
  4. Interesting tiddbitt from ESPN insider (Dan Graziano) which speculated that Leslie Frazier might be a candidate for Bears HC after Matt Nagy gets fired this season. He would not be an exciting hire but I always thought he was a great leader and everyone seems to love him. Chicago would make a lot of sense considering his connection to the 85 Bears. Of course, this could also be his agency trying to drum up interest https://www.sportsmockery.com/chicago-bears/leslie-frazier-reportedly-connected-to-bears-head-coaching-job/?amp
  5. I think the fifth fall of Buffalo should be this ridiculous topic for a thread
  6. Good post Dave. I’ve been a McDermott supporter for a long time and I do think he’s a good coach. Bills fans are such a bi-polar bunch. Bills fans were crowing about McDermott as a top coach in the NFL and now some want him fired. I do feel that some in the media like Tim Graham, Jerry Sullivan, and Matthew Fairburn (all friends by the way) like to pile on McDermott when things go bad. Fairburn who had issues with McDermott a few years back seemed to get a lot of enjoyment saying how Belichick “embarrassed” McDermott. He’s not on the Buffalo beat any more so he has a little more freedom to lob some grenades from Boston
  7. Yep, the NFL is a chess match. Something works well on offense and defense figure it out and the offense has to counter and on…. Defenses figured out how to slow Mahomes and Allen with Cover 2 shell. Both teams tried responding by running the ball to little success because they lack talent in the running game (Buffalo more than KC). Also both teams want to fire their OC! Hate to say it but kinds like Belichick and even Frank Reich seem to be one step ahead sometimes
  8. This is a given. I have a feeling that his favorite players John Feliciano and Ike Boettger are leaving with him next year as well
  9. I love Beane and McDermott but it seems to me like they overvalued and overestimated their roster. They placed lot of faith in players on last season’s roster to shore up some of the weakness of the last season. In most cases these players are less effective than last season. OL: Dion Dawkins, Cody Ford, John Feliciano, Daryl Williams DL: Star Lotulelei, AJ Epinesa, Jerry Hughes, Mario Addison, Harrison Phillips RB: everyone but Taiwan Jones The only area of concern in the off-season who has met expectations fairly well is Levi Wallace at CB2. He has not been great but he actually has gotten better.
  10. When has a running backs coach ever made a significant difference? The problem is both the line 1A and our backs 1B
  11. I agree on the talent but I also the weakest area of play (Offensive Line and Running Back) are also prime examples why the Bills stall out toward the redzone. Teams are keying on Allen to take away his running and flooding the endzone with defenders. Not having to defend against a threat of a run game out the team at a huge disadvantage. the run calls near the goal line make sense, but the Bills can’t pull it off, even with a numbers advantage
  12. Maybe you are right about sequencing of plays but the stats tell a different story. Allen was 30-51 for 270. The Bills threw 51 times and with only 15 running plays for their RB’s. So not sure where you’re getting run-run-pass from, it’s not possible given these splits. Singletary actually had one of his best performances with 11 carries for 72 yards. If anything you can make the argument they should have run a few more times. I don’t think it was a result of a conservative game plan, as much as it was Josh struggling to figure out 2 high shell under significant duress. This also happened against Jacksonville, and parts of Indianapolis and New England and plagued them all season in the redzone. This is is why trying to develop some sort of run game in these situations is not the ridiculous idea some make it out to be This is the biggest fallacy to develop from the Bills game. People assume McDermott wants to “ground and pound” and coach defensively and I really don’t think that’s the case. He wants to be able to run the ball when the offense gets good running looks. That helps create a little more balance which should help our little out a little in the pass game as well. Also do you notice how bad our line struggles to pick up short yardage for first downs? That’s the physicality I believe McDermott is talking about. I’m pretty sure he knows the type of team he has
  13. Anytime you re-sign a player drafted toward the top-to-middle of the first round, a team is likely looking at giving them Top 5 money for their position. That’s why there’s been some hesitance over Edmunds. Yes he’s been good to great at times, but is he consistent enough to earn that kind of money? I’m guessing the Bills think he is. They have a bit of time on Oliver. I’m certain they will pick up year 5. But they may have a similar dilemma next year with him as well
  14. Of course, but it’s a cap issue. You can save $3M by cutting Morse and next year the Bills can get out of the Williams contract. If he isn’t playing RT than he’s an overpaid guard. They will need to clear his cap space (as well as Feliciano) if they want to give new deals to players like Edmunds or Oliver
  15. Morse is going to be a tough call in the off-season. He has 1 year left on his deal. I think it’s either going to be Morse or Williams that get cut
  16. …and yet he’s probably the best lineman on the team
  17. This is where I am. I’ve been getting so worked up this season during games that it almost hasn’t been fun. When they lose, I literally lose sleep. And for what? It really doesn’t have any effect on my life - at all. I’m not at the point where I can say a bad loss doesnt ruin my day but I’m getting there
  18. That’s what drives me crazy about the McDermott critics. There’s a reason why he wants to establish a run and it’s not because he wants a “ground and pound” offense, It’s because it would be advantageous given the looks they are getting on defense. It would also help take teams out of Cover 2. They've tried throwing 40-50 times against the looks defenses have been giving them. Then again, they don’t have the personnel on offense to make defenses pay. It’s a tough spot for the offense to be in - not sure there’s an answer this year. because Terry Pegula is so great at rebuilds
  19. He played and started yesterday. It’s just that he had no impact like the rest of the Bills DL
  20. go watch the Pittsburgh game week 1…. That’s what happens when defenses play the pass and dare your team to the run the football.
  21. Two weeks ago I would say there was no chance at that happened but man he was pissed at the offense. But I also think there’s a lot of issue with players not playing well. Not so sure that’s Daboll but we’ll have a clear picture soon
  22. I mean you can complain all you want, but it’s never going to happen. Hate it or love it, McDermott is going to the teams HC over the next few years at least. Also after what happened with the Sabres do you really want Terry and Kim to hire another coach/GM
  23. I don’t like Sully but I also didn’t have a problem with the question. He had a point. The defense couldn’t get NE off the field. I think Hyde was being a bit too sensitive, it was a bad performance
